I purchased the car when it had only 5,000 miles in 2009. Have treated her right ever since. I’ve used it mostly as a commuter car, hence the low mileage. I am going to attend Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and will no longer be requiring a vehicle. This vehicle definitely provides that sporty look most people look for, without the trouble of convertibles with leaking issues.

Pros:
  • Runs perfectly and Low mileage.
  • Garage kept, has only felt snow a handful of times.
  • Only one small scratch (about the side of a quarter) on the front bumper lower lip.
  • Injen Cold air intake system (improves overall mpg)
  • RaceLand Coilover system (provides adjustable height and comfortable sport
  • suspension) Stock suspension is also available. Lowering springs will be included if you are looking for a bouncier ride.
  • Black leather interior.
  • Pioneer AVH-P3200 headunit (touchscreen w/ usb adaptor)
  • KDM OEM white auto-folding side view mirrors (stock mirrors will be included)
  • OEM 17 inch 10 spoke aluminum alloy rims, plasti-dipped white
  • Low OEM spoiler plasti-dipped white
  • Synthetic oil change every 4,500 miles
  • Spare tire is included.
  • HID low (ice blue) and high beams (ice blue); Fog lights are hyper yellow.
  • Heater heats up in less than five minutes.
  • Never been smoked in and never had any pets inside (I actually have asthma)
  • Never raced or driven hard (I have no points on my license)
  • Car recently passed a NYS inspection in July.
  • Automatic transmission with shift-tronic clutch-less shifting

Cons:
  • A/C needs to be recharged (I never use A/C)
  • Tires are due for a change in November. (I purchase new tires out every 10,000 miles)
  • Brakes are due for a change in December. (I have a mechanic change the brakes every 30,000 miles)
  • Minor car incident (I was rear ended in traffic and didn’t like the dent on the rear bumper, so I went through insurance to have the bumper replaced with a new OEM bumper.)
  • Tire alignment is needed. (I recently raised the coilover suspension by half an inch, which resulted in all of my tires being straight, but my steering wheel being tilted to the right about 3 degrees) fl easily fixed by any car enthusiasts

Car with listed light modifications and extra parts comes about to a kbb of about 13,250. I am not trying to make money off of this vehicle. I am just looking for someone to care for this vehicle as I have. I am looking for 11,500. I will be willing to negotiate if the buyer is looking to procure this vehicle for a student.

2014 Hyundai Veloster Turbo R-Spec loses creature comforts, gains sporting equipment [UPDATE]

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

Hyundai unveiled the Veloster Turbo R-Spec at the LA Auto Show yesterday, and it's touted as a high-performance model without some of the standard features usually found on the Veloster Turbo, such as proximity-key entry with push-button start, premium gauge cluster, side-repeater mirrors, driver's auto-up window, high-gloss interior trim and heated leather seats.
Like the other three R-Spec models Hyundai has released (Genesis Coupe 2.0T R-Spec, Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec and Genesis 5.0 R-Spec), the Veloster Turbo R-Spec skimps on interior appointments to keep the price down. But Hyundai thinks that people who buy it don't want that equipment anyway, and would rather install aftermarket goodies. The car is priced at $22,110 (including the $810 destination fee), which makes it the least expensive Veloster Turbo model.
The pared-down hatchback's special features include R-Spec-specific sport suspension, retuned steering and a B&M short-shifter for the six-speed manual transmission (the R-Spec isn't offered with an automatic). That's all great, but we can do without the red-accented side skirts and front splitter, which look just as tacky in person as they do in pictures.

Sonata, Elantra driving down Hyundai quality scores

Wed, 26 Feb 2014

Hyundai was the butt of many jokes in the auto industry when it first entered the US market, but since then, it has forged ahead and built cars that stand with the best in their respective segments. The 2011 Sonata and 2011 Elantra were seen as the apotheosis of the brand's forward progress when they were introduced, but falling J.D. Power and Associates Dependability Study results may actually cause them to hurt the company's hard-earned reputation.
J.D Power's study examines three-year-old vehicles for problems per 100 vehicles. Since the 2011 study for 2008 model year cars, Hyundai has fallen from 10th overall with 132 problems to 27th in the 2014 survey of 2011 model year vehicles with 169 problems. It was also Hyundai's second consecutive year of an increase in reported problems. According to Automotive News, many of these problems are due to faults with the Sonata and Elantra, but J.D. Power didn't identify specifically what issues caused Hyundai's dependability to tumble so far down the list. However, the study found that, on average, reliability fell throughout the industry for the first time since 1998.
Getting the Sonata and Elantra right are vital to Hyundai. In 2013, they were the company's best-selling cars. "We'll be closely going through the data to see where improvements need to be made. Hyundai's goal is nothing short of quality leadership, and the report shows we have work to do," Hyundai spokesperson Jim Trainor said in an email to Autoblog.
