Meticulously restored without regard to expense
This is a great opportunity to purchase a stunning, professionally restored, example of one of the fastest
appreciating cars in the world today. E-Type jags have always been highly sought after. However; in the last
several years they have been one of the best investments in classic cars you could make. Still climbing in value
with every sale these are considered to be one of the most beautiful car designs ever built.
This completely original, numbers matching car received an extensive nut and bolt restoration from one of the
finest shops in the mid-west about 10 years ago at a cost of over $60,000 (all documented), after the purchase
price of the car, and was completely restored. Today this restoration would cost in excess of $100,000. Every
mechanical component, every part and every panel was removed and restored to new or better. All the brightwork was
re-plated or polished as needed. All soft parts replaced. The engine and transmission were rebuilt and all painted
surfaces stripped and properly repainted. The end result was an award winning, better then new E-type. Since it
restoration it has been driven approx. 1,000 miles.
If you are considering a restoration project of your own, please reconsider as you can buy this car at a fraction
of the price. Imagine buying a Jaguar brand new in 1969 and then put it in a time capsule. Open the time capsule
today and this is what you have. You can spend ridiculous time and money trying to duplicate this finished vehicle
or you can buy this one, complete and pristine for a fraction of the cost.
After owning the car for the past ten years the owner decided to donate it to a local foundation to benefit cancer
research. I bought It from this foundation with the intent to keep it as part of my British car collection.
However, my circumstances have changed and now I must offer it to the next lucky collector. It runs and drives as
if it were new with that smooth silky Jaguar acceleration these cars are known for. It shifts wonderfully up and
down through all gears and stops very well with no pull or fade. The interior still looks and smells new. The paint
is still incredible with only a few very minor imperfections from the few miles it has traveled. I can find 3-4
small pinpoint type nicks. Likely stone chips. All the glass is like new. All the chrome is show quality.
The only items I know not to be original are seen in the photos. It has a beautifully installed, later type,
steering wheel slightly smaller than the original and much better for driver comfort, the beautiful wood shift knob
and upgraded stereo. Other than those items it appears to be all original as it was in 1969 when it left the
factory. And of course the tires.
It was recently appraised by a professional appraiser, Certified Appraisers Guild of America, and given a value
range between $85,000-95,000. In this appraisal the appraiser rated it as a number 2 condition car. It was likely
a number one car at the time the restoration was completed and has been driven enough to now be considered a number
two. The appraisal and all receipts from the restoration are included in the sale.
The previous owner, who had it restored, was too tall for the car. He knew he would never drive it in anything but
perfect weather. For this reason he had it restored without the soft top. E-types are not the most comfortable cars
for drivers over 6;3". The top literally gets in the way. He was too tall to drive it with the top up and when it
is down it was impossible to put the seat all the way back to make room for his long legs. To remedy this he had
the bulkhead behind the seats restored to appear as though there was never a soft top on the car (see photos). He
never intended to have it out in anything but perfect weather so this suited him better than fighting with the top.
Like many people, he believed this car looked best without the top up or down. It is a beautiful car without the
top and the finish around the rear bulkhead looks perfectly natural. Currently there is no soft top offered with
this car.
I have tried to include as many high resolution photos as possible. Please look these over carefully as they are an
important part of the description of this car. If you are lucky enough to live close to central Ohio please take
the time to come inspect it in person. It is well worth the trip.

Jaguar F-Type pitted against Porsche 911 Cabriolet by Tiff Needell
Wed, 24 Apr 2013You knew it wouldn't take long and it looks like EVO is first onto YouTube with a battle between the 2014 Jaguar F-Type and the 2013 Porsche 911. Tiff Needell spends a few laps warming up the tires (read: drifting like mad) in each droptop before getting in a timed run to see who's champion and who's second best.
Before the bell rings, its the Porsche that's got everything to lose, the 50-year-old era-defining sportscar getting on with a 3.4-liter flat-six, 350 horsepower, a seven-speed manual and a 3,197-pound curb weight. Other sportscars, like the F-Type, continue to eye the 911 like a flag atop Everest that they plan to first touch, and then rip from its socket. The mid-trim Jaguar rolls into the contest with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 with 380 hp, an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters and a curb weight of 3,521 pounds.

