Cadillac snags de Nysschen from Infiniti, names him new president

Johan de Nysschen, the (now former) president of Infiniti, has officially jumped ship. The 54-year-old, who also spent time as the chief executive for Audi USA, has taken the position of president at Cadillac, following a two-year stint at the Nissan-owned luxury brand. In his new role, the 54-year-old will be responsible "for all aspects of Cadillac globally," according to a statement from General Motors.
"Johan brings to our company vast experience in the development and proper execution of luxury automotive brands," said GM President Dan Ammann, de Nysschen's new boss. "With over 20 years in this exact space, especially in the development of the Audi brand, his track record proves he is the perfect executive to lead Cadillac for the long term."
"I have for some time now been impressed by how the new General Motors has been transformed into a formidable force in the industry," de Nysschen said in a statement. "The combination of strong corporate leadership and exceptional engineering resources presents the perfect combination to restore Cadillac to its place among global premium brands."

First Infiniti QX30 Concept image released ahead of Geneva Motor Show

After releasing a shadowy glimpse of the rear of the QX30 Concept a few days ago, Infiniti is finally shining some light on the premium compact crossover's backside ahead of the vehicle's full debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show on March 3. The QX30 is a thorough reworking of the brand's Q30 Concept from the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Many of the same styling elements show up on the latest luxury crossover interpretation, but the touches are tweaked to better align with Infiniti's latest look. In addition to jacking up the ride height by 1.2 inches, the CUV gets hard creases in its sheetmetal and complicated 21-inch aluminum wheels that really grab the eye. The rear wears a contrasting dark purple stripe that separates the hatch area from the exhaust tips housed in the skid plate, and both concepts share a coupe-like proportion with the backseat door pulls hidden for a cleaner line. While not pictured, the company says the vehicle has a glass roof. Infiniti still isn't showing the aluminum-trimmed front of the concept yet, but the automaker admits that the styling on display here hints at the possibility of a future premium compact crossover, which isn't really a surprise. 2021 Infiniti Q60 starts at $42,675

The 2021 Infiniti Q60 coupe starts at $42,675 (including $1,025 for destination), Nissan's luxury subsidiary announced today. The two-door variant of Infiniti's compact sport sedan boasts only a handful of relatively minor equipment changes for the '21 model year.  The base (Pure) Q60 now has blind spot monitoring, rear automatic emergency braking, surround-view camera, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and automatic high beams as standard equipment. The high-output Red Sport model gains available power-folding outside mirrors and a tweaked carbon fiber interior trim package.  Apart from that and two new paint colors — Slate Gray and Grand Blue — the Q60 is otherwise unchanged for 2021. Infiniti pared down the Q50 sedan and Q60 coupe lineups fairly comprehensively for the 2019 model year, stripping out some trims and the base, four-cylinder engine option in order to streamline its hierarchy. Only the 3.0t Pure, 3.0t Luxe and Red Sport models remain. Also gone are 2020's Edition 30 models, which celebrated Infiniti's three-decade anniversary, but customers can easily patch together the same builds from 2021's available options. Infiniti's consumer site has been updated with 2021 models, and customers can expect them to arrive in showrooms before the end of the year.  Related Video:
