Please read entire descriptions and look at all pictures before you bid. 1966 International Scout all wheel drive with a 304 V8 auctomatic with a cast iron bourg warner 8 automatic transmission. A Dana 44 rear axel (like a 1 ton axle). I think the Drive line is out of a 1969 scout but in a 1966 body. I purchased this 8 years ago and it had a snow plow on it, I just put another body on 6 years ago. Has solid floors, rock solid doors and a very sound body. It was painted 6 years ago at Macco's. It does have some scratches on the side & on the back tail lights from putting full length body on it. I just recently put a half cab top on it and purchased 2 new poly gas tanks & left & right transafer switch. The tires are only a few years old. Just had the transmission gone through at last year and that cost me $680.00, but I can not find the reciept. It drips a little bit when you stop, but not heavy enough to put new seal in. Every 2 or 3 months I put in 1/2 quart of transmission fluid in it. All old Scouts drip a little. The carburator os only a few years old along with a new starter and fuel pump. Just put a better oil pan on it when they went through transmission. It shifts beautifully. This automatic runs as smooth as silk even with big tires. It is much easier on gas with street tires but the big mud tires are a lot more fun. You can drive down the Interstate & the steering is nice and tight and runs like silk. I drove it all the time until recently, before I came disabled. I used it as a daily driver. It never had a windshield washer system but I installed one and took the ID plate off to do it and lost the plate. I have since moved and am afraid it may be lost. I have never had any problems with that, it is licensed and insured. I used mostly for fishing and hunting. It could use a little block sanding and repainted. It is time for a new paint job. It had multi-colored primer on it so I could not tell how smooth it was. It could of used a little sanding and smoothing behind the doors. There is fiberglass and bondo when they painted it. Still looks very nice! It is starting to get surface rust, so I would suggest smoothing and sanding and repainting the same color. There are extra parts. The seats are not in that great of condition but I do have the springs for a bench seat that you can have. All lights, turn signals, gauges work but the horn is not hooked up. The speedometer is a little bouncy because it is not the right cable, but driving at a steady speed it is more steady. The poly gas tanks have a thick neck & have to put gas in it very slow. I usually just put the gas in a couple of gas cans and put it in that way. Has glass pack muffler, original y-pipe exhaust. I drive it that way and it sounds like a muscle car. This scout will haul butt and snap your head back it has so much power. I would put Military tires on it in the winter and go up hills,it is a climbing machine. The perfect truck for hunting and shipping or everyday driving. I have well over $12,000.00 in it not including labor. It is ABSOLUTELY an eye catcher and a chick magnet!! You can take the top of and drive in the sun. I have extra windhield, 2 side windows (1 for each side), extra metal fuel tank, front and rear drive shaft, some springs for bench seat (which nost people perfer). The transmission cross member can unbolt & pull out so you can drop the transmission if you want to work on it, it is easier. I only took it on a 300 mile trip to Des Moines once, but if you live close you can drive it home, if not I recommend a trailer. Actual miles is 63,000, but odomoter init reads 17,000. I just put over $2000.00 in it last year. The reserve on this beautiful 1966 Scout is only $4500.00 but hope to get more. If you have any questions, please ask before you bid. This scout is SOLD AS IS! This is a HONEST and ACCURATE description as I can give. The first $2000.00 is to be paid via paypal and the remaining by money order within one week and to be picked up within 2 weeks, if you can not do this, please let us know, or do not bid. Just a very cool and great ride and hope who ever buys this has as much fun in it as I did!!