Porsche 911 tops a list of must-have classics, but No. 2 is more of a surprise

Surprise here: Slip-streaming the 911 in the most sought-after chart compiled by the Car & Classic marketplace is the Ford Mustang. Using the Google search engine as a means to pick the winners, as well as the average prices achieved on the “Car and Classic” website, the venerable 911 was tagged 1.45 million times per month according to data stretching back 15 years. The number of 911Â’s sold though the C&C marketplace was 21,141, at an average price of 58,409 pounds, or $74,300. FordÂ’s pony car, still a popular choice for buyers in Europe, placed second on the list with 1.2 million monthly searches. The average sales price over 15 years was 31,107 pounds ($39,570), and the number of older Mustangs sold reached a total of 8,332. Models that also finished among the charted top 10 include the Land Rover Range Rover, the Corvette, the ultra-classic British favorite Jaguar E-Type and the BMW 3 Series. “Whilst a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS could set you back the best part of GBP500,000 ($636,000), there are many more affordable models, which bring the average sale price of a 911 on Car & Classic to GBP58,000 ($73,800) – the third highest average selling price of any make and model on the site,” explained Dale Vinten of Car & Classic. According to the site, the Jaguar fetched the highest average selling price: a whopping 89,000 pounds, or $113,000. But thatÂ’s peanuts compared to a Series 1 Roadster in excellent condition, said Vinten. For that, “you can expect to spend up to GBP250,000 ($318,000), A Series 2 or 3 will cost less, as they are not as desirable, but in decent condition you can expect to pay around GBP40,000-GBP50,000. Even a barn find 1969 E-Type Series 2 Roadster can set you back to the tune of GBP33,000 ($42,000)." Launched in 2005, Car & Classic is among EuropeÂ’s most popular classic car clearinghouses. How Jaguar optimized the Ingenium gas engine for the F-Type
Fri, Apr 21 2017At the 2017 New York Auto Show, Jaguar showed off the new entry-level F-Type, packing a 2.0-liter, turbocharged, gasoline-fueled inline-four that produces 296 horsepower, which is built in-house in the UK. It's the debut of this branch of the Ingenium engine series, and it's also the top of the Ingenium gas range; most JLR vehicles will offer a less powerful 247-hp version. We caught up with Jaguar's engineers to figure out exactly how this high-output Ingenium engine differs, and what Jaguar had to do to fit it in the F-Type's engine bay. While all Ingenium 2.0-liter gas fours share major architecture – the aluminum block and heads, as well as the bore and stroke – there are some internal differences. The most important are the low-compression pistons, which allow for more boost without detonation. The new compression ratio is 9.5:1, compared to the 10.5:1 ratio in the 247-hp spec engines. To make the most out of more boost, you need new plumbing and a way to get more fuel into the combustion chamber. So Jaguar fitted a larger twin-scroll turbocharger that's unique to this application. It features low-friction ceramic ball bearings – Jaguar says this improves transient response. There are also new fuel injectors and a fuel pump to accommodate the increased demand for gas in the high-output engine. On the back end, there's a unique exhaust system with active flaps to give it a louder bark when called for. Of course, some new hardware and more boost means the various electronic systems that control the engine needed changes. For one, Jaguar's changed the cam timing and valve lift mapping, as well as the ignition timing. The throttle mapping and transmission calibration have also been optimized for the new engine. As far as the driver's concerned, the biggest change from the 247-hp engine to the 296-hp one – other than increased scoot – will be where the power peak is. The 296-hp engine makes peak power at a higher point in the rev range, which should reward drivers who generously prod the throttle and hold gears in manual mode. Remember, F-Types equipped with this engine will only be available with an automatic transmission. You should also remember that it's an excellent gearbox overall, with rapid, smooth shift characteristics, if the other 8-speed Jaguars are anything to go by.
