THIS IS A 3 DAY AUCTION ONLY!!!!! Up for bids is a very nice 2001 Isuzu Rodeo 4x4. It has the v-6 engine with thee automatic trans and both operate as they should. The engine sounds good with no strange noises and the same goes for the transmission. This is a 4 wheel drive vehicle and it has the high and low range for the 4X4. The shifter to move it from Hi to Lo is stiff but its only because it was hardly ever used in 4 low. I will try to see if I can grease it up a little to make it easier to operate. Nothing wrong other than it hasn't been used in low very much. The Rodeo has air and it works great. It also has power windows, locks, cruise, and tilt wheel. The radio is missing as it had an aftermarket stereo in it and was taken out for another vehicle. Theres no wires cut or anything so all you have to do is put an original in and plug it up. I don't have any for it but sure there in parts yards very cheap. This vehicle has practically new tires on it at all corners. The interior is very nice for it being a 2001 model, no rips or any major stains although the carpet has a hole on the drivers side where a ladies heel worn through it as they do a lot of times. The console lid shows a little wear and I think I added a pic of that so you can see its not to bad. The dash has no cracks, all in all the interior is abocve average for the year model. The paint has some clear coat coming off especially on the hood, guess that's from being in the sun a lot. There is some of it coming off on the sides also but no to bad, think you can see it in some of the pics. Overall this is a great little SUV and it shouldn't be to bad on gas. It has been well taken care of and has lots of life left in it for you. By the way, the wheels are steel, not aluminum. Checkout the pics and let me know if you have any questions preferably before bidding. If you have less than 10 positive feedback you must contact me and let me know you are a serious bidder and will go through with the transaction should you win. If you do not do this I will remove your bid and block you. Sorry but the bad ones make it tough on us good guys. Also I have the right to end the auction early as I have it listed for sale locally. Checkout my feedback guys as its well over 500 and all positive. You don't get feedback like that if you lie and cheat people, I tell it like it is. Let me know if you have questions. The buy it now price on this Rodeo is WAY BELOW retail NADA price so don't miss out. Thanks for looking and good luck should you decide to bid on this great Isuzu Rodeo 4X4.

Junkyard Gem: 1988 Chevrolet Spectrum Sport Coupe
Wed, Aug 23 2023Before General Motors created the Geo brand for cars built or designed by its overseas partners, the Chevrolet Division put its badges on U.S.-market versions of the Toyota Corolla Sprinter, the Suzuki Cultus and the Isuzu Gemini. Those cars were known as the Nova, the Sprint and the Spectrum, and all became Geos starting with the 1989 model year. Today's Junkyard Gem is one of the last Chevy Spectrums ever sold, found in a Denver self-service yard a few months ago. Midway through 1988, the Chevrolet Spectrum abruptly became the Geo Spectrum and was assigned to the 1989 model year. This car was built in May 1988, making it one of the very last of the pre-Geo Spectrums. The Chevrolet/Geo Spectrum was available as a four-door sedan and as a three-door hatchback, from the 1985 through 1989 model years. For 1988 only, a Spectrum Sport Coupe package, featuring some trim upgrades and these rad decals, could be had on the hatchback. This car was essentially identical to its Isuzu-badged counterpart, the I-Mark. In 1988, the MSRP for the cheapest possible Chevy Spectrum hatchback (the stripped-down Spectrum Express) was $6,495, while its somewhat better-equipped I-Mark twin started at $7,439 (that's $17,128 and $19,617 in 2023 dollars). Meanwhile, the base Hyundai Excel hatchback listed at $5,295 and the Yugo GV cost a hilarious $4,199 ($13,963 and $10,941 in today's money). Power came from this 1.5-liter SOHC four-cylinder, rated at 70 horsepower. A turbocharged version with 110 horsepower was available as well. You could get an automatic transmission in the Spectrum, but this car has the base five-speed manual. This car didn't get the optional air conditioning, but at least it has the traditional Isuzu HVAC control icons featuring blow-dried hair and high-heeled dominatrix boots. Just over 170,000 miles on the odometer. Someone installed a pretty good (for the 1980s) Blaupunkt Charlotte CR148 cassette deck in the dash. This was a necessity if you wanted to enjoy full appreciation of the music of the era. The Spectrum is special! It's as slick as city rain. "I didn't spend a lot of money but with my Spectrum it looks like I did." Joe Isuzu mocked Toyota salesmen when pitching the I-Mark. As was nearly always the case during the 1980s, the JDM ads for the same car were much more fun. They should have recreated this commercial with Spectrums.
