2008 INFINITI G35X
For sale is a very well cared for vehicle with 73,800 miles.  Engine is strong and received all required maintenance.  NH inspection good through March 2014.  Extras being sold with this vehicle include a set of winter wheels/tires, hardwired GPS and Valentine One Radar Detector.

Features include:
  • Black leather interior
  • 18" OEM rims w/ Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tires 225/50/18 with 90% tread remaining (new in April 2013, approx. 6K miles).  Wheel lug locks.
  • Front/Rear floor mats
  • Including a set of (4) 17" OEM rims and tires for the winter with Bridgestone Blizzak WS60 215/55/17 tires with 60% tread remaining
  • Heated driver/passenger seats
  • Winter/Snow switch (this limits the sensitivity of the throttle)
  • 2 key fobs (keyless entry and push button start), manual and original trunk road kit included
  • Internal computer with outside temp, maintenance reminders, miles till empty.
  • Spare/jack has never been removed.
  • Professionally installed remote starter, GPS and V1.  Remote starter has 2-way transmitters that confirm the vehicle started.  GPS is a Garmin Nuvi 765T. This is a higher-end GPS with free lifetime traffic support.  The Radar Detector is a Valentine One with Laser Warning.  This is their latest model with all software upgrades.  It is about 2 years old.

Discrepancies to note:

  • Some paint chips on the front bumper & air dam.  A couple other marks elsewhere on the body.  Again, nothing extreme - the marks are consistent with a 5 year old vehicle that has seen a bit of highway travel.  Overall I'd rate the paint and body a 7 out of 10.
  • Some minor blemishes on the leather seating.  No rips or tears, just a couple very minor spots where you can see evidence that someone actually sat there.
  • Some minor scratches on door panels, etc.  Overall the interior is in excellent condition, I'm just disclosing everything so there are no surprises.  I'd rate the interior a strong 8 out of 10.
  • Each wheel has some minor curb rash - no extreme damage, but the wheels aren't brand new.  I'd rate them a collective 7 out of 10.
  • There is a 3" dent just rear of the gas tank door.  No paint chipping - this could probably be pulled out (I never had it looked at)
  • Gas tank door has a very minor crease.  Hard to see and I couldn't get a good picture of it.  Difficult to identify as there's a body design accent line that cuts down the side of the vehicle through the gas tank door.
  • Automatic gear shift has some scratching on the top of the knob.  The plastic is cracking/pealing a little.  The knob is probably something a body shop could replace for $100-200.
  • Steering wheel trim has some scratched paint (by the radio controls).  The black interior trim pieces throughout the vehicle have a rubbery finish that scratches off after several years.  I've replaced the trim by the driver's door, and I have a new trim piece for the steering wheel, I just haven't had it installed yet.  The horn and airbag will need to be disassembled to pop-off the steering wheel trim and I don't feel qualified to do it.
  • The 18" wheels have TPMS sensors, but they were never entered into the vehicle's computer.  In other words, the tire pressure lamp is always lit when the 18" summer tires are on the vehicle.  A dealer could enter the summer wheel TPMS sensors into the vehicles computer, but each tire would need to be unmounted from its wheel to see the TPMS serial number.  I never got around to doing this.  The TPMS sensors on the winter tires are original to the vehicle and coded to the vehicle, so the lamp being constantly illuminated is not a problem during the winter.

Reserve set approximately 10% below the buy-it-now.  Vehicle is garaged in Londonderry, NH (about 40 min north of Boston).  The vehicle would be ready to drive home if you fly-in to pick it up.  I would need to keep my plates, so you'll want to bring a temporary tag from your state with you.  I am 7 minutes from the Manchester NH (MHT) airport and could pick you up at the terminal.  If you fly into Boston (BOS), there is an hourly bus service that can take you to a stop 3 minutes away.

