I bought this Infinti in 2011 for my wife who thought she might need an AWD car for the occasional snow we get in southern Colorado. Since we are both retired and don't travel much
anymore and the fact that we haven't seen much snow lately (global warming?) We have put less than 2000 miles on it since aquiring it from the original owner. The car has a clean
Carfax and appears to have been well maintained by its previous owner (a professional woman). The car has a few scratches and dings which are shown in the photographs below,
The Infiniti is for sale locally and I reserve the option of ending the auction early.
Mechanical Condition : This car has been garaged and maintained it's entire life. Everything works as it should on the car. The AC will freeze you out. I would not hesitate to drive it today accross the USA. The car handles like a dream. It does not pull, vibrate at any speed. The brakes stop smooth without any strange noises. The transmission shifts smoothly. Great milage for an all wheel drive car.
Cosmetic Condition : The car looks great and is in excellent mechanical condition. I have pointed out it has a few minor nicks and have shown the worst of them in the pictures. I intended to have the car detailed and those carpets cleaned up but did not get around to it. The carpets are in good shape, but could be cleaned to be "perfect".
Neat Features : Infinity loads their cars anyway, but this must have it all. The power seat and steering column move back and up when you shut the engine off to alllow easy exit (perfect for an old guy like me) and I love the back-up camera. I'll miss that when this goes. The leather is performated and soft.
What You Get : You'll get the car, a clean Colorado title, all manuals, and two "smart keys" for your purchase. For those that want to fly-in / drive home; I'll pick you up at the Colorado Springs airport (COS) which is served by numerous airlines. I'm about an hour away from the airport. For those wanting to ship the car, I will cooperate with any shipper, but you must make the arrangements.
Payment : I'll need green cash or a cleared Cashier's Check before I can let the car go, of course.
Questions : If you'd like other information, just email me through eBay. We're retired and I should be able to answer questions quickly.
On May-29-13 at 05:53:08 PDT, seller added the following information:
I have been asked if this model has push-button start. Yes it does have push button start( and stop) if you have " smart key" in your pocket or purse. Also I forgot to mention it comes
with service manual (CD).

Infiniti's variable compression engine in the 2019 QX50 is the first of its kind
Wed, Nov 29 2017The world's first variable compression ratio engine is here, in a production car. That car is the 2019 Infiniti QX50, debuting this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The midsize crossover has seen a refresh that has brought it an all-new platform together with new driver assist features, but it's the engine that's the centerpiece here. Nearly everything is continuously variable under the hood of the QX50 – not only the new shift-by-wire XTRONIC CVT. The new VC-Turbo gasoline engine is able to change its compression ratio from 8:1 to 14:1, or anything in between depending of the driving situation; whether there is need for top-end power or turbodiesel-like torque from low revs, or optimized fuel economy. The pistons' reach is continuously adjusted by an electric "Harmonic Drive" motor, which controls a multi-link system, affecting the top-dead-center of the pistons and changing the compression. The engine can also switch between efficiency-maximizing Atkinson cycle and regular combustion cycle, on the go – and there's both multipoint injection and gasoline direct injection employed. The result is 268 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 280 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm; good figures for a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with a single-scroll turbocharger. Infiniti says that the FWD version's fuel economy of 27 miles per gallon combined is 35-percent better than the previous-generation V6 engine; in AWD guise, it reaches 26 mpg, which is a 30-percent improvement. The new engine is pretty much all-aluminum, but the vaguely magical-sounding "transformative multi-link components" behind the variable compression system are made from high-carbon steel alloy. The engine's multi-link system also enables it to do away with any balancing shafts, and Infiniti compares its smoothness to a V6 rather than a regular four-cylinder. In addition to the aforementioned tech, the VC-Turbo engine has the world's first active engine mount vibration damping system to smoothen its operation even further. Related Video:
