2002 Hyundai Accent Hatchback 1.5l Manual on 2040-cars
Connellsville, Pennsylvania, United States
2002 hyundai accent 1.5l gas sipper My loss is your gain! This car is top notch handles great, rides like new, and runs like a top! It has the fuel sipping 1.5L SOHC four cylinder engine and 5 speed manual transmission. It has Power Steering and Power Brakes, factory A/C DELETE! It just turned 95k miles on the clock, but the mileage has a discrepancy, it shows the true mileage is 138k. It has had some bondo work done to the rear quarter panels before I bought it, as you can see in the photo, although, It is very much solid underneath, I had it grease rustproofed for the snowbelt. Please note that it has a dent in the passenger door area, a scratch on the front bumper cover, a small bubble of rust on the leading edge of the hood from a stone chip. The drivers seat bottom fabric is worn, there is a chip in the windshield glass, and the steering wheel has some sun fading. The transmission shifts great All the lights work exceptionally well, the electrics work, wipers work, and it runs fantastic. It has always been super reliable and has no check engine light or other issues. It has a clear pennsylvania title in my name. I sure will miss this car, in the past year it has had the following parts replaced. I worked at the auto parts store and got all the best quality replacement parts for it. * 4 - KYB STRUTS and BEARING PLATES * LOWER CONTROL ARMS * BALL JOINTS * NEW ROTORS, PADS, DRUMS, SHOES, PARKING BRAKE CABLES, HARDWARE AND SPRING KIT * WATER PUMP AND COOLANT FLUSH * TIMING BELT AND TENSIONER * VALVE COVER GASKET * EXHAUST FLEX PIPE * SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES * BATTERY * 4 FIRESTONE FUSION 14" TIRES ON UNIVERSAL MAG WHEELS (includes special socket) * FULLSIZE SPARE TIRE * TINTED WINDOWS AND VENT VISORS * WOOD SHIFTER KNOB * PIONEER BLUETOOTH CD PLAYER WITH 4 INFINITY SPEAKERS, AND SEPARATE SUBWOOFER WITH AMPLIFIER * GLASSPACK MUFFLER (ORIGINAL INCLUDED) * SUPER BRIGHT HEADLIGHTS All in all this is a fantastic little hatchback that has been adult owned and driven, garage kept, and maintained properly. It regularly delivers me 40 mpg on the highway commute. It is ready for many more miles without anything other than an occasional oil change and routine maintenance. If it weren't for my expanding family, I would keep this little bugger indefinitely as I had planned to when I bought it nearly two years ago. In the past year it has been driven less than 2k miles. It needs absolutely nothing and is ready to drive home and enjoy today. You can fly into the Latrobe or Connellsville airport, and drive the car home. PS word of advice in Pennsylvania, You WILL NEED PROOF OF INSURANCE FOR THIS VEHICLES SPECIFIC VIN # IF YOU INTEND TO PLATE AND DRIVE THIS VEHICLE HOME WITHIN THE 9-16 WEEKS IT TAKES FOR YOU TO RECEIVE YOUR NEW TITLE IN THE MAIL. Any questions, PLEASE ASK! Thank you!!

Weekly Recap: Hyundai scores NFL sponsorship after GM exits
Sat, Jul 4 2015Hyundai replaced General Motors as the official automotive sponsor of the NFL with a four-season deal that was announced this week. Hyundai gets exclusive sponsorship rights for mainstream and luxury cars, though not for pickups – as it doesn't have one in its current portfolio. "There may be another automotive truck sponsor, but not one that competes with our vehicle lineup," a Hyundai spokesman said in an email. That leaves the door open for another truckmaker to enter the fray. GM used the NFL to promote its GMC division, which makes pickups and sport-utility vehicles. The Detroit automaker decided to quit the sponsorship, which it had held since 2001, a GM spokesman said. Financials were not released, but ESPN said the sponsorship will cost Hyundai $50 million a year, double what GM paid. It gives Hyundai access to NFL trademarks for use in its marketing and advertising, and Hyundai will provide promotional vehicles to the league for the Super Bowl and other events. Hyundai celebrated the agreement by lighting up its Fountain Valley, CA, headquarters this week with a football field and the NFL logo. Hyundai's sister company, Kia, is the official automotive sponsor of the NBA. "We are huge football fans at Hyundai and feel there is no better venue to reach consumers, increase consideration, and tell the Hyundai brand story," Hyundai Motor America CEO Dave Zuchowski said in a statement. Hyundai will officially kick off its sponsorship when the NFL season begins on Sept. 10 with a primetime game featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. OTHER NEWS & NOTES Toyota Mirai rated at 67 mpge, 312-mile range The Environmental Protection Agency gave the Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell electric car a 67-miles-per-gallon-equivalent rating. The figure is for city, highway, and combined driving. The EPA also said the Mirai will have a 312-mile range. The sedan will arrive in dealerships in California this fall and will cost $57,500, though incentives can drop the price significantly. The Mirai will also be offered as a $499-per-month lease. Both come with three years or $15,000 worth of free fuel. Toyota plans to expand sales to the Northeast United States later. Hyundai's battle plan: More crossovers, no more Azera
