Infiniti to offer pair of designer Q50 sedans on Gilt.com

As Infiniti continues to roll out its 2014 Q50, the luxury branch of Nissan is looking to the online luxury purveyors at Gilt to move a couple of special editions of the new luxury sedan. Infiniti has teamed with designers Thom Browne and Zac Posen to create a pair of unique Q50 models, as part of the sale.
The exterior of Browne's car is finished in nearly reflective chrome. Now, we'd love to hold that against him (it's a bit too Bieber), but we think the interior that includes the designer's signature red, white and blue stripes and sterling silver accents is a bit classier. Posen's Q50 is more subdued, with a shades that seem to blend into each other. This ombré look starts in a light silver matte up front before terminating in a glossy, dark gray in back. We know plenty about the appearance of these two cars, but we're kind of in the dark about which powertrain they feature.
Rather than just throw these up on the web and pocket the profits, Infiniti is doing it right. It'll donate proceeds from each car's $75,000 sale price to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. As for the people that shell out $75K for the unique Q50s? Not only will they get a new vehicle, but they'll be gifted a $10,000 shopping spree on Gilt, along with a "style consultation."

Infiniti Q60 Concept a shadowy vision of future coupe

Until now, the Infiniti Q60 has been one of the brand's holdovers from its old naming scheme and previous design ethos, as a rebadged G37 Coupe. Those times are coming to an end though, because we are getting our first glimpse at a Detroit Auto Show-bound concept that previews the next-gen two-door. Infiniti's freshly released teaser shows the sport coupe concept in shadowy silhouette. Based on this photo, we can see that the Q60's design features delicately swooping lines with a touch of hard-edged contrast coming from sharp creases in the body. Portions of it, especially towards the rear, bring a little of the Q80 Inspiration from the Paris Motor Show to mind. A previous rumor suggests this shape is very close to the actual design of the production version. Infiniti subtly reiterates that in its release by saying the concept foreshadows the styling we might see in future products from the luxury automaker. Infiniti takes QX60 on vacation for National Lampoon-inspired ad

Infiniti is packing up its version of the Wagon Queen Family Truckster for a new ad inspired by the American comedy classic National Lampoon's Vacation. Well, actually the 30-second spot replaces the green station wagon with a QX60, but the commercial does a great job of evoking the movie in a short time. The release timing is clearly perfect too given the remake hitting theaters on July 29 with Ed Helms and Christina Applegate. Infiniti's ad replicates one of the film's memorable scenes, but it replaces Chevy Chase behind the wheel of the Family Truckster and Christie Brinkley in a Ferrari 308. Instead, we get Ethan Embry in a QX60 and a blonde in a Lamborghini Gallardo droptop. The slight twist at the end really makes the commercial work, though. The ad starts airing nationally on July 9, but you can watch it streaming above now. Beyond just the surface-level homage, Infiniti gives the spot a slightly deeper connection to the Vacation series.
