I have a very clean 1996 Rodeo that has very low miles and has, very good tires including spare look new very nice, new front shocks , motor is in new shape has been replaced do to overheating from bad water pump . Has new timing belt and water pump, new fuel pumps , new fuel injectors, machine shop cleaned heads and installed brand new hydraulic lifters but still has valve train noise but is not a problem with heads just play on lifters due to its over 80000 miles and they are known for noisy valve train due to too many moving parts with one cam both sides since there is no adjustment so Study the internet and you will find that its a normal sound from play on valve train and has new cam sensor and new oxygen sensors all 4 and new mass airflow sensor ,newer battery , new wheel cover , interior has slight wear very slight ,power windows in good order, radiator perfect, a/c has new compressor and accumulator and Freon and seals. Has new a/c system .paint is in good shape very few nicks and hood has slight dents from hail.. SUV runs and drives like new , transmission shifts like new . This rodeo is very nice and is ready to drive selling to buy another a bigger SUV ,not selling because of any other reason. Replaced belt tensioner for compressor and replaced fan housing for fan to have new bearings had slight play so I replaced to keep from having any issues . Runs and drives like it should. All new oil ,plugs , and service ... Paid 1500.00 with it not running when I bought 3 years ago just now had work performed to get it sold , Spent over 2500.00 on parts and repairs and labor have 4000.00 invested but it has new motor now and fresh heads and head gaskets same cam and valve train if the valve covers are removed which is simple and replace valve train parts heads would be brand new like the block which is new. Has 100 miles on new block . So to sum it up I went overboard on repairs and parts but at least the rodeo is not a vehicle you would buy and have to put it in the shop for repairs ..You can drive it any were and any place and feel sure you have a dependable vehicle that will get you where you are going with out having to be towed home,, I spent the money on vehicle to get it on the road and got it running like I wanted. Runs very well and lots of power I was very surprised on how much pick up and go they have impressive ,,I have never owned a rodeo this was my first project on a rodeo. Very easy to maintain and to get to plugs etc. Vehicle just sat too long so money and to be spent due to it was not being driven and that's why such low miles, with a new 2 year old we are going to buy a full size SUV and just suffer from bad gas millage LOL. My wife wants a Lincoln navigator and selling to buy just that .

Mazda and Isuzu to collaborate on a new pickup truck
Mon, Jul 11 2016After decades, Mazda has finally untangled itself from its relationship with Ford. The last vestige of that partnership is the BT-50, a rebadged version of the global Ford Ranger pickup truck. Once the BT-50 ends production, Mazda has announced that it will collaborate with Isuzu to develop its next generation of pickup trucks. The BT-50 was co-developed with Ford's Australian division. In their current iteration, the BT-50 and its Ranger twin were never on sale in the United States. Mazda's last pickup in the US was the B-Series, itself also a rebadged version of the old Ford Ranger. Isuzu pulled out of the US passenger vehicle market in 2009, although it still sells commercial vehicles here. Isuzu, continuing a long and complicated relationship with General Motors, co-developed the diesel engine that currently powers the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. In select markets, Isuzu sells a rebadged version of the Colorado as the D-Max. Details on the Mazda/Isuzu tie-up are scarce. A single press release simply says "Isuzu will produce next-generation pickup trucks for Mazda, based on Isuzu's pick-up truck model." This isn't the first truck collaboration between the two companies. Since 2004, Mazda has sold the Titan, a rebadged version of the Isuzu Elf commercial truck. The Elf is sold in the US as the Isuzu N-Series. Those in the US hoping for a new competitor in the midsize-truck segment shouldn't get their hopes up for the new truck. There are currently no plans to bring them here. There is hope, though, that Ford will bring the Ranger replacement stateside sometime in the next few years. Junkyard Gem: 1990 Geo Storm
Sun, Jun 25 2023General Motors began selling rebadged Isuzus in the United States all the way back in 1972, when the Isuzu Faster pickup showed up here as the Chevrolet LUV. A few years after Isuzu began selling vehicles in North America under its own branding, The General began selling Isuzu I-Marks as Chevrolet Spectrums; when the time came to create the Geo division to sell badge-engineered Suzukis, Toyotas and Isuzus here, the Chevy Spectrum became a Geo and a sport compact based on the Isuzu Piazza appeared in Geo dealerships as the Storm. Today's Junkyard Gem is a first-model-year example of the Storm, found with lots of miles and plenty of rust in a Denver-area car graveyard recently. Isuzu began selling this car as the second-generation Impulse for the 1991 model year. Few American car shoppers were interested in that car, but the Storm sold well. For the 1991 model year, a "Wagonback" version of the Storm was added to the lineup. The Storm was discontinued after 1993, and Geo itself got the axe in 1997. The 130-horsepower GSi version of the Storm was one of the best quickness-per-dollar deals of its era, but this car is the base Storm with just 95 SOHC horses under its hood. An automatic transmission was available, but this car has the standard five-speed manual. How much did it cost new? The list price was $10,390, or about $24,741 in 2023 dollars. This one got well past 200,000 miles during its career. The rust is nasty. This car might have been a runner at the end, but corrosion plus high miles, manual transmission and defunct brand all conspired to send it to this place. This content is hosted by a third party. Junkyard Gem: 1988 Chevrolet Spectrum Sport Coupe
Wed, Aug 23 2023Before General Motors created the Geo brand for cars built or designed by its overseas partners, the Chevrolet Division put its badges on U.S.-market versions of the Toyota Corolla Sprinter, the Suzuki Cultus and the Isuzu Gemini. Those cars were known as the Nova, the Sprint and the Spectrum, and all became Geos starting with the 1989 model year. Today's Junkyard Gem is one of the last Chevy Spectrums ever sold, found in a Denver self-service yard a few months ago. Midway through 1988, the Chevrolet Spectrum abruptly became the Geo Spectrum and was assigned to the 1989 model year. This car was built in May 1988, making it one of the very last of the pre-Geo Spectrums. The Chevrolet/Geo Spectrum was available as a four-door sedan and as a three-door hatchback, from the 1985 through 1989 model years. For 1988 only, a Spectrum Sport Coupe package, featuring some trim upgrades and these rad decals, could be had on the hatchback. This car was essentially identical to its Isuzu-badged counterpart, the I-Mark. In 1988, the MSRP for the cheapest possible Chevy Spectrum hatchback (the stripped-down Spectrum Express) was $6,495, while its somewhat better-equipped I-Mark twin started at $7,439 (that's $17,128 and $19,617 in 2023 dollars). Meanwhile, the base Hyundai Excel hatchback listed at $5,295 and the Yugo GV cost a hilarious $4,199 ($13,963 and $10,941 in today's money). Power came from this 1.5-liter SOHC four-cylinder, rated at 70 horsepower. A turbocharged version with 110 horsepower was available as well. You could get an automatic transmission in the Spectrum, but this car has the base five-speed manual. This car didn't get the optional air conditioning, but at least it has the traditional Isuzu HVAC control icons featuring blow-dried hair and high-heeled dominatrix boots. Just over 170,000 miles on the odometer. Someone installed a pretty good (for the 1980s) Blaupunkt Charlotte CR148 cassette deck in the dash. This was a necessity if you wanted to enjoy full appreciation of the music of the era. The Spectrum is special! It's as slick as city rain. "I didn't spend a lot of money but with my Spectrum it looks like I did." Joe Isuzu mocked Toyota salesmen when pitching the I-Mark. As was nearly always the case during the 1980s, the JDM ads for the same car were much more fun. They should have recreated this commercial with Spectrums.