Thu, Jan 28 2016We're living in a crossover world, and Hyundai is open about the fact that it's been struggling to meet demand for its utility models. Without production constraints, says Hyundai Motor America CEO Dave Zuchowski, the Tucson compact crossover would be outselling Hyundai's perennial volume model, the Elantra. There's a wide-reaching plan in place now to make sure Hyundai dealers are stocked with the models people want to buy. Step one involves upping output of existing models. Hyundai has brought tooling into its Montgomery, AL, factory to build Santa Fe Sport models alongside the Elantra and Sonata. (The bulk of Santa Fe Sport production takes place at the maxed-out facility in West Point, GA.) This will increase the model's annual production capacity by about 50,000 units. The new Tucson, which just went on sale last year, is being afforded an extra 50,000 or so units of capacity this year, which should put it ahead of the Elantra in the company's internal sales race. View 27 Photos The second part of the plan will bring new models. A B-segment crossover is in the works. This is a catch-up move to go up against several new models that seemingly popped out of nowhere: the Jeep Renegade, Fiat 500X, Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, Chevy Trax, and Nissan Juke. Toyota is the only other volume player still noticeably absent from, or at least not on the way to, this party, and that will be fixed with the next Scion model. The Genesis luxury brand has also promised crossover models, and we anticipate the engineers are doing all they can to get those to market as quickly as possible. Because Genesis models will be on platforms distinct from those Hyundai uses, it could be a couple years before the fancy utes land. When the lineup is filled out, bet on luxurious subcompact, compact, midsize, and fullsize crossovers. There's a good chance Genesis crossovers will outnumber its car models. As for the Hyundai brand's car models, remember the Azera? Neither does anyone else. Getting rid of this slow-selling sedan will help free up capacity as well as showroom space. The fullsize sedan is likely to continue on in other markets – specifically the home market, where it's called the Grandeur – but Hyundai Motors America won't go through the trouble of getting it ready to sell (or not sell) in the States any more.
Hyundai readying 708-hp Sonata for SEMA
Mon, Sep 22 2014For the past two years at the SEMA show, the folks at Bisimoto Engineering have taken one of Hyundai's models and tuned it up to levels of power previously unimaginable. It started in 2012 with a 600-horsepower Elantra GT, and they outdid themselves last year with a 1,000-hp Genesis Coupe. This year Bisimoto's tuners are teasing their latest wild creation by starting with a normal 2015 Sonata and turning the wick up to 708 hp thanks to a long list of engine mods. The key in this massive injection of power is taking the regular 2.4-liter Theta-II four-cylinder engine and doing everything necessary so that it can actually withstand so much additional strain. That means introducing forged pistons and connecting rods and an improved valvetrain with new cams, plus a high-boost turbocharger to really up the ante. It's all then mated to a six-speed manual to get things rolling. "After hundreds of hours of testing, failure analysis and prototyping, 18 new products will be engineered and produced in house to produce 708 horsepower from the Sonata," said Bisi Ezerioha, owner of Bisimoto Engineering in Hyundai's release. While it might be pretty cool to find a 708-hp Sonata that looked completely stock at first glance, this is for the SEMA show after all, and it's all about showing off there. So in addition to the huge increase in horsepower, the Hyundai gets a complete aero upgrade, a coil-over suspension and a roll cage inside, in addition to other improvements. At the moment, only the rear of the car is being teased ahead of the November 4 reveal. Until we get to see more, scroll down to read Bisimoto's entire parts list to turn Sonata from a commuter into a racer. HYUNDAI PARTNERS WITH BISIMOTO FOR A THIRD YEAR TO CREATE 708 HORSEPOWER FLEX-FUEL 2015 SONATA 22/09/14 Bisimoto Engineering Focuses on Strengthening and Reliability to Create Most-Powerful Sonata Ever FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Sept. 22, 2014 – For the third year in a row, Hyundai is partnering with the powertrain gurus at Bisimoto Engineering, this time to create a 708 horsepower Sonata for the 2014 SEMA show in Las Vegas. Bisimoto's team specializes in extracting huge output from Hyundai's engines, like the 1000 horsepower Bisimoto Genesis Coupe that was built for last year's SEMA show. For this year's show, the team is using Hyundai's 2.4-liter "Theta-II" 4-cylinder engine as the starting point for their build.
