When it comes to high fuel economy, plenty of versatility and a great looks, this Sonata GLS cannot be beat. This Sonata's superior fuel-efficiency is proof that not all vehicles are created equal. The Sonata GLS has been lightly driven and there is little to no wear and tear on this vehicle. The care taken on this gently used vehicle is reflective of the 75,476 miles put on this Hyundai at the time of listing. Vehicle is not a daily driver but I do like to get it out every once in a while. There are many vehicles on the market but if you are looking for a vehicle that will perform as good as it looks then this Sonata GLS is the one! Hyundai has put longtime mid-size best-sellers, including the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, directly into its sites with the all-new Sonata. Hyundai meets or exceeds those models in most respects. With new EPA fuel economy ratings of up to 24 mpg city, 35 highway, thanks to a new direct-injection 4-cylinder engine, the Sonata has fuel-efficiency and power performance numbers that are both better than most base-model mid-size sedans. The 2011 Sonata is now classified by the EPA as a large car, and has more passenger room than most of its competitors, while it has significantly more trunk space than the Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Malibu. The Sonata is also lighter than almost all of its rivals and has a short 35.8-foot turning diameter that's also shorter than most other mid-size sedans. Hyundai previews Brand N performance division
Fri, Nov 6 2015Hyundai has slowly created a presence for its N performance sub-brand since launching the name on the i20 WRC in late 2013, but so far the company has limited the badge to rally cars and concepts. A recent video suggests the moniker might reach the road soon. While Brand N isn't well known yet, Hyundai takes development of its performance credentials quite seriously. The company's European Technical Center at the Nurburgring is handling an increasing amount of the work, and former BMW M GmbH chief engineer Albert Biermann leads the way. He also provides narration for this clip. Beyond the camouflaged hatchback, some of Hyundai's other high-speed machines also make an appearance here. The i20 WRC plays in the dirt a little, but the big star is the wild RM15 concept. Based on the Veloster, it sports a mid-engine, 296-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder driving the rear wheels. The wide-body coupe looks great running around the 'Ring, too. Hopefully it indicates how far Brand N intends to go. Related Video:
Hyundai bringing 1,000-hp Genesis Coupe to SEMA
Mon, 23 Sep 2013Hyundai has just unleashed its first volley at the SEMA crowd in the form of the Genesis Coupe you see above, and it's a duesy. By partnering with the powertrain gurus from Bisimoto, Hyundai has managed to cram a thousand horsepower into this highly accessorized black and blue machine, using a mill based on the naturally aspirated Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec engine block.
The big powers are a pair of Bisimoto/Turbonetics BTX6462 turbochargers, which are joined by a full set of aftermarket internals that include new connecting rods, camshafts, forged pistons, fuel pump and fuel injectors, and a massive intercooler. With all that power, the chassis was going to need some updates, such as a complete roll cage and a custom coilover suspension setup.
As is expected from a SEMA show car, there is a bespoke graphics and bodywork package, highlighted by a carbon fiber hood and decklid. Check out the two images provided by Hyundai and the press release below for all the details.

How else could we explain the scene you see above, in which there exists a 708-horsepower front-wheel-drive Sonata tuned by Bisimoto (black and white, above left) powered by Hyundai's 2.4-liter Theta II engine? Or the little red number you see hiding in the background, which, at an even 1,000 horsepower, is "the most-powerful 2.0-liter Genesis Coupe ever built," says Hyundai?
In addition to those two powerhouses, the white Sonata (above right) was styled by John Pangilinan to "[connect] Los Angeles street art culture with automotive enthusiasts," whatever that means, and it joins an ARK Performance-tuned Genesis Sedan meant to go head-to-head with Mercedes AMG and BMW M and another Genesis Sedan tuned by Toca Marketing Group with a twin-turbo'd 5.0-liter Tau V8.
All in, that's five heavily modified vehicles being shown at the 2014 SEMA Show by Hyundai (not to mention any more customs not actually sponsored by the automaker itself), and each of them is pretty successful as far as we're concerned.
