New Hartford, New York, United States
***2006 HYUNDAI SONATA GLS*** Up for auction is a pre-owned 2006 Hyundai Sonata in very very nice shape. Equipped with a 3.3L V6 and automatic transmission, fully loaded with new brakes and fresh oil change. This car runs and drives excellent, there are no drivability issues with it. No brakes pulses, it does not skip, smoke, or pull side to side, and there are no "ABS" or "Check Engine" lights on. One can tell from walking around it and a test drive that it was well taken care of and in above average shape for its age. There is no rust on the car, the whole uni-body sub-frame has been "rust copped". I tried to show this by taking pictures of the bottoms of the doors. This is as clean as they come, original paint car with all factory decals and VIN tags in appropriate places . It is equipped with 17in alloy wheels which are very nice also shown in the pictures, with minimal cosmetic imperfections with no corrosion. The inside of this car is super clean with no rips, no tears, no broken door panels or plastics. The leather is in excellent shape, it is a non smoker car so there are no burns in the seats. All power options inside with power sliding moon roof, steering wheel controls for radio and cruise control, power seat, power mirrors a/c, digital compass..ect. This car has a clean NYS title and two keys with key fobs to go along with it. I invite all that are interested to come look listen and drive if possible. Looking closely at the dash it shows all gauges working correctly while running, ..notice speedometer..I was driving while picture was taken showing good temperature, and fully functional gauges and display. If this car is sold within NYS I will be required to collect sales tax+$21 for a NYS inspection and $30 for a NYS doc fee because I am a NYS dealer. This car is ready to roll. Delivery available. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks and good luck!! |

Hyundai, Kia expanding plug-in vehicle line-up in Korea
Thu, Jan 30 2014Hyundai is shedding a bit of light on its electric vehicle plans. About time, too, since the company has spend a long period being quite vague about plugging in while touting its hydrogen plans. The Hyundai and Kia brands will both release their first plug-in hybrid vehicles next year in Korea; an all-electric version of the Kia Soul will roll out in May of this year and a mid-size electric vehicle will be launched as early as next year. Test versions of the Hyundai i10 electric vehicle have been on Korean roads since first being used at the G20 summit in Seoul in 2010. There have been hints about an electrified Hyundai coming to America, and at the Washington Auto Show last week, Michael O'Brien, vice president of corporate and product planning for Hyundai Motor America told AutoblogGreen that a new EV will be coming to the US market sometime within the next three years. A Hyundai executive told Korean national daily The Chosunilbo that the company will be significantly increasing its investment in hybrids and EVs to roll out a few eco-friendly models starting in 2015. It's hard to say which of these might come to the US market – a new LF Sonata will be coming out in both a regular gasoline and hybrid system in Korea; the US already has the Sonata Hybrid for sale. As for plug-in hybrids, Hyundai said that there will be both Sonata and Kia K5 (Optima) models coming out next year. These will also be the first-ever plug-in hybrids in the Korean market. Hyundai missing Q1 earnings targets blamed on slow US sales
Thu, 24 Apr 2014Slow US growth is hampering profits at Hyundai. In its first quarter financial statement, the Korean automaker reported a profit of 1.93 trillion won ($1.86 billion). According to Reuters, this is less than analysts' expectations and nearly the same as last year.
According to the report, US sales fell by 3 percent in Q1 2014. To make matters worse, the high value of the South Korean currency caused lower profits on models exported from there. On the bright side, Hyundai's Chinese sales rose by 9 percent, according to Reuters. It's also working on building a fourth factory there.
The company has had a rough time in the US throughout the quarter. John Krafcik, the CEO of Hyundai of America, stepped down on January 1, and the company was already predicting slow growth in sales for 2014. Falling quality scores for the Sonata and Elantra aren't helping matters either. However, there may be hope on the way. The second-generation Genesis Sedan was introduced to the US in Detroit, and the redesigned Sonata was recently shown in New York. Successful launches of these important models could prove crucial.
Hyundai appoints William Lee as global head of Genesis
Tue, Oct 29 2019SEOUL — Hyundai on Tuesday named its former North American chief, William Lee, to oversee its premium Genesis brand following the departure of Manfred Fitzgerald to pursue new opportunities. Lee faces the challenge of rejuvenating Genesis sales in the U.S. market and making headway in Europe and China, both tough markets to crack for luxury car sales. "The company expects Mr. Lee, in his new capacity, to lead the brand's further global expansion by leveraging his overseas business operations expertise," Hyundai said in a statement. "North America is an imperative market for the Genesis brand," it added. The news follows the appointment this month of Mark Del Rosso, a former president of Audi America, to oversee Genesis operations in North America. Genesis U.S. sales halved to 10,312 last year, although sales have picked up this year. The United States is the biggest overseas market for Genesis, which generated 72% of its sales in South Korea last year. Before his stint at Hyundai Motor North America, Lee oversaw Hyundai's Brazil operations and the U.S. unit of advertising arm Innocean Worldwide. Hyundai said in a recent earnings conference call that it has set up Genesis sales operations for China and Europe. Hyundai Motor Group's heir apparent Euisun Chung introduced the Genesis brand in November 2015, bringing in Fitzgerald, a former Lamborghini executive, a few months later to help the automaker shed its value for money image.
