1978 International Scout II Midas Edition 4x4 Low Reserve
Up for auction is a super nice 1978 International Scout II Midas Edition. P.S, P.B, tilt steering wheel, A.C, cruise control, factory am-fm radio, 4 new tires, factory chrome wheels, spare chrome wheel and tire with cover, 345 V8 automatic transmission, 307 gears in Dana 44's, Locko Matic Hubs, 19 gallon fuel tank, sun roof, swivel and reclining front bucket seats, rear seats recline too, sun roof, sliding rear quarter windows, luggage rack, travel top, new floors, rockers, some patch panels, new paint and striping, all exterior lights work.
Engine runs and drives good, transmission shifts as it should, 80,410 actual miles, life time warranty on mufflers from Midas, w/new tail pipes. currently inspected until September 2014, clear title.
Hood has some rust on lower inside panel, but it does not affect opening or closing at all, seats do have some tears in them, ac needs charged, fuel gauge does not work which is typical for Scouts, radio does not work.
I have had this truck for 10 years and slowly been restoring it over the years. Overall the truck is very nice but of course does have minor flaws. Any International Scout Midas enthusiast knows how rare these are to find and in restored condition. Comes with the original line setting ticket. This Scout Midas is truly a collector's dream.
From 1977 to 1980 IH contracted with Midas Van Conversion Co. of Elkhart, Indiana, to build special luxury models to be offered through its dealers. Some of these vehicles had swivel bucket seats, shag carpet, color keyed interiors, door panels, headliner, grille guards, dual sunroofs, overhead clocks, 3rd seat, reading lights, tinted windows, fender flares, and special side appliques and paint designs. Models included the Family Cruiser (or just Cruiser), the Street Machine, and Off-Road Vehicle. Another company called Van American (Goshen, Indiana) offered similar options to compete with Midas; however these vehicles were only offered for a short time, making them very rare today.
This listing is being sold as-is and includes no warranty. Buyer is responsible for any/all shipping costs if needed.
