HEY EVERYONE, I HAVE A 2001 HYUNDAI ELANTRA WITH 126,347 MILES FOR SALE. LET ME START OFF BY SAYING THAT THIS ISN'T THE MOST PRISTINE OF CARS. IT IS A SALVAGED TITLE FROM A MINOR BUMPER ACCIDENT. IT HAS ITS FAIR SHARE OF DINGS AND DENTS. THIS CAR RUNS BUT HAS A FEW ISSUES SO LET ME LIST THEM OFF.

1. worn or damaged "constant velocity" (CV) joint. car has four such joints on the two front axles: two inboard joints and two outboard joints. The outboard joints are the ones that make a clicking sound when they go bad. When you turn the car makes a clicking noise. It does not effect the steering at all and i'm not sure how much it is to fix.

2. The break master cylinder leaks. Just had a brand new one installed but the mechanic did not have a dealer part so it leaks a LITTLE bit. You have to pour in brake fluid every couple weeks. You will know when to change it when the brake light comes on.

3. The check engine light is on because the O2 sensor is bad which means It is the primary measurement device for the fuel control computer in your car to know if the engine is too rich or too lean. The O2 sensor is active anytime it is hot enough, but the computer only uses this information in the closed loop mode. Closed loop is the operating mode where all engine control sensors including the Oxygen sensor are used to get best fuel economy, lowest emissions, and good power. So this pretty much means that the car gets a little bit lower miles per gallon.

4. I think there is a leak in one of the radiator hoses because every 3 or 4 months you have to refill the radiator fluid about 1/4 of a bottle.

5. On the drivers side the key got snapped off into the lock so you have to unlock it from the passengers side door.

Thats about all I can think of right now. If you have any questions at all or want to come take a look please feel free to text or call me at 916 730 0810. Happy car hunting!

No low ballers please.

WRC driver fills radiator with beer from sponsor Corona

Wed, 12 Mar 2014

Rallying requires lightning quick reflexes and the ability to turn off one's sense of self-preservation. This much is not in doubt. Anyone that's ever seen a rally car hurtle along a tree-lined spit of dirt road at high speeds could tell you that. What many people don't know is that it also requires a strong mechanical sense. Knowing how to repair one's car when far from the service garages is a must. A strong sense of ingenuity is pretty handy, as well.
It was that sense of ingenuity that came to the aid of Thierry Neuville (shown above during last weekend's Rally Mexico), a WRC driver for the Hyundai Motorsport team, after his i20 suffered a radiator leak during the drive back to service. Neuville and his co-driver, Nicolas Gilsoul, hopped out of the car, assessed the issue and realized they needed to patch the radiator leak and refill the coolant, which they were fresh out of. So, instead, they used beer.
The pair had been awarded a magnum-sized bottle of Corona from the Rally Mexico's corporate sponsor after the final power stage. As Neuville doesn't drink, they tossed the beer in the back of the i20 and set off for the garages. It was a good thing they did, as adding the Mexican lager to the car's system allowed them to limp back to service.

Hyundai and Kia adding Google Maps API to nav systems

Sat, 05 Jan 2013

Hyundai's Blue Link and Kia's UVO infotainment systems will be adding three Google features: Send2Car, Point of Interest Search and Local Search by Voice. Send2Car lets travelers send destinations to their vehicle's navigation system from a computer or via a mobile phone app, and the POI and local searches are continuously updated in Google Places' database. The new data service integrations mean that drivers will have more access to more destinations and be able to find them more quickly.
Hyundai hasn't said when the new features will debut nor on what model. Kia buyers will find them introduced on the 2014 Kia Sorento expected to roll into dealerships shortly, with the Forte sedan following. You'll find a press release on the updates below.

Hyundai NA CEO Krafcik awarded Automotive Executive of the Year

Mon, 24 Jun 2013

Hyundai North America CEO John Krafcik is this year's Automotive Executive of the Year. DVN Business Assurance presents the award each year, and this year, Robert Djurovic, executive director of the award program, said Krafcik won the nod because he "reshaped the way Hyundai approaches the market with consumer focus, compelling design and enduring value." While speaking at the award ceremony, Krafcik said that he was humbled by the recognition and that he accepted the accolade on behalf of Hyundai team members, dealers and suppliers.
Krafcik joined Hyundai in 2004 as the vice president of product development and took on duties as chief executive in 2008. Since then, the automaker has seen a flurry of new products and a substantial jump in market share. His efforts have also helmed Hyundai to two North American Car of the Year awards in 2009 and 2012 for the Genesis and Elantra, respectively. Krafcik also helped Hyundai navigate through the company's fuel economy debacle that began late last year, in which the automaker admitted it overstated the efficiency ratings of many of its automobiles.
The Automotive Executive of the Year Award has been recognizing industry leaders since 1964. You can read the full press release below for more information.
