Well Hello.  This is your chance to capitalize at my expense.  There is a story below if you want to read it.

I bought this Scout on Ebay last summer.  Sight unseen.  Yikes!  I suggest that you don't do that.  When I had the Scout delivered I quickly realized that it needed everything.  It was in rough shape.  The only two postive things about the Scout were the original miles and the lack of rust.  Without going into details it needed everything.   Fortunately, I have great mechanic who was very excited to "help" fix this old girl up.  That was last summer.  I got the Scout back from my mechanic this February.  He is a great mechanic but not that fast.  Actually, I think that the Scout needed more work than even he realized.

The list of repairs made to this Scout is way to extensive to list them all.  I have 10 pages of invoices for the repairs made on this Scout.  I will hit the high notes:  I rebuilt the brake system, wheel cylinders, completely rebuilt the steering and alignment (drag link, pitman arms, installed a stablizer steering shock), completely serviced the transmission, serviced both front and rear differentials, new clutch, removed and cleaned the dual fuel tanks, installed an electric choke and new carburetor as well as fuel linkage assembly.  I also fixed and replaced dashboard gages, replaced both window regulators (spent $1k just to get the windows to roll up and down), installed fuse box and new wiring harness, all new belts, new alternator, battery.   The list goes on and on and on.  That sound you hear is my mechanic laughing and me crying.  My point to all of the rambling is not to make you feel sorry for me (although you should) My real point is this.... I have more money in this Scout than I will ever get out of it and this Scout runs like a "sewing machine."  to quote my mechanic.

The Scout is now mechanically strong.  Everything works including the orignal radio.  It was recently inspected, tagged, and plated.  I drive this Scout everywhere.  I take it to visit the folks and that trip in an hour one way.  Miles per gallon is an issue but it has two tanks.  :-)
The Scout has solid original floors with no holes found anywhere. There are no signs of Bondo either. The top is removable and removed.  Much more fun to drive that way...  see pics.  Hard top, soft top, and no top.
The tires are mud grips and in pretty good condition. Original Scout hub-caps.  My daughter and I take it 4-wheeling almost every weekend.  (we have to...it is Texas and will be too hot soon)   We love this Scout.  It is really fun this time of year.

Well you have heard about the hub-caps now what you need to know.   I love this Scout but have another project (that I can actually work on myself) that is much less expensive.  I planned on having the inside of Scout re-carpeted and outside painted.   It would be perfect then.  The problem as previously mentioned is that I have almost $10k in just repairs on a truck that I bought last year and every dollar I add in expense is for your benefit.  Ok maybe not you but definately for the high bidder on this Scout.  I just could make myself spend any more money on her knowing I'd never get it back.

If you have questions or just want to get more details on my Scout please call 972-897-3430 between 9am-6pm CST before bidding. The Scout is located near Dallas Texas.   Thanks for listening.  This was good therapy for me to write.   Good luck!
