2007 Hyundai Sonata Limited Sedan 4-door 3.3l V6 Pick Up Only on 2040-cars
Lewiston, Idaho, United States
This car is smoke free, I am the second owner. Purchased the car in 2008 from the Hyundai Dealership. Previous owner was an older gentlemen who traded it in for a newer model. I have added some things: Custom made seat covers because the interior is so light and I hate stains on seats. I have kids and I wanted it to stay nice. We also put a DVD/CD/USB player in the car. I still have the original stereo if the buyer wanted to change it out. We have put 1 set of tires on it since I've owned it. It has a brand new battery and windshield wipers. Windows are also tinted. This car has always been parked in the garage since I've owned it. We wax and rain-x once a month. My husband is a mechanic so the oil has been changed every 3,000 miles along with a new oil filter. Since I've owned this car I have put non-ethanol gas in it. Gas that has ethanol clogs up the engine and turns to tar, it costs more money but it helps the engine last longer. Right now it is snowing where I live and this car does great in the snow for a front wheel drive vehicle. I'm very happy with how well it handles. This car also has the option to shift into manual to move through the gears as you please. This is great to help save brakes. This car has a huge trunk! I love the trunk space. They are also very roomy. I have a brother about 6'5" and he says he fits comfortably in the front and back. There are 3 seats in the back and the option to pull down a center console with cup holders. Nothing is broken, everything works. Please email with questions. There are a few scratches on the front bumper. One was there when I purchased the car and another one came from a parking lot. I think someone got too close when leaving the parking space. |

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017
Tue, Feb 17 2015Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
Hyundai recalling 186k Elantras due to possible headliner detachment
Wed, 10 Apr 2013Following at least one reported incident of a man who claimed his ear was sliced in half following the deployment of his side airbag, Hyundai has announced a recall for certain model year 2011 through 2013 Elantras; specifically those manufactured from November 12, 2010 through March 5, 2013. In these Elantra models, a support bracket that is attached to the car's headliner may become dislodged when the side curtain airbag deploys. If that should happen, occupants may be in danger of a laceration injury by way of the flying bracket.
Hyundai will notify owners of affected vehicles, while dealers will service the dangerous bracket by applying adhesive strips. (Feel free to insert your own duct tape joke here.) The service will be performed free of charge, starting in May of this year. Follow on to read the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notice, below.
Judge reduces damages in fatal Hyundai crash to $81M
Wed, 24 Sep 2014Hyundai no longer has to pay $248 million as part of a court ruling from a fatal accident in Montana that killed two cousins in a 2005 Tiburon. The judge hearing the appeal revised the amount down to a total of about $81 million. She upheld the original $8.1 million in actual damages but reduced the punitive damages to $73 million from the previous $240 million.
According to Bloomberg, the judge refused Hyundai's desire to reduce the amount even further. She said in her court order that the company showed "an indifference to or reckless disregard of the health and safety of the motoring public."
In the original case, the families' attorneys alleged that the cracking of a faulty steering knuckle caused the fatal accident. Hyundai argued that fireworks had been let off inside the vehicle, which caused the driver to swerve and crash. In a statement released after the ruling, the automaker claimed that evidence supporting its defense was barred from the trial. According to Bloomberg, had the original amount of damages been upheld, it would have been the sixth-highest amount awarded by a jury in the US this year.
