A classic barn find, 1968 international scout 800. First off, i am not a scout wizard, so feel free to ask any questions. I will describe the scout as best I can. The scout runs and drives, but it is all original. It definitely needs some work to be road worthy. The brake line going to the rear brakes needs to be replaced. The passengers front wheel bearing also needs to be replaced. The low beams do not work, I think the selector switch on the floor needs to be replaced. The windshield wipers do not work, they are vacuum operated, could easily be dry rotted vac lines going to the wipers?? The cigarette lighter does not work, possibly just a fuse? The manual fuel pump went bad so it was disconnected and an electric in-line furl pump was mounted on the drivers frame rail. Fuel gauge is currently not working, it was working fine until last weekend, not real sure what happened. I was told possible a ground problem. Radiator cap leaks when up to temp. The doors close hard, the door pins are shot. The scout has all the traditional rust, floor boards, drivers side has a section cut out and a not so good patch done. The passengers side is original yet and has a few rust holes. The drivers front fender up top has some rust holes, a good body shop would not have a problem patching it. Also some good rust on both rear inner wheel wells. The frame and everything else underneath is solid. Weather stripping is all dry rotted. The clutch works good, but needs to be adjusted. It engages at the end of the pedal throw. There is also a bad patch job done in the back, inside of the scout, could also be cut out and fixed. The body is good and solid, just has multiple dings and dents. It shows her age, but it is original paint!!

Now for everything that is good on the scout! Battery, temp, oil pressure, speedo gauges all work. Dash lights work. Hight beam headlights work. blinkers work and indicator lights work. Heater works and selector switch works. Carb has been rebuilt. New battery. All glass is good, windows go up and down. I have 2 spare doors that will be included. One door, the skin is shot, but has all good original glass and handles. Tires hold good air. Starts good, idles great. Shifts good. 4x4 works good, has a twin stick transfercase. Power lok differentials. Im sure i'm forgetting something, feel free to ask any questions. The scout is for sale locally so reserve the right to end auction early.
