THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL, LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE THAT WAS BOUGHT FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY FOR FLOOD DAMAGE. IT HAS NOT HAD ANY PARTS REPLACED, BECAUSE NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE. IT RUNS AND DRIVES AND SMELLS NEW! THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO DRIVE A LUXURY 2012 AWD CAR WITH VERY LOW MILEAGE AT A TREMENDOUS DISCOUNT. THIS CAR HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES, AND HAS BEEN ISSUED A REBUILT SALVAGE TITLE. THIS CAR CAN BE REGISTERED JUST AS ANY OTHER CAR WITH THIS TITLE. BECAUSE OF WHERE THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD STORED THIS VEHICLE, IT WAS A STANDARD PRACTICE TO CUT ALL BATTERY CABLES ON THESE CARS. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLES WERE RECORDED AS HAVING 0 MILES SINCE THEY COULD NO LONGER TURN THE KEY ON AND LIGHT UP THE ODOMETERS. WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR, THE CUT BATTERY CABLE WAS REPAIRED, AND THERE WAS 5,206 MILES ON THE CAR. I HAVE SINCE DRIVEN THE CAR AN ADDITIONAL 600 MILES AND IT PERFORMS BEAUTIFULLY. I HAVE TAKEN A PICTURE OF THE STICKER SHOWING THE MOST RECENT DEALER SERVICED OIL CHANGE. IT LISTS THE NEXT OIL CHANGE DUE AT 6,624 MILES. THIS IS A GREAT CAR WITH REALLY NICE FEATURES THAT CAN BE BOUGHT VERY  REASONABLY.

All Infiniti G models are very well equipped and feature power everything, 17-inch alloy wheels, push-button ignition, leather seating, Xenon headlights, speed-sensing wipers and an AM/FM/CD stereo with MP3 compatibility and XM satellite radio. Journey trims add heated side mirrors, dual zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, a rear view camera and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with integrated compass and HomeLink universal transceiver.G25x all-wheel drive models start off like a Journey, but add "Intelligent" all-wheel drive, which instantly adapts to changing road surfaces and conditions by sending power to the wheels that need it most, enhancing traction and control in less-than ideal driving situations.

Nissan recalls 226k vehicles over airbag inflators

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

Nissan and Infiniti are the latest automakers to issue recalls involving faulty airbag inflators from Takata. The Japanese automakers have announced campaigns covering about 226,326 units from seven models built in the early 2000s because they contain the bad part in the passenger-side, front airbag. The affected vehicles include the 2002-2004 Nissan Sentra, 2002-2003 Pathfinder and 2002-2003 Maxima, and it also covers the 2002-2003 Infiniti QX4, 2002-2003 I35, 2003 FX45 and 2003 FX35.
Like the other vehicles with the faulty inflators, it's possible for the part to rupture during airbag deployment and spray metal shrapnel at occupants. Nissan and Infiniti have even included vehicles with replacement airbags in this campaign because those parts also could have been defective. Both companies were also part of the earlier regional campaign to fix cars in high-humidity climates where the problem has been found to be the worst.
As is the usual response, Nissan and Infiniti will notify owners of the affected vehicles and will make the repair at no charge. According to the filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, these fixes will commence around August 11. Scroll down to read the report from NHTSA, or read the full defect notice as a PDF, here.

The yin and yang of the 2017 Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400

Fri, May 19 2017

When we first drove the Q50 Red Sport 400, Infiniti had the car out at a prepared slalom-and-cone course in a large, open parking lot. The car was stacked up against another Q50 without the Direct Adaptive Steer steer-by-wire system, and the course was designed to show that the DAS-equipped Red Sport 400 (it's a $1,000 option) required less steering input to master the same course. With all due respect to Infiniti, which is invested in this unfortunate system and has been working hard to revise it, the comparison doesn't make a lot of sense. The non-DAS Red Sport 400 has a steering ratio of 15:1 in RWD and 16.7:1 in AWD forms. The DAS system can vary between 12:1 and 32.9:1 in RWD and 11.8:1 to 32.3:1 in AWD flavors. At its extremes, the DAS system's ratio is vastly different than the fixed-ratio cars. So sure, with a super-quick steering ratio available, the DAS driver's going to do less work. It's all in the gearing. Does this mean it's better, that the steering feel is more natural, that it's easier to hustle quickly? The amount the driver saws at the wheel isn't an indication of that, necessarily. After a few days in a rear-drive Red Sport 400, I'm saying that the spooky disconnection between the driver and the front wheels would be a severe deficit to a driver on a real autocross course. It's not like the DAS system is choosing bad ratios within its range, it's just not supplying the feedback to make it enjoyable. Knowing what your front tires are up to is critical. I can hear you saying right now, "But what Q50 Red Sport 400 owners are going to autocross their cars?" Sure, but it was just a means to an end: showing off the DAS in a good light. And in that case, it probably did. The thing is, in isolation, not back-to-back with a non-DAS car with a slow steering ratio, the DAS system has the same issues it's always had: It simply doesn't feel natural. It doesn't feel intuitive. There doesn't seem to be any real advantage over a slightly quicker rack. I don't hear about people making buying decisions based on how much work they have to do sawing at the wheel, do you? So, that's one side of the Q50 coin – one that's hard to ignore if you're an enthusiast and steering feel is an important connection between you and the vehicle you just dropped a large hunk of change on, and will be spending a lot of your time in. The other is that there's a really compelling reason to drive a Red Sport 400: The 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 is a monster.

Infiniti will reinvent its models, tech and design language as part of reboot

Mon, Jun 15 2020

Infiniti raised more than a few eyebrows when it announced plans to follow a strategy it described as Nissan-Plus. Although this term suggests the brand's image will be dangerously watered down, its chief executive stressed its flag will remain firmly planted in the luxury car segment as he outlined what to expect in the coming years. The executive team led by Infiniti boss Peyman Kargar will reboot the company with a focus on profitability. "Premium brands should bring more money to the company, so that's the objective. We are not at the level we want to be," he told Automotive News. Several new products are on their way, including a crossover with a fastback-like roofline named QX55, and Kargar clarified many future models will ride on an architecture shared with parent company Nissan. It will be compatible with gasoline-powered, hybrid and electric drivetrains. He explained sharing platforms and components is necessary to save money because the company, like its peers and rivals, is spending a small fortune on developing electrified, autonomous, and connected technology. The shift will likely spell the end of the driver-friendly rear-wheel drive platform found under the Q50 and the Q60, but don't expect Infiniti to put its emblem on, say, a Sentra, and call it a day. It will remain a luxury brand. "The objective is to use these assets of the company, and then to reinject the money we are saving into the luxury experience and ingredients of Infiniti. We will put more money into Infiniti's future, but this money will come from the savings in globalized platforms," Kargar explained. The strategy he's outlining is one many of the firm's competitors have already adopted. Lexus, Acura, and Audi all build cars using parts sourced from their respective parent company. Lamborghini's Urus is related to the Volkswagen Touareg under the sheetmetal. Kargar noted every upcoming new model will be defined by an overhauled design language. We don't know if recent concept cars (like the QX Inspiration introduced in Detroit in 2019; pictured) will influence its upcoming vehicles. However, its future cars will offer nicer interiors, more user-friendly infotainment systems, and they'll receive tech features before Nissan's variants get them, which, oddly, hasn't always been the case in recent years. Infiniti's turn-around will start in 2020, when the aforementioned QX55 makes its debut after a brief delay.
