Have you ever wanted to own a car that people just couldn't help but stare at? Never mind other people, have you ever owned a car that when you parked it and walked away you felt compelled to turn around and look at it just one more time... and then again? This is that car!

This is a two owner, numbers matching, '71 E Type Series 2 Convertible with only 24000 miles. It is the ultimate eye catching color combo of red with black, and comes with the ultra rare and valuable factory hard top.

I own a classic car repair shop and drive a lot of beautiful old cars but none turns heads like this car!

My shop has serviced this car for about 8 years. Our customer who has owned this car since the early '80s is leaving the country and sadly cannot take it with him. The most recent work performed was the removal of the engine and trans to replace the clutch. While the engine was out all external seals on the engine were replaced. The engine was cleaned and painted, and anything that needed to be addressed, was.

Here is a list of some of the work done in the last few years, all within very low mileage:

-Seats were completely redone - frames blasted and painted, new foams, lumbar strappings and leather covers
-All new fluids, belts, plugs, hoses, brake master cylinder, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder,
- Body gaskets were replaced (except windshield and bonnet cowl - did not need it)
- 5 new Coker redlines, 1 brand new Dayton Wire in trunk for spare ( the four wheels on car are the original Dunlops)
- Every chrome screw, nut, bolt, latch, hook, trim piece, bezel etc has been removed, cleaned and polished
- All the instruments have been disassembled and cleaned so they're crystal clear
- Rebuilt front calipers, new brake hoses
- And much, much more!

We have thoroughly gone through this car to ensure everything is working properly so its new owner can enjoy the best of what an E Type can offer. In our opinion, the Series 2s are the best driving 6 cylinder E Types incorporating all the modifications to increase reliabilty and durability. They have much bigger brakes, bigger radiator, better fans etc.

The owner told us the car was being transported back in the '80s in a covered trailer when it came loose and shifted causing some minor damage resulting in the single repaint. As near as we can tell, the car retains all of its original panels. There are no signs of crash damage or "bondo". There are, however, some scrapes and dents under the front of the bonnet and the rear tail section most of which resulting from the owner's very steep driveway. These are obvious with the car up on the lift but as you can see in the pictures they are not at all obvious on the ground.

The paint is in good shape for a 30+ year old paint job but in some areas there's some minute bubbles in the paint. Most people wouldn't notice these until they're pointed out. Again, they're so taken by its beauty.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or to set up an appointment to view the car.

Jaguar Land Rover proposes seats that scientifically massage your butt, for your health

Thu, Jan 16 2020

Habitually sitting too long can degrade a person's health. Scientific research has proven that dormancy can increase the risk of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, deep-vein thrombosis, and metabolic syndrome, according to the Harvard Medical School. Although sitting can be avoided in many cases, such as using a standing desk at work, taking a seat is the only option when hopping in the car for a drive. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is hoping to address this negative aspect of cars with a new high-tech seat that the company says mimics the act of walking.  JLR calls the concept a shape-shifting, or morphable, seat system, and it is currently in a trial period with Jaguar Land Rover’s Body Interiors Research division. Using actuators built into the seat's foam, the seat will constantly be in motion with micro-adjustments that can be tuned to the needs of different people and body types. JLR believes it has created a system that recreates what is known as pelvic oscillation, a motion that can supposedly trick the brain into thinking the body is walking. In addition to helping to prevent internal health issues, JLR also notes that a sedentary lifestyle can degrade and shorten muscles in the legs, hips, and rear. If these muscles are worked on a regular basis, the chance and risk of injury and back issues could potentially be reduced. The new seats are just one of many car interior technologies JLR has explored. In the past, we've seen tech that tracks brainwaves and heart rates, creates augmented reality, helps prevent motion sickness, and helps stop the spread of germs. They've also taken the time to have an expert demonstrate the perfect seating position. Most of this stuff is experimental for now, but it's possible similar features could eventually trickle down to production cars, in time. See how the seat moves in the video below. Strong JLR sales in China boost Tata Motors' quarterly profit

Fri, Jan 29 2021

BENGALURU, India — Tata Motors Ltd on Friday posted a 67.2% surge in quarterly profit. Sales at its luxury car unit, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), improved in key market China as the country led a recovery in the global automobile industry from the pandemic. The Indian carmaker had logged losses for three straight quarters as the COVID-19 pandemic dented business in several of its key markets even as it was already dealing with uncertainties around Brexit, weak demand and rising costs. The Brexit trade deal agreed upon in December has avoided the risk of tariffs on automotive parts and finished vehicles, Tata Motors said, adding that JLR remains encouraged by the Brexit trade deal. JLR sales in China jumped 20.2% on-quarter and were 19.1% higher from the year-ago period. Retail sales at the unit, which accounts for most of the company's revenue, were up 13.1% from a quarter ago, but still 9% lower than pre-pandemic levels. The company said it had saved 400 million pounds ($548.96 million) during the December quarter at JLR under Project Charge, taking the total savings to 2.2 billion pounds so far. Tata Motors has set a full-year target of saving 2.5 billion pounds. Consolidated net profit came in at 29.06 billion rupees ($398.52 million) for the third quarter, compared with a profit of 17.38 billion rupees a year earlier. It had reported a loss of 3.14 billion rupees in the previous quarter. The festive season in mid-November, during which Indians typically make big-ticket purchases, also helped overall sales. "Due to a strong festive season and a clear preference for personal mobility, the PV business posted its highest sales in last 33 quarters," Tata Motors Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Guenter Butschek said. Total revenue from operations rose 5.5% to 756.54 billion rupees.

Jaguar fully reveals the $71,445 XF S Sportbrake

Wed, Jun 14 2017

Jaguar has finally revealed the 2018 XF Sportbrake without any sort of camouflage or subterfuge. It does look pretty much the way we expected, though; an XF with a longer, but still low and sleek roof. That's a good thing in our book. That nice, long roof also allows for an impressive 31.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, which we should point out is just a bit more than the far less attractive BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo revealed yesterday. The Jaguar XF Sportbrake also comes with plenty of performance since it's only available with all-wheel drive and the supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that produces 380 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. Jaguar claims this powertrain will get the wagon to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. Jaguar also includes self-leveling rear suspension on the Sportbrake. Inside, you'll find the same interior as the XF sedan, with one key difference: a vast, fixed sunroof. Though it's a bit disappointing that it doesn't open, the unbroken view of the outside is beautiful. But if you don't like the view, you can close a sun blind over it, and you don't have to touch a button. You simply wave your hand past a sensor and it will open or close. Though novel, we can see many incidents of accidentally opening or closing it while reaching for, say, the overhead map lights. The Jaguar activity key wristband is also available, along with large screens for instruments and infotainment. The sun blind gesture controls, activity key, and additional screens seem to be options though, as they aren't included on the base S model that starts at $71,445. That's nearly a $3,600 upcharge over the sedan. However, you do get a gorgeous car with more space. It's also barely more expensive than that aforementioned BMW. If you do want those fancy tech options, you can option them in, or have them added as part of the First Edition Sportbrake, which starts at $73,095. Related Video:
