2005 Hyundai Tiburon Gt - *no Rust* on 2040-cars
Hooksett, New Hampshire, United States
I am finally selling my beloved 2005 Hyundai Tiburon GT as it is time to upgrade. It is clean and a non-smoker. Do not be wary about the rebuilt title as I have put a lot of work into this car. I have retained all the paperwork back when I bought the car as salvage in 2011. I bought the car in South Carolina and it has only been through one winter season (went to car wash every two weeks) so NO RUST. I would like to note that I do drive this still, so the mileage may be slighter higher than listed here.
General Maintenance: - Car aligned and tires/wheels balanced 6/15/14 - All struts were replaced in 2012 - Transmission fluid changed in 2013 - Timing Belt and other belts replaced in 2014 - Replaced power steering hoses due to leak in 2014 - Synthetic oil with OEM oil filter replaced every 5k miles Modifications: - Debadged for Tuscani (korean version of Tiburon) symbols - 2011 - Upgraded spoiler - 2011 - Tinted windows - 27% - 2012 - New front rotor and pads - 2013 - Replaced rear rotor and pads in 2014 due to locking caliper (which is fixed) - Calipers painted black - 2013 - Upgraded wheels and tires - 2013 - 18" Axis Sport Xfactor with 225/40ZR18 - Purchased winter tires for stock rims (tires used two seasons) - 2013 - Injen short ram - 2012 - DC Sports Cat-back exhaust (nice low growl) - 2013 - ARK GT-F lowering springs - 2012 - Eibach Camber bolts for front tires - 2012 - Beltronics 955 Radar Dectector hardwired in (turns on with car, shuts off when car off) - 2012 - Viper Security Alarm System installed - 2013 - Upgraded stereo system with all new speakers and used subwoofer - 2012 - Replaced dash with 2008 model - 2013 - Upgraded shift knob - 2013 This car is definitely a head turner and is a ton of fun to drive. If I had the space to keep it around I would but unfortunately I do not. If you want a sports car and want one that sounds good too, look no further. I have nothing to hide with this car, so any questions are welcome. I AM SELLING THIS VEHICLE AS IS WITH NO GUARANTEES, WARRANTIES OR OTHER COVENANTS. |

Super Bowl car commercials: Follow along as we riff on them live
Sun, Feb 2 2020Join Autoblog editors Sunday starting around 6:30 p.m. ET as we react to all of the car commercials during the game. We know Hummer, Porsche, Hyundai and others will have splashy ads, and naturally, there's usually a few surprises. Whether you're a Chiefs or 49ers fan — or don't care about football — the commercials are always a highlight. And for us, the car spots are the most intriguing. Weigh in with your own thoughts in the comments section. Let's kick off.  FIRST QUARTER Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore liveblogs the first quarter. F9 We'll count this as a car commercial. The latest edition of the Fast & Furious looks like it well, will have cars. We'll punt on further comment. PORSCHE I like it. Creative. Sort of a Night at the Museum feel. The guards stage a theft and then a car chase. The Taycan looked good. Get fired up — the future for Porsche is electric. The spot is meant to illustrate how fun that can be. I don't need any convincing.  SECOND QUARTER Associate Editor Byron Hurd is liveblogging the second quarter. HYUNDAI Hyundai checked in super early with their Sonata "Smaht Pahk" commercial, which manages to score points for being both cute and clever while also being a fairly good commercial in a vacuum. We saw it last week, so there were no surprises here, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. Fun note: If you go to the Sonata landing page on Hyundai's web site, you can choose "plain old English" or "the Boston way" for your language; the latter will translate the page. Enjoy. FORD Hi ho, West Coast Editor James Riswick here. Apparently, the guys in Detroit didn't get the Mustang Mach E ad featuring Idris Elba and a whole boat load of awesome old Mustangs. Pretty sure it's bound to be viewed the exact same way as the car itself: traditionalists will be aghast, while non-car people will be intrigued by a new, all-electric, crossover version of one of the few cars they've heard of. GENESIS They're coming more rapidly now. Genesis gets some love thanks to Chrissy Teigen and John Legend; this was another known quantity, but Hyundai's luxury brand managed another solid entry here thanks to its choice of stars. Teigen and Legend got the chance to throw back to the latter's "Sexiest Man Alive" honors, which Teigen often teases him for. Another solid all-around spot. GMC/HUMMER Are there just no surprises left? Don't tell me; I know the answer. LeBron James fronts the revived Hummer, which will be an EV sold as a GMC.
Hyundai-Kia claims 'greenest' title from Honda, Big Three still big losers
Tue, May 27 2014Let's start with the good news. On average, any new car you buy in the US today will be 43 percent cleaner than any average new car in 1998. Here's some more good news, for Korea anyway, Hyundai-Kia has been named the cleanest automaker in the latest study by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), which looked at 2013 model year vehicles sold between October 2012 and September 2013 from the top eight automakers (by volume). The bad news? The big three Detroit automakers are, on average, still making the dirtiest cars in the showroom. The big three Detroit automakers are, on average, still making the dirtiest cars in the showroom. The problem for Ford, General Motors and Chrysler lies in their trucks, which sell well but tend to have pretty bad fuel economy (compared to sedans, at least). The UCS calculates its list by averaging "the per-mile emissions for each light-duty vehicle sold by each automaker" and then factors in "the fuel economy, fuel type, and sales volume of each type of vehicle sold by each automaker" and "the upstream global warming emissions from producing and distributing the fuel used by each vehicle, as well as emissions from the vehicles themselves." That all means that, the more trucks you sell, the worse you're gonna do. Then again, the more trucks you sell with 18 mpg, the more you're helping drivers put CO2 into the air, so the UCS is doing a fair comparison of the things that this study is trying to track. More details on the methodology are available on page six of the study PDF. In case you were wondering (we were), UCS did make sure to use the revised mpg numbers for Hyundai and Kia models that were originally overstated. Hyundai has apologized for and fixed those figures and even with the new, corrected numbers, Hyundai's total emissions are dropping at a rate of about three percent a year, enough for it to take the greenest company title for the first time. In fact, this is the first time that an automaker other than Honda has come out on top in the UCS ranking, which has been released six times now, including the first one in 2000 (which looked at 1998 model year data). In 2010, Honda was almost knocked off the winner's perch by both Hyundai and Toyota, but managed to hold on. Chrysler, on the other hand, came in dead last (again) in the ranking of the top eight automakers, snagging the "dirtiest tailpipe" award once (again). Read the UCS' press release below.
2015 Hyundai Sonata gets a shadowy preview
Tue, 04 Mar 2014It's only been on the market since 2010, but such is the hectic pace of the family sedan world that the Hyundai Sonata finds itself as the elder statesmen of the midsize segment. The current, sixth-generation sedan put the Korean automaker in the hunt with its audacious Fluidic Sculpture styling and bold powertrain choices (it was the first to eschew a six-cylinder option), but time has brought with it tough new competitors from the likes of Ford, Honda, Mazda and others, so it's time for a new model.
Previewed here in this official teaser rendering is an all-new, seventh-generation model, and at first blush, it looks markedly more conservative and refined than its predecessor, with more restrained surfacing and a more traditional six-sided grille. Scheduled for a world premiere in Korea later this month, the Sonata is expected to make its first show circuit appearance at the New York Auto Show in April.
Built atop a platform with significantly more advanced high-strength steel (51 percent vs. 21 percent) and increased use of structural adhesives, the Sonata's bones promise to be both more rigid (by 40 percent) and lighter. Cloaked in Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 bodywork, so far Hyundai isn't saying much about powertrain updates, but it is trumpeting a redesigned interior with a new infotainment interface and redesigned seats.
