2023 Japan Mobility Show Mega Photo Gallery: All the highlights and reveals from Tokyo

The 2023 Japan Mobility Show managed to serve up a surprise heap of exciting and futuristic designs and production reveals. Our staff was on the ground in Tokyo for this year's show, where we captured not just all of the latest automotive trends, but some genuinely weird and fascinating stuff.  Browse: Some Delightful Oddities of the 2023 Japan Mobility Show But on to the cars. This year's show featured introductions from Daihatsu, Honda, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Suzuki and Toyota. Some are weird; some are wild; most are probably destined to change significantly before production or merely fade into the void with the rest of the industry's vaporware, but if even a few of these make it to showrooms, we'll consider it a win. 2020 Infiniti Edition 30 cars debuting at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance

Infiniti is celebrating its 30th anniversary at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance next week, and itÂ’s rolling out a special edition for several models in its lineup. The anniversary cars are to be called Edition 30, and all of them feature similar changes. YouÂ’ll be able to get an Edition 30 for the Q50, Q60, QX50, QX60 and QX80. ThatÂ’s two sedans and three SUVs that are said to arrive in dealers this fall as 2020 model year cars — even though Infiniti launched in 1989, the first car it sold was a 1990 model year, so this matches up perfectly. Pictures of the Edition 30 cars are scant, but weÂ’ll be able to check them out in person at Pebble next week. Infiniti says they all feature special dark chrome accents in the exterior grille surround, fender trim and a little around the rear end, as well. YouÂ’ll get black side mirrors, dark gunmetal gray wheels and a body color rear apron. Additionally, all of them will be equipped with the ProAssist package as standard. This package includes driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control, distance control assist, a 360-degree camera, backup collision intervention and predictive forward collision warning. Pricing isnÂ’t available at this point for the special edition models, and we don't know if production numbers will be limited, either.

2018 Lincoln Navigator vs luxury SUV rivals: How it compares on paper

The all-new 2018 Lincoln Navigator is an impressive, luxury-lined beast. However, while its Black Label interior stood out most during our first drive of the new Navigator, it also seemed pretty clear that much of this full-size SUV was superior to the competition in a number of fundamental ways. Its Raptor-sourced 3.5-liter V6 had class-leading power for one, and its third-row seat seemed as spacious and comfortable as its rivals' are cramped and barely usable. To search for your next new vehicle, try Autoblog' s Car Finder. Yet, I wanted to take a closer look at how the Navigator fully compares on paper to its competitors - especially the Cadillac Escalade with which it most directly competes. The below spreadsheet should tell the whole story, but as you can see, there's an awful lot of class-leading green highlighter in the Navigator's column. The cargo volume and third-row legroom numbers are particularly telling, with the latter actually going up to 42.3 inches when you slide the second-row fully forward. Now, a few things to note about the above spreadsheet. The GLS-Class is also available as the GLS 550, which boasts a 4.7-liter V8 that just comes up short to the Navigator with 449 horsepower but has to deal with only 5,578 pounds. Its $94,950 price tag is comparable to the Navigator Black Label. Much of the LX 570's information is also applicable to the Toyota Land Cruiser, which, badge aside, could certainly be considered a member of this segment given its feature content and still-hefty price tag. It has better ground clearance and approach/departure angles than its Lexus sibling, along with an as-indicated lower price. Much of the Escalade's information also applies to the GMC Yukon Denali, while the Infiniti QX80 is applicable to the Nissan Armada.
