THIS IS A 3 DAY AUCTION ONLY!!!!! Up for bids is a very nice 2001 Isuzu Rodeo 4x4. It has the v-6 engine with thee automatic trans and both operate as they should. The engine sounds good with no strange noises and the same goes for the transmission. This is a 4 wheel drive vehicle and it has the high and low range for the 4X4. The shifter to move it from Hi to Lo is stiff but its only because it was hardly ever used in 4 low. I will try to see if I can grease it up a little to make it easier to operate. Nothing wrong other than it hasn't been used in low very much. The Rodeo has air and it works great. It also has power windows, locks, cruise, and tilt wheel. The radio is missing as it had an aftermarket stereo in it and was taken out for another vehicle. Theres no wires cut or anything so all you have to do is put an original in and plug it up. I don't have any for it but sure there in parts yards very cheap. This vehicle has practically new tires on it at all corners. The interior is very nice for it being a 2001 model, no rips or any major stains although the carpet has a hole on the drivers side where a ladies heel worn through it as they do a lot of times. The console lid shows a little wear and I think I added a pic of that so you can see its not to bad. The dash has no cracks, all in all the interior is abocve average for the year model. The paint has some clear coat coming off especially on the hood, guess that's from being in the sun a lot. There is some of it coming off on the sides also but no to bad, think you can see it in some of the pics. Overall this is a great little SUV and it shouldn't be to bad on gas. It has been well taken care of and has lots of life left in it for you. By the way, the wheels are steel, not aluminum. Checkout the pics and let me know if you have any questions preferably before bidding. If you have less than 10 positive feedback you must contact me and let me know you are a serious bidder and will go through with the transaction should you win. If you do not do this I will remove your bid and block you. Sorry but the bad ones make it tough on us good guys. Also I have the right to end the auction early as I have it listed for sale locally. Checkout my feedback guys as its well over 500 and all positive. You don't get feedback like that if you lie and cheat people, I tell it like it is. Let me know if you have questions. The buy it now price on this Rodeo is WAY BELOW retail NADA price so don't miss out. Thanks for looking and good luck should you decide to bid on this great Isuzu Rodeo 4X4.

Junkyard Gem: 1986 Isuzu I-Mark Hatchback
Wed, Mar 13 2019Thanks to the long global reach of The General's tentacles, Americans looking for economy cars at GM dealerships during the middle 1980s could buy Suzukis (the Chevrolet Sprint), Opels (the Chevrolet Chevette), Daewoos (the Pontiac LeMans), and Isuzus (the Chevrolet Spectrum). Just as Mitsubishi sold Mirages in the United States while Chrysler continued to sell the Mirage's Colt sibling, Isuzu moved in with the new front-wheel-drive I-Mark to compete with its Spectrum twin. These cars weren't big sellers and they didn't last very long on the road, but I managed to find this '86 in a Denver, Colorado, self-service wrecking yard. The I-Mark was known as the Gemini in its Japanese homeland and in Europe; the front-wheel-drive second-generation Gemini debuted in 1985. This one didn't make it to 150,000 miles, unlike most of its Honda, Toyota, and Nissan competitors, but it was pretty cheap when new. The hatchback listed at $7,149 in 1986, dismayingly more than the stripped-down '86 Civic 1.3 hatchback ($5,479) but closer to the similarly equipped Civic DX hatchback ($6,699). If you were really brave that year, you could have purchased a new Hyundai Excel for a mere $4,995. This is the base engine, a 1.5-liter four rated at 70 horsepower. Believe it or not, an I-Mark Turbo was available a year later, and it boasted 110 horses. My favorite thing about 1980s Isuzus is the way the HVAC controls are labeled. You can choose between "wind in your long, feathered hair" and "wind on your high-heeled disco boots" settings here. This car is in very nice shape for a dated econo-commuter from a long-departed brand, considering that it survived for a good 20 years while being worth approximately scrap value. For the very strong owners of decade-old Chevy Vegas, the Isuzu I-Mark seemed like a wise choice. Some of the first appearances of the soon-to-be-legendary Joe Isuzu were in I-Mark ads. Priced at only $9!
Junkyard Gem: 1980 Chevrolet LUV Mikado
Sat, Oct 9 2021During the 1970s and into the 1980s, each member of the Detroit Big Three imported Japanese small pickups and sold them with Ford (Mazda Proceed), Dodge/Plymouth (Mitsubishi Forte), or Chevrolet (Isuzu Faster) badges here. Ford developed the Ranger and killed the Courier for 1983 (though Americans could still buy the Mazda-badged version all the way through 1993), while The General axed the LUV after the S-10 debuted in the 1982 model year. Isuzu sold the same truck as the P'up through 1987, though, and we might as well follow up our recent P'up Junkyard Gem with its LUV predecessor. LUV stood for Light Utility Vehicle, and I've managed to spot a handful in the boneyards over the years. This one now resides in a yard in northeastern Colorado. The Mikado trim package included striped seat upholstery and a sporty steering wheel, plus these cool dash badges. As far as I can tell, no LUV Mikado advertising featured any Gilbert and Sullivan tunes. This one is fairly rusty for Front Range Colorado, and it has endured a bed swap from some other small truck. The engine is the 75-horse Isuzu 1.8-liter. Members of this engine family went into everything from Chevy Chevettes to Isuzu Troopers in the United States. Very unusually for a small pickup during the Malaise Era, this one has a luxurious automatic transmission. Acceleration must have been a leisurely affair in this truck. Air conditioning? Unheard of! Someone stuck every one of their lunchtime apple stickers on the driver's door. After 41 years of work, this truck is done. Come on strong in a LUV of your own!
Japan may aid carmakers facing U.S. tariff threat
Wed, Sep 12 2018TOKYO — Japan is considering giving carmakers fiscal support including tax breaks to offset the impact from trade frictions with the United States and a sales-tax hike planned for next year, government sources told Reuters on Wednesday. Going into a second round of trade talks with the United States on Sept. 21, Japan is hoping to avert steep tariffs on its car exports and fend off U.S. demands for a bilateral free trade agreement that could put it under pressure to open politically sensitive markets, like agriculture. "If the trade talks pile pressure on Japan's car exports, we would need to consider measures to support the auto industry," a ruling party official said on condition of anonymity because of sensitivity of the matter. The auto industry accounts for about 20 percent of Japan's overall output and around 60-70 percent of the country's trade surplus with the United States, making it vulnerable to U.S. action against Japanese exports. Japan's biggest automakers and components suppliers fear they could take a significant hit if Washington follows through on proposals to hike tariffs on autos and auto parts to 25 percent. Policymakers also worry that an increase in the sales tax from 8 percent to 10 percent planned for October 2019, could cause a slump in sales of big-ticket items such as cars and home. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has twice postponed the tax hike after the last increase from 5 percent in 2014 dealt a blow to private consumption, which accounts for about 60 percent of the economy. To prevent a pullback in demand after the tax hike, the government may consider large fiscal spending later when it draws up its budget for next year, government sources said. "One option may be to greatly reduce or abolish the automobile purchase tax," one of the government sources said. The government is also considering cuts in the automobile tax and automobile weight tax to help car buyers, the source added.
