**rare** 1971 International Scout 800b on 2040-cars
Truckee, California, United States
For Sale The rare 1971 800B. Only made for part of the year 1971 Barn Find (literally found in a barn) RUST FREE Scout. This is a very clean International. There are a few minor dents here, but for a Scout, this is very clean. 232 AMC/Intl engine with manual 3 speed trans. Engine runs good. Will need a little tinkering when you get to your location as it is tuned for 6000/7000 feet. Had an exhaust man ifold leak, so there is a brand new manifold. Engine fires right up. Medium lift. Will easily clear 33's if wanted This Scout has not been cut up like most. Has original dash with all pieces in fantastic shape. No cracks in dash pad, trim is not bent or missing. Original radio/cassette deck. Steering wheel has no cracks Original bench seat. Has a rip so a cover was installed Back seat is not a Scout seat (looks like a bestop/Smittybilt etc...) but matches All trim is in excellent shape. Not really any pitting or rusting at all. Doors fit tight Drum Brakes need adjusting. They work too well. I did not want to paint or do body work to this Scout. What is there is what you get. Paint and body work can hide a lot of sh&% (dents, rust, bondo etc..). This is to show you what the condition of the body is in before you paint it whatever you want. Don't get me wrong, there are a couple dents but they are very minor. What you see in the pics is what you get. There is currently no top. Throw in an extra $250 and I will get you a good condition top. If it costs more, then the remaining $$$ is on me. I am in California where the rust is very little. There are tops available. Also, please don't ask if you can fly in and drive it home to the East Coast. First of all, why would you ever want to do that in a 43 year old car that you don't know at all. Secondly, why would you ever want to do that in a 43 year old car that you don't know at all? She runs and drives, but I cruise it around the neighborhood to keep her from sitting. I have a big lineup of projects that I am trying to work my way through. Deadlines are up and I am nowhere close to done. Selling whatever I did not get to. Please feel free to ask as many questions as possible and I will answer to the best of my ability Thanks |
