Hyundai sketches out HND-9 luxury sports coupe concept ahead of Seoul

Hyundai has dropped a couple of rendered looks at its forthcoming HND-9 luxury sports coupe concept, which will debut at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show. While full details probably won't be released until then, the Korean automaker has said the butterfly-doored machine will bow with a direct-injection, turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 engine good for around 365 horsepower. The mill is bolted to an eight-speed automatic transmission and puts its grunt to the rear tires. While the doors are pure showcar theater, we dig the Aston-inspired long nose and boisterous rear haunches.
Look for the car to receive an actual introduction on March 28, and while we don't expect to see the HND-9 on showroom floors any time soon, some of the creation's design language may make it to production models. Check out the full press release below.

Bisimoto Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a 1,000-horsepower tuner dream

The big guns are starting to roll out at the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. This is the Bisimoto Hyundai Genesis Coupe, the promised 1,000-horsepower monster that was first shown at the end of September. We ventured across the SEMA floor to get an up-close look at this hugely powerful two-door.
The list of aftermarket parts fitted to this Genesis Coupe is extensive, ranging from that huge intercooler up front to a pair of Bisimoto/Turbonetics turbochargers to an AEM engine management system, all of which allow the 3.8-liter V6 to produce upwards of 1,000 hp. A full roll cage and Buddy Club seats and harnesses are fitted to the cabin, while a coil-over suspension blesses this Genny with some extra agility. We don't know what size Toyo R888 R-Compound tires those are, but as they're fitted to 20x11-inch wheels in back and 20x9.5-inch wheels in front, we're betting they're huge. Hyundai Tucson 'The Walking Dead' special edition is real and wants braaaiiinnnnss

Hyundai's association with The Walking Dead is, for a lot of fans, limited to the spearmint-green Tucson that Rick, Darryl, Maggie and Herschel drive around on AMC's hit show. But the tie-up with the series extends beyond that, going right into the graphic novels that inspired the TV show.
In celebration of 10 years of Robert Kirkman's series of comics, Hyundai has built special edition Tucson that, unlike its previous zombie survival cars, is going to see production. "The Walking Dead" Special Edition Tucson uses the same 2.4-liter engine found in the standard CUV, with 182 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. In fact, this car is largely similar to your everyday Tucson, at least in terms of equipment.
It does add a few things which might be handy in the event of a zombie apocalypse, though. A Zombie Survival Kit, which Hyundai describes as a "Walking Dead 72-hour survivalist's backpack, a necessary item for any zombie 'prepper,'" is included, as are body decals for all four of the comic book's factions and a special splash screen on the navigation system. The exterior is finished in Ash Black and sports red accents, along with special edition badges. A cross-railed roof rack and mudguards round out the interior enhancements.
