1971 International Scout 800B. Runs and drives good. 304 International V8, 3 speed manual transmission, 4 wheel drive. Body is pretty solid, floorboards and rockers not rusted through and appear to be original based on color of floorboard under rust protectant paint. Shows some surface rust, but nothing major. Typical of a barn find. Appears to have spent its life in a barn or under a shed. All gauges work except for the fuel gauge. Only major body damage is a dent behind passenger door, see pictures. Pretty solid underneath- see pictures. I believe it to be a great resto candidate or do like I did and drive it like it is. Contact me through Ebay if you have any detailed questions, I usually answer quickly.
As I said, I drive it regularly. It drives surprisingly well for what it is. Does not leak fluids. 30X9.50 mud tires in decent shape, probably 40-50% tread and do not leak. Small ding in one wheel, does not hurt drivability and still balances out. Manual brakes and steering. Newer rebuilt Holley carb. Dana 44 rear end.
Windshield wipers do not work. Fuel gauge does not work. Needs weather stripping. Drivers window is hard to roll up, but it does work. Glass is in decent shape. Front and rear bumpers tweaked a little. Brakes work like old scout manual drum brakes. One back up light is busted on passenger side rear. Uses a little oil once in a while, not all the time. I just make sure to check it once a week or so.
Vehicle is registered as an Alabama Vintage Vehicle. Alabama does not issue a title for a vehicle this age. It will be sold with a bill of sale, which is what is needed to register it.
No warranty expressed or implied. Vehicle is sold as is where is with no returns. I will answer any detailed questions you may have before you bid. $500 deposit due at auction end, balance to be paid in CASH at time of pickup. Can assist with loading on a trailer. May consider delivery within 500 miles for $1.00 per loaded mile if you are interested. Vehicle must be picked up or delivered within 7 days of auction close unless prior arrangements are made before bidding.
Hate to sell, but I just don't have the time to finish. I got it running and driving reliably and have enjoyed it, especially this spring and summer with the top off. Yes, you could drive it home, but I would not simply because the wipers do not work. I got any where from 9-14 MPG with it depending on type of driving.
Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