2015 Japanese Grand Prix is a little Mercedes, a lot of zen

Mon, Sep 28 2015

Just one week on from the issues in Singapore Mercedes-AMG Petronas appeared to have solved its clamp problems and everything else. Daniil Kvyat at Infiniti Red Bull Racing took the two Free Practice scalps on Friday, but when it came time for qualifying the front of the grid looked really familiar: Mercedes' Nico Rosberg took his second pole position of the season, Lewis Hamilton next to him in second. Kvyat had a hand in that, too, the Russian getting into a big accident in Q3 when he put two wheels on the grass heading into the hairpin and veered into the tire wall so hard that he flipped. That ended qualifying before a number of drivers had a chance to improve their times, Hamilton among them. That's how Valtteri Bottas got in third for Willliams ahead of Sebastian Vettel fourth for Ferrari. Felipe Massa had the second Williams in fifth, ahead of Kimi Raikkonen in the second Ferrari. Daniel Ricciardo lined up sixth for Infiniti Red Bull Racing, a team we're going to have to enjoy watching for the rest of the season since it might not exist come 2016. Romain Grosjean gave Lotus some good news by getting into eighth, the team so strapped for cash that it couldn't get into its hospitality area, so it held press conferences outside and ate at Bernie Ecclestone's Paddock Club. Sergio Perez took ninth for Sahara Force India, and Kvyat slotted into tenth after not setting a time. The Russsian's race would begin from the pit lane once his mechanics rebuilt his car. It wouldn't be a Formula One start lately without someone at the front having clutch problems. This time it was pole man Rosberg, whose power unit got too hot and put him a few horsepower down on Hamilton through Turns 1 and 2. That's half of how Hamilton took the lead from the lights going out, and the Brit kept it throughout the race. Rosberg, however, said his race was lost when Hamilton pushed him wide through Turn 2, a move Hamilton defended. Rosberg finished almost 19 seconds behind his teammate, a gap that probably isn't fully explained by that opening incident. Hamilton's race was so uneventful that we almost never saw him on camera – that is, we saw him so much less than we usually see him when he's out in front and unpressured that Nikki Lauda said he'd ask Ecclestone why the cameras avoided him. The conspiracy theory holds that FOM was punishing Mercedes for not supplying Red Bull with engines next year.

Driver Lets Infiniti Do The Driving For Him

Mon, Aug 18 2014

Self-driving cars seem like the way of the future, but some can't stand the wait. Like this guy, driving down Germany's famous Autobahn in an Infiniti Q50 with Active Lane Control. To test how active the Active Lane Control feature really is, he moves from the driver's seat to the back seat and lets the car's suite of safety systems take control. Active Lane Control debuted in 2013 as part of the Lane Departure Prevention system. It helps Q50's driver use fewer steering inputs by compensating for road conditions. It works with the LDP to keep the vehicle in its intended lane. Used with cruise control, the car maintains its position fairly well on the road. Active Lane Control is only there to help however, not drive for you. While the technology is impressive, it certainly isn't up to the task of navigating the road full time. This driver/passenger is putting his life and the lives of everyone around him in serious danger. We suggest other Infiniti owners wait for the real deal. The future is closer than you think. Infiniti showcases Vision Gran Turismo concept in the metal

Wed, Apr 29 2015

Automakers have been clamoring to convey their ethos to a new generation and cast their brand in a positive light through the Vision Gran Turismo series. But while these concepts are designed for the virtual reality of Gran Turismo 6, some automakers have gone a step further by pulling their creations out of cyberspace and rendering them in the metal. And that's just what Infiniti has done with its design. Infiniti revealed its Concept Vision Gran Turismo back in December, striking a a sleek, low-slung form that looks more polished than a racing car but more track-focused than most concepts. It's powered (at least hypothetically) by a 4.5-liter V8 hybrid powertrain, with center-lock carbon-fiber wheels and rearward-biased 45/55 weight distribution. It's the kind of beast we'd love to drive, but while that may only be possible on Playstation, at least we know it does exist in physical reality – even if only as a full-scale model. Infiniti showcased it alongside the Q80 Inspiration and Q60 Concept at an exclusive event during the Shanghai Motor Show last week, but just revealed the photos now, so you can scope them out in the slideshow above. The evening occasion took place at the Shanghai Himalayas Art Museum. Under the theme of "Aesthetics of Contrast," Infiniti Design Night showcased three design concepts showing an exciting path to Infiniti's future: the Q80 Inspiration (first shown in Paris, October 2014), Q60 Concept (Detroit, January 2015), and the Vision Gran Turismo designed especially for the latest Gran Turismo® 6™ video game. This was the first time the Vision GT was displayed as a real "flesh and bones" concept car, having only been seen and experienced digitally in GT6 prior to this event. Available for download in GT6 exclusively on the PlayStation®3 system, it was created through close collaboration with the creators of Gran Turismo®, the racing game franchise developed by Polyphony Digital Inc. that has sold more than 72 million copies worldwide.
