This 1966 Jaguar XKE is a barn find in rural
Georgia. It is the 294th 2+2 covered headlight car out of more than
2,600 Series 1 cars made. It is a project car, but is in good shape for
its age and ready for restoration. It comes with 4.2-litre engine with
3 carbs, automatic transmission and dealer installed A/C. The odometer
reads 57,993 miles. It was last registered in Puerto Rico in 1984, and
was shipped to Georgia not long after. Since then it has been sitting
(30 years) in a barn with a concrete floor.
This
classic is white with a black interior. At one time in its history, it
had been repainted maroon, then the last owner repainted it in white
lacquer, which has crackled. The paint has been partially stripped, then left in storage while the owner
moved on to other projects. The car is missing
the exhaust system, and it has some rust, mainly in the driver's side
rocker, door bottom and floor (all pictured). There's also a little rust at the bottom
of the hatch and a few other spots. I can see Bondo work in several
places. The turn signal lenses are cracked and one is missing. With
that said, I've seen much worse. The spare tire
well is in great shape, however, and the tire may be the original
Dunlop. The motor turned over 3 months ago. The interior is in very
good shape with some normal wear. There are no cracks or tears in the
door panels, dash or console. The seats are pretty nice. The headliner and
most of the carpet has been removed to check floor condition (all 4 shown). All the
glass is present. The rest of the car appears to be complete, except for the front bumper, which the previous owner is trying to locate. The last picture shows the car as found. Please let me know if you
would like to see more pictures or if you have any other questions. Call
me at 912-257-5333. This car will be sold with
a Bill of Sale ONLY, as Georgia does not title cars this old. I also
have the 1984 Puerto Rico registration. High
bidder to pay $1,000 non-refundable through PayPal upon completion of
auction. Balance to be paid within 7 business days. The car will not
be released until all funds have been cleared. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding! |

Hot Rod Garage series premieres with 700-hp big-block Jaguar XJ
Fri, 23 May 2014Roadkill hosts Mike Finnegan and David Freiburger have broken up - kinda - to spin off a new show, Hot Rod Garage, that mostly gives up the driveway and parking lot wrench work for the confines of a garage. We say kinda because while Finnegan is the primary host for Hot Rod Garage, Freiburger plays guest host and the new show starts off by wrenching on the Roadkill Draguar project car.
What's the Draguar? It's a 1974 Jaguar XJ12 that's about to be force-fed a 383-cubic-inch Chevrolet long-block engine with tidbits like Holley carbs, a Weiand 6-71 roots blower and a "custom WillBlow transmission," all good for about 700 horsepower. After that Finnegan gets into swapping parts on his wife's El Camino and some TIG welding lessons.
You can check out the first episode below. And in case you're worried, no, Roadkill isn't going away.
The first Jaguar Project 7 is the new kid in Harry's Garage
Sat, Jan 2 2016The Jaguar Project 7 is more than just an F-Type with a dab more power and a special body, and Harry Metcalfe (who advises Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations, which built the car) is here to show us why. This limited-production model is something truly special, and despite Metcalfe's role with JLR it's hard to misinterpret the enjoyment in his eyes when the supercharged V8 roars. Metcalfe's Project 7 is number one of just 250 cars built and wears a British Racing Green body with orange accents around the nose, mirrors, brake calipers, and underneath the rear spoiler – classic sports car style with a little modern flash. His example is also special because the entire build team signed the area underneath the trunk lid. While the engine comes up to temperature during his drive, Metcalfe shows that the Project 7 can be a fine grand tourer, and he eventually puts the throttle down to let his audience here the sublime engine. Metcalfe claims the limited edition Jag actually has too much horsepower but he means that in the best way possible. Driving it reminds him of being behind the wheel of his Pagani Zonda – a fine compliment for a grand tourer to be compared to an ultra-exotic supercar Find out why by taking a ride with Harry.
Jaguar and Land Rover to consolidate dealerships
Thu, 29 Nov 2012Jaguar and Land Rover are set to merge their sales facilities, according to Inside Line. Jaguar Land Rover North America President Andy Gross says 45 percent of Jaguar owners also have an SUV in their stable, so it makes sense to give customers as much exposure to the cat's high-riding cousins and possible. The number of overall outlets will remain the same, and the brands will reportedly remain separate on the showroom floor, however.
So far, just one dealer has made the move to combine under the roof of one 68,000 square-foot facility in Paramus, New Jersey (above), though a further 20 are ready to make the shift and become Jaguar Land Rover outlets. Gross believes the shift is necessary so that his company's dealer network will accurately reflect the company's products. We'll see how cozy the brands are when Jaguar starts rolling out its own SUVs in a few years.
