This is a wonderfull International scout and the cleanest I have ever owned. This scout has been my daily driver for the past four years. It was mostly original when I found it. This scout was sold new as a Patriot model from Powell IH in the Phoenix area and has been in Arizona since then. I tried to buy it from the family of the original owner several years before but they were not interested in selling at the time. At that time it still had original paint and red and blue stripes which were cracked and faided.
The engine is the 345 ci V-8. It is original and runs well. The transmission is the 727 automatic. It operates as it should with no issues. The transfer case is a Dana 20. The axles are Dana 44s with 354 grear ratio. The scout is driven regularly and has been very reliable. The air conditioning compressor is not original to the vehicle and works pretty well. The air conditioning condensing coil and hoses are new. All the lights and guages work. Being an Arizona vehicle, rust is not an issue. The body and frame are in great shape. All glass is in good shape. The carpet and vynal flooring are original. The paint looks great but is not perfect. There are a few blemishes, dings, scratches and a couple runs, however very minor. The stripes are reproduction purchased from Super Scout Specialist. They look great and are dead on for the originals. I have pics of the door jams which still showed the edges of the original stripes. From what i understand Patriot models which were ordered from a dealer would have "Patriot" written on the top of the line setting ticket. An undetermined number were pulled from the line at the fctory to have the patriot stripes applied. My line setting ticket only showes it was sent to the TSPC where the stripes would have been applied. The ship to dealer was Powell International INC which was in the Phoenix area.
