Mechanically this car runs perfectly. No problems whatsoever.

The car also has 2 brand new front tires, purchased a week ago.
The bluetooth through the stereo is the best I have ever heard, and everyone I speak to says the same.
Gets good gas mileage, and looks great. I have both original keys and remotes.

This was my commuter car and took a few pebbles to the windshield and a few dents and dings from the parking lot.
There is a sizable dent on the passenger side front quarter panel and some odd dimples on the hood and body. All are totally fixable and do not affect the car's performance or ability to be driven whatsoever - TOTALLY COSMETIC.
Additionally, this car was rear ended twice leaving small scratches on the bumper (from license plate bolts), and it was hit on driver's side rear quarter panel when it was parked in the parking lot. HOWEVER - All of that very minor, minimal damage was expertly repaired in a body shop through my insurance.

I am disclosing all of this "damage" so that there are no surprises, but it is all superficial damage and easily fixed, and none of it impacts the car's performance whatsoever.
All of this damage occurred when the car was either parked or stopped at a light, with the exception of the windshield cracks.
2011 Elantras did NOT come with a spare tire, but Hyundai does offer 24/7 roadside assistance for free.
I am willing to sell the car below what I believe Kelly Blue Book value is, due to the damage listed. Reserve price will be set fairly low.

Lastly, I am not new to ebay. Please do not contact me asking for my bank account info., or to tell me about your "private hauler." This car is located in New Jersey and must be picked up in New Jersey, after we make agree on deal and shake hands. Any monkey business will be shot down in flames. Thanks for looking!!! :)

South Korea island of Jeju becoming an EV-incentive heaven

Tue, Apr 1 2014

When it comes to providing some island EV love, we can point to Hawaii, which has been pushing hard for greater electric-vehicle adoption through subsidies and a broader charging network. Now, South Korea has Jeju. We're not sure if the surf is as good. Like Hawaii, Jeju is focusing on a "carbon-free" existence and lowered fossil-fuel dependency as a way to help the environment while addressing the extra expenses involved in providing fuel locally, Wards Auto says. Jeju, which is about 720 square miles, provides about $7,000 worth of EV incentives on top of those provided by the South Korean government. As a result, the cost of buying an EV can be cut in half. In the case of a Chevrolet Spark EV, going electric actually has a lower out-of-pocket price tag than buying a gas-powered counterpart on the island. South Korea's Ministry of Environment has earmarked about $14,000 in subsidies for each EV purchase, while 10 South Korean cities are adding on incentives anywhere from about $2,800 to $7,400 per vehicle. South Korean automaker Hyundai and affiliate Kia are just starting to do their part to boost the country's EV sales, which didn't even break the 800-unit mark last year. Kia recently said it will start making its 2015 model-year Soul EV in April, with sales debuting in South Korea by the end of the year. Hyundai is said to start selling its own EV starting in 2016. Insider trading ahead of Hyundai-Kia MPG debacle suspected

Fri, 21 Dec 2012

Reuters is reporting that large-scale insider trading may be at the heart of some particularly fishy stock-selling behavior, just prior to the original announcement about the Hyundai-Kia fuel economy ratings debacle.
On November 1st, Hyundai-Kia shares traded roughly 2.2 million times (the single highest-volume day of the year), and the stock price fell by about four percent. For reference, a standard daily trading volume for the stock in 2012 saw about 600k shares trading hands. On November 2nd, the company made public the bad news about the dropping fuel economy ratings for many of its models. In other words: No one outside of the company (and only a smallish group inside the company, we'd imagine) should have known anything about the impending bad news as of the first day of November. After the announcement, the stock price tanked, as you'd expect, and trading volume was way down as well.
Experts seem fully aware that the whole thing reeks of leaked information and subsequent insider trading. If chicanery on this sort of scale seems wacky to you, you'd be inline with the experts who report to Reuters that the level of trading is absolutely suspicious.

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky

Fri, 24 Aug 2012

It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.
