Up for sale is a 2000 Hyundai Accent GL 4-Door Sedan.Black Exterior/Charcoal Gray Interior. This car is an excellent mechanically driven vehicle. It starts right up every time and it has never broken down on me .It has 4 relatively new tires and I recently put front brakes on the car.The air conditioner blows ice cold air every time.It has a newer battery installed and the alternator was also replaced.I recently tuned the car up with 4 new spark plugs and 4 new wires, air filters and an oil change.I change the oil regulary. This car also comes with a custom JVC AM/FM/CD player head unit that is also smart phone compatible so you can play your down loaded music on it..I installed 4 new Pioneer speakers.2-front,and 2-rear.Everything is working on the car inside and out.The interior is a charcoal nylon cloth color and it is very clean inside the car.The dashboard is solid and the seats are in nice shape with the exception of a small cigarette hole on the front passenger seat. That was there ever since i bought the car back in February of 2010.I will repair it.I do not smoke.I will also put a new set of floor mats inside the car.I give the interior of this car a solid 8.Mechanically,this car runs great. It has never broken down on me.There are also no fluid leaks. The transmission shifts properly and the engine runs smooth with no noises.i did have the overdrive in the transmission replaced. The original overdrive was showing wear so i just had it replaced for 500.00..I also replaced the right passenger CVC axle because the rubber boot split and that caused it to wear the bushing..That cost me about 135.00.

As for the Exterior,it is black and the paint still has shine to it ..Although,there are some dings and scratches on the outside of the vehicle..There are also a couple of very small area rust spots on the vehicle..Nothing too serious, and it's been there since i bought the vehicle 3 years ago and it hasn't gotten any worst..The exterior I'de give a 6-7..The paint is not that bad. It's the dings and dents that are the issue. This car isn't a mint condition shape car but i'll say one thing about this baby,is that it always starts right up and it goes all of the time for me.I can count on this car to get me to where i want to go and for cheap. This car is a great transportation vehicle.Or it can be a nice starter car for a kid going to school..And it gets awesome gas mileage..26 city-34 highway..I have the original sticker price papers to validate that. So, to sum this car up is to say that it is a nice little gas saver with some nice extras,(ice cold air conditioning,a really nice sounding stereo system). And it's very easy to drive and it has been very dependable for us.I am only selling this car because we own 4 other cars.A lincoln town car,A chevy malibu that's also good on gas,A lexus and a Classic Mercury Grand Marquis.we need big luxury cars now for our comfort.
So thanks for reading about my 2000 Hyundai Accent and now you can decide weather it is or isn't the car for you .The price is right in my opinion. There is a no reserve on the bidding and the starting price is dirt cheap..I paid about 3 times that amount 3 years ago for it.So good luck and bid with confidence and honesty. And thanks again!!!

Hyundai planning N-badged Genesis performance models

Thu, Jan 14 2016

Speaking with Australian media ahead of the launch of the new Genesis G90 at the Detroit Auto Show this week, Albert Biermann, performance chief at Hyundai, confirmed that there will be N-badged versions of both Hyundai and Genesis models. And he ought to know. Biermann was recently poached over to South Korea after having served as chief engineer at BMW's M division. "N is a sub-brand and with N high-performance cars we work for both brands — so you have to be ready for N versions for Hyundai and for Genesis," said Biermann. "We have a nice roadmap for the next five years... There will be Genesis cars included" that will offer "the full package... real racetrack-going high-performance cars." The first model that the N division is expected to fettle is the next-generation i30 hatchback – Hyundai's challenger to the likes of the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf. That ought to give the Korean automaker a solid rival to the Focus ST and Golf GTI, and a venue for Hyundai to showcase everything it's learned in the World Rally Championship. But that's not all Biermann and company have in store. Hyundai is working on a new Genesis G70 that will take on the BMW 3 Series and its many competitors. The G70 would make a prime candidate for the N treatment, and with the benefit of Biermann's expertise, it could prove the sweet-handling and hot-performing Korean sports sedan we've been waiting for. We wouldn't at all be surprised, either, to see N performance versions of the new G90, the G80 that was launched just recently as the Hyundai Genesis sedan, and other future products under both brands – particularly a successor to the Genesis Coupe. 2015 Hyundai Sonata Eco nets 38 mpg from 1.6L turbo, 7-speed DCT

Thu, 19 Jun 2014

The wholly renewed 2015 Hyundai Sonata is on the verge of launching here in the United States, but it appears there's a bit more to the story first told at the New York Auto Show earlier this year. Hyundai has just revealed the first images and details of the Sonata Eco, a new entry in its midsize sedan lineup that combines a small, turbocharged engine and dual-clutch transmission to achieve an estimated 28 miles per gallon in the city and 38 mpg highway.
That new powertrain is Hyundai's 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four, rated at 177 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. That power is sent through a new, seven-speed dual-clutch 'box - the first gearbox of its type in the segment. Hyundai points out that the Sonata Eco's 32 mpg combined rating offers a 10 percent improvement over the 2015 Sonata SE with its 2.4-liter naturally aspirated inline-four.
38 mpg highway is pretty impressive, especially considering rivals like Toyota's electrified Camry Hybrid musters up only one better, with 39 mpg on the highway (though its 43 mpg city fuel economy is, obviously, much better). And while Hyundai still has not detailed news about a next-generation Sonata Hybrid, we've heard the company is still committed to offering one.

Ford fights back against patent trolls

Fri, Feb 13 2015

Some people are just awful. Some organizations are just as awful. And when those people join those organizations, we get stories like this one, where Ford has spent the past several years combatting so-called patent trolls. According to Automotive News, these malicious organizations have filed over a dozen lawsuits against the company since 2012. They work by purchasing patents, only to later accuse companies of misusing intellectual property, despite the fact that the so-called patent assertion companies never actually, you know, do anything with said intellectual property. AN reports that both Hyundai and Toyota have been victimized by these companies, with the former forced to pay $11.5 million to a company called Clear With Computers. Toyota, meanwhile, settled with Paice LLC, over its hybrid tech. The world's largest automaker agreed to pay $5 million, on top of $98 for every hybrid it sold (if the terms of the deal included each of the roughly 1.5 million hybrids Toyota sold since 2000, the company would have owed $147 million). Including the previous couple of examples, AN reports 107 suits were filed against automakers last year alone. But Ford is taking action to prevent further troubles... kind of. The company has signed on with a firm called RPX, in what sounds strangely like a protection racket. Automakers like Ford pay RPX around $1.5 million each year for access to its catalog of patents, which it spent nearly $1 billion building. "We take the protection and licensing of patented innovations very seriously," Ford told AN via email. "And as many smart businesses are doing, we are taking proactive steps to protect against those seeking patent infringement litigation." What are your thoughts on this? Should this patent business be better managed? Is it reasonable that companies purchase patents only to file suit against the companies that build actual products? Have your say in Comments.
