Well, the time has come after 8 years of ownership to sell my G35. I bought this car brand new in Hartford, CT and moved to Las Vegas, NV shortly thereafter. I then moved back to CT a year later only to move to Miami, FL after less than a year. I took 4 trips to CT from Miami in the car and I'm currently living in NJ. (Where the car currently is) While living in Miami I took countless trips to Orlando, Tampa and Key West. You're starting to understand the amount of highway miles on this car!

I love her, but it's time to move on. I'm picking up a C7 soon.

The Good:

  • The car has been meticulously maintained physically and mechanically. I'm very OCD and the car has always been washed and waxed regularly along with all maintenance intervals done on time.  See my maintenance chart below in the photos. Danny at Slammered Inc. and I have done almost all of the maintenance on the car.
  • I used to own a detailing business and the paint on this car is about perfect.
  • Totally clean title. No accidents or issues. Title is in hand also.
  • The car has also spent its entire life in a garage.
  • The car has never seen winter and there is zero rust on it
  • 1 adult owner (The reason it shows multiple owners on the VIN is that it was originally my company car and I bought it from them. It's been my car since brand new)
  • Runs perfectly and sounds amazing! (Just got 27 MPG on the trip up to NJ from Miami)
  • Never smoked in
  • Rarely seen a passenger
  • The stereo sound amazing.
  • The sound is incredible with the test pipes and Invidia exhaust!

The Bad:

  • The SRS light is on because I had an aftermarket steering wheel in the car for a year. I've read there is a quick reset procedure to take care of it but I haven't had the time.
  • The Check Engine light is on because the car has test pipes installed and the O2 sensors don't like it! I will provide the cats that the car came with and I've been told that swapping them back in and resetting the ECU will remedy this.
  • The front lip could use a fresh coat of paint
  • There is a small rip in the driver's seat front 8 years/89,000 miles of usage. An upholstery shop can repair this for cheap.

Infiniti's QX Sport Inspiration is still attractive, in Paris, and now gray

Thu, Sep 29 2016

Yes, crossovers tend to be boring. But this one is pretty! Then we remember it's going to turn into the front-drive-based QX50, so we automatically lose some interest. But the wheels will be driven by Infiniti's new VC-Turbo engine, which is kind of exciting! And for the 2016 Paris show, those wheels are bigger – 22-inchers in place of the 21s that the QX Sport Inspiration concept debuted with in Beijing earlier this year. (It's hard to tell a difference in the photos, but you can bet the imaginary ride of this concept will suffer, imaginarily.) The 22s are also painted bronze now along with the brake calipers, and the whole vehicle gets a coat of matte gray paint to replace the silver it was originally shown with. There's also some new brown leather in the previously very black and white interior. It's still pretty black and white, actually. Then there's the variable-compression-ratio VC-Turbo engine that will power the production QX50. We're getting a better look at this 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo in cutaway form at the Paris show, and it continues to fascinate. It's a pretty neat thing, with a movable stroke position that allows it to vary the compression ratio between 8:1 for performance and 14:1 for efficiency (when the turbo isn't needed). That might not sound terribly cool, but it's a pretty big step forward in the march of efficient power. So yeah, crossovers can be boring, but at least this concept and the production car that will soon follow it have a few things going for them. Infiniti is pulling out of Western Europe, cutting models

Tue, Mar 12 2019

BEIJING — Nissan's premium brand Infiniti has announced it will exit Western Europe early next year, as it restructures its global operations and focuses on the world's top two auto markets. Infiniti said it will discontinue the Q30 sedan and the QX30 sport-utility vehicle and cease their production by the middle of 2019 at Nissan's manufacturing factory in Sunderland, England. Both models are sold globally but produced only in Britain. The QX30 is sold in the United States. The move comes as Infiniti seeks to divert its resources to markets with bigger opportunities, such as China and the United States, from a region where non-European premium brands are struggling to compete against local players such as Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Nissan also recently scrapped plans to build its new X-Trail SUV in Britain amid the uncertainty surrounding Brexit, saying it had taken the decision to optimize its investments by building the next generation model in Japan. "Western Europe remains the most challenging and competitive region for premium cars," Infiniti's chief spokesman, Trevor Hale, told Reuters. Infiniti's sales in western Europe almost halved last year to 5,800 vehicles. In addition to the tough competition, the Japanese premium brand, headquartered in Hong Kong since 2012, has struggled to effectively meet emissions and other regulatory requirements in the region, Hale said, referring to stringent Euro 6 emissions requirements and other regulatory challenges. "The commercial reality for Infiniti in Western Europe is that there is simply no visibility of a viable and sustainable business, especially given the regulatory challenges," he said. Infiniti said an exit from Western Europe will allow it to focus on its initiative to electrify a good portion of its product portfolio from 2021 and discontinue diesel offerings. The brand plans to focus more on its SUV lineup in North America, bring five new or significantly-redesigned vehicles to China over the next five years, improve quality of sales and residual value and realize more synergies with Nissan. "This is all part of Infiniti's vision to become a top challenger brand in the premium segment," it said. As it prepares to withdraw from Western Europe, Infiniti said it is working to find alternative opportunities for employees who would be affected, consulting with employee representatives where necessary and identifying opportunities for transition and training support where appropriate.

Assessing Sebastian Vettel's first 100 days as Infiniti's director of performance

Mon, 08 Jul 2013

Whenever a new US president is elected, we know to expect a performance review as soon as he (or she) has spent 100 days in office. Sebastian Vettel, arguably given a job that is more important to Infiniti than the US president, has been the brand's director of performance for one hundred revolutions of The Blue Marble, and Infiniti has put together a videographic glimpse of his work at Paul Ricard, in the US and England.
We probably won't really get a grip on the full results of his efforts for a while - we doubt that he's been in his post long enough to significantly alter the trajectory of the Q50 sedan, for instance. But then again, Infiniti insists he's been integral to the car's dynamics development regime, suggesting he's been working as a test driver for some time before these 100 days. Of course, Vettel is a race car driver and brand ambassador first and foremost, but when he tells a Q50 engineer that "For the future, I think it's more comfortable to have the shift paddles on the steering wheel," we get the sense that he won't hesitate to suggest changes in forthcoming products. Check out more of his inputs in the video below as well as a press release detailing his visit to the tech center in Cranfield, UK.