Junkyard Gem: 1988 Chevrolet Spectrum CL Sedan
Tue, Oct 16 2018After a not-so-successful run selling Opels in the United States during the 1960s and 1970s, The General looked to his partners in the East for the next round of low-priced GM-badged imports. There was the 1985-1988 Chevrolet (Suzuki) Sprint (which later became the Chevy/Geo Metro), 1988-1993 Pontiac (Daewoo) LeMans, and a bunch of Chevrolet and Geo machinery based on the late-1980s Isuzu Gemini. Here's one of the first of those Isuzus: a 1988 Chevrolet Spectrum CL sedan, found in a Northern California self-service wrecking yard. The first model year for the Spectrum (sibling to the U.S.-market Isuzu I-Mark) was 1984, and these cars wore Chevrolet badges through the first part of 1988. At that point, GM decided that its Asian-built imports would belong to the Geo brand starting in the 1989 model year, so 1988 models can be either Geos or Chevrolets, depending on when they were imported. Most Spectrums (Spectra?) were hatchbacks, so a 1988 Chevrolet Spectrum sedan is now one of the rarest 1980s cars sold in the United States. This is yet more evidence that rare does not equal valuable. The interior looks non-thrashed, and the odometer shows a startlingly low reading for a 30-year-old Japanese car. The buildup of rodent bedding in the engine compartment suggests long-term abandonment prior to the car's final ride to this place, possibly dating back 20 years. In keeping with 1980s design trends, the HVAC controls show vivid pink and blue colors, and the option to direct air at your feathered hair or your high-heeled boots. Perhaps the members of Poison owned this car. Most Spectrum buyers would have been too cheap to get air conditioning or an automatic transmission, but this car has both. You just never know what you'll find in the junkyard! This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. As slick as city rain. Japan may aid carmakers facing U.S. tariff threat
Wed, Sep 12 2018TOKYO — Japan is considering giving carmakers fiscal support including tax breaks to offset the impact from trade frictions with the United States and a sales-tax hike planned for next year, government sources told Reuters on Wednesday. Going into a second round of trade talks with the United States on Sept. 21, Japan is hoping to avert steep tariffs on its car exports and fend off U.S. demands for a bilateral free trade agreement that could put it under pressure to open politically sensitive markets, like agriculture. "If the trade talks pile pressure on Japan's car exports, we would need to consider measures to support the auto industry," a ruling party official said on condition of anonymity because of sensitivity of the matter. The auto industry accounts for about 20 percent of Japan's overall output and around 60-70 percent of the country's trade surplus with the United States, making it vulnerable to U.S. action against Japanese exports. Japan's biggest automakers and components suppliers fear they could take a significant hit if Washington follows through on proposals to hike tariffs on autos and auto parts to 25 percent. Policymakers also worry that an increase in the sales tax from 8 percent to 10 percent planned for October 2019, could cause a slump in sales of big-ticket items such as cars and home. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has twice postponed the tax hike after the last increase from 5 percent in 2014 dealt a blow to private consumption, which accounts for about 60 percent of the economy. To prevent a pullback in demand after the tax hike, the government may consider large fiscal spending later when it draws up its budget for next year, government sources said. "One option may be to greatly reduce or abolish the automobile purchase tax," one of the government sources said. The government is also considering cuts in the automobile tax and automobile weight tax to help car buyers, the source added.