The yin and yang of the 2017 Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400
Fri, May 19 2017When we first drove the Q50 Red Sport 400, Infiniti had the car out at a prepared slalom-and-cone course in a large, open parking lot. The car was stacked up against another Q50 without the Direct Adaptive Steer steer-by-wire system, and the course was designed to show that the DAS-equipped Red Sport 400 (it's a $1,000 option) required less steering input to master the same course. With all due respect to Infiniti, which is invested in this unfortunate system and has been working hard to revise it, the comparison doesn't make a lot of sense. The non-DAS Red Sport 400 has a steering ratio of 15:1 in RWD and 16.7:1 in AWD forms. The DAS system can vary between 12:1 and 32.9:1 in RWD and 11.8:1 to 32.3:1 in AWD flavors. At its extremes, the DAS system's ratio is vastly different than the fixed-ratio cars. So sure, with a super-quick steering ratio available, the DAS driver's going to do less work. It's all in the gearing. Does this mean it's better, that the steering feel is more natural, that it's easier to hustle quickly? The amount the driver saws at the wheel isn't an indication of that, necessarily. After a few days in a rear-drive Red Sport 400, I'm saying that the spooky disconnection between the driver and the front wheels would be a severe deficit to a driver on a real autocross course. It's not like the DAS system is choosing bad ratios within its range, it's just not supplying the feedback to make it enjoyable. Knowing what your front tires are up to is critical. I can hear you saying right now, "But what Q50 Red Sport 400 owners are going to autocross their cars?" Sure, but it was just a means to an end: showing off the DAS in a good light. And in that case, it probably did. The thing is, in isolation, not back-to-back with a non-DAS car with a slow steering ratio, the DAS system has the same issues it's always had: It simply doesn't feel natural. It doesn't feel intuitive. There doesn't seem to be any real advantage over a slightly quicker rack. I don't hear about people making buying decisions based on how much work they have to do sawing at the wheel, do you? So, that's one side of the Q50 coin – one that's hard to ignore if you're an enthusiast and steering feel is an important connection between you and the vehicle you just dropped a large hunk of change on, and will be spending a lot of your time in. The other is that there's a really compelling reason to drive a Red Sport 400: The 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 is a monster.
Recharge Wrap-up: Q50 Hybrid video, Iran's biodiesel weed
Mon, Aug 10 2015A new video from Infiniti showcases the Q50 Hybrid's kinetic energy recovery technology, borrowed from Formula One. The video details what is going on inside both the Q50 Hybrid and the racecar when it gathers energy to store for later use, offering better performance than an internal combustion engine alone. In the Q50 Hybrid, that electric energy helps the car accelerate from 0-60 in 4.9 seconds. The video also serves to highlight the relationship between racing innovation and performance and efficiency improvements in production vehicles. See the video above. The 2015 Toyota Prius C has been named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The compact hybrid, updated for the 2015 model year, has been upgraded from a "poor" to "acceptable" rating in the small overlap crash test, placing it on the Top Safety Pick list. Beginning in the 2016 model year, cars will have to score a "good" rating on the test to make the list, which means further improvements will be necessary if Toyota wants the Prius C to maintain its safety status with the IIHS. John and Lisa Brichetto's Northington Energy LLC received a state loan to produce biodiesel in 2011, but the facility never started production and was later foreclosed upon. In addition to the $142,215 the Brichettos defrauded from Tennessee, the state also invested in utilities and roads, while the US Department of Agriculture also paid for site improvements. Scientists at the Islamic Azad University have created two liters of biomass for biofuel from flixweed. Flixweed, also called herb-Sophia and tansy mustard, is a non-edible weed that grows in various climates with little to no effort. It was found to contain 22 percent oil and fatty acids, and the biomass contains oxygenated chemical components. "This issue is important because the atomic oxygen in the fuel of a car directly cuts exhaust and the dangerous carbon monoxide and cancerous particles suspended in air," says Mehdi Alami, a chemistry graduate working on the project.
