For sale is a beautiful 1971 International Harvester Scout 800B, 6cyl. automatic, 4WD, with removable hard-top. The color is "Omaha Orange". It is a real head turner! The Scout is in very good running condition, and is lightly driven on a regular basis. We mostly use it to go to the beach in the summer, and to run errands around town. When not in use it is stored in our garage. Scout enthusiasts will know that International stopped making the 800B in 1971, so this is the last of the model that was made.

We are the fourth owners, and have owned it since 2006. We have title in hand. Prior to that it was owned by a close friend, and he purchased it from Oregon and had it shipped to Mass. The original owner purchased it in Illinois. We have the original line setting ticket, owner's manual and all maintenance records. During our ownership we have replaced the battery, had the carb rebuilt by Holly Carb in NH and have changed the oil regularly. Other than that, the Scout has required no other work, and starts up immediately, even in the dead of winter. The hubs lock for 4WD, and the Scout performs with ease through heavy snow. The hard-top is removable. However, we have never taken it off as there is no roll bar.

We have gone to great efforts to keep the salt and sand off the body, and hose it down after use. That being said, there is minimal rusting along the wheel wells, and under the door panels. However, for a 40+ year old vehicle I would describe the rust as minimal. The bench seat is slightly collapsed, but my husband is a tall guy, and he prefers it as the steering wheel is very large (not leaving a lot of leg space). The windshield wiper fluid container is broken and needs to be replaced. The speedometer and odometer need to be wired and are not currently working. The odometer currently reads 37,944, and the maintenance records indicate that this milage was accurate as of about 2003. I estimate that during our ownership, as well as the prior owners, that we have put no more than 10k miles on it. We currently only use the passenger-side gas tank as we were never able to flip the tank switch over. The Scout will come with two new gas gauges that need to be installed. All other gauges, signals, headlights/tail & brake lights, radio, interior light, windshield wipers and heat/defroster all work.  

It pains us to part with the Scout, but we are expanding our business and require another "daily driver". We hope it will create as many wonderful memories for you as it has for us.
