2012 Genesis Coupe 2.0 Turbo A/t, Acqua Minerale Blue, Black Interior on 2040-cars
Stillwater, Oklahoma, United States
History: I purchased this vehicle new in March 2012. This car has been garage or carport kept since it was new, and I have gone to great lengths to not park by ANYONE! It has 52,011 miles, and it has been serviced by Hyundai only. Fantastic car I hate to say goodbye to. Features: It is an Acqua Minerale Blue Genesis Coupe, 2.0L Turbo Intercooled Dual CVVT Engine w/210 HP. It is equipped with a 5-speed Automatic Transmission w/ Paddle Shift. It is powered by a Rear-Wheel-Drive Powertrain, and has a Sport suspension Calibration, Five-link independent Rear Suspension, 18 inch Alloy Wheels, Keyless entry and Alarm, Power windows, mirrors and locks. Interior features a Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel and Shifter, Satellite Radio, six speaker system, Steering wheel audio and cruise control, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, Rear Window Defroster, and Front map lights. Condition: There are no structural defects to the body, and the paint flaws consist of one small chip on the driver door that was present when I purchased the car, one scrap about 1 cm long on the driver door by the door handle, one small door ding on the right rear fender that can only be seen when standing just right, some very small road chips on the nose, and some scuffing under the front nose from parking too close to curbs. Hyundai bringing Elantra GT, special edition Veloster to Chicago
Thu, Feb 5 2015Hyundai will be bringing two new products to next week's Chicago Auto Show, a company source confirmed to Autoblog. The first is a freshened version of the Elantra GT – pictured above as a 2014 model – and the other is a special edition of the Veloster hatchback. Our source was mum about specific details, but said that the Elantra GT refresh was simply that – nothing crazy or all-new. In other words, we expect some lightly touched-up styling, and perhaps some improvements to the interior refinement, infotainment and technology, and maybe powertrain. As we reported earlier, the two-door Coupe is no longer part of the Elantra lineup, so these changes might be a way for Hyundai to further differentiate the GT from the sedan. As for that Veloster, it won't be anything revolutionary, either. Hyundai has historically used the Chicago show to debut special editions of the Veloster – take a look at last year's Re:Flex, for example – and we expect the same this time around. Perhaps a new matte paint finish? That's been a popular choice for Veloster Turbo buyers, after all. Whatever may be in store, we'll have the full scoop next week during the Chicago festivities. Stay tuned. Related Video: Featured Gallery 2014 Hyundai Elantra GT View 21 Photos Chicago Auto Show Hyundai Hatchback Economy Cars hyundai elantra gt
Hyundai’s N division will tune electrics, steer clear of Genesis
Tue, Apr 2 2019At Hyundai's Namyang proving ground in a small garage emblazoned with a giant "N," Albert Biermann, the ex-BMW engineer who now heads up vehicle development for the Korean brand, recently provided a few hints about what to expect from Hyundai's nascent performance sub-brand — and that includes EVs. "We are looking for the right ideas of how to transfer the craziness of N into electrification," he said. That could be "a full EV [and] also could be a hybrid." To date, we've seen the Veloster N introduced last fall in the United States, followed by the recently announced Elantra GT N Line. Europe has the i30 N in hatchback and fastback body styles. Biermann says, "We will expand also into segments we are not in now," including "something a little bit smaller," as well as into "a different type of vehicle." Biermann also said we can expect a more powerful version of the new 2020 Hyundai Sonata — which we've just reviewed, and which will launch in the United States with a 180-hp 1.6-liter turbo and a 191-hp 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four. But he stopped short of saying whether it would be an N or an N Line model. And it appears that the N expansion will not extend to Genesis. "There are no plans yet to make a sub-label for Genesis like we did with N for Hyundai," Biermann said. This despite the fact that nearly all of its rivals have branched out in that direction. For now, it seems, the G70 Sport is as sporty as it will get over at Genesis.
Hyundai pulls motorsports in US, parts ways with Rhys Millen Racing
Wed, Dec 10 2014Automakers don't necessarily undertake racing programs in proportion to their size. A company like Ferrari or McLaren, for example, may be small, but their racing programs are huge. The inverse could be said of a company like Hyundai, which has grown to rank among the largest automakers in the world, but has traditionally maintained a relatively short reach when it comes to racing. And now it's getting even smaller as the company is shutting down its entire motorsport program in the United States. Not that the program was that big to begin with in the first place. Although Hyundai recently launched a factory effort in the World Rally Championship, in North America its competition activities revolved essentially around Rhys Millen Racing, the California-based outfit with which the Korean automaker has tackled Pikes Peak, Formula Drift and the Global RallyCross Series – the latter of which Millen describes as "arguably the fastest most exciting form of racing to hit the US in years." But now Millen has announced that Hyundai has withdrawn from their partnership that has stood for six years. Without support from the automaker, Rhys Millen is putting up his Hyundais for sale or rental to any privateer team interested in getting in on the RallyCross action, while the team looks for a new partner with which to move forward. As for Hyundai, it seems the automaker may have stretched its motorsport budget a little thin with the WRC effort, on which it will now apparently rely to establish its racing cred. We reached out to Hyundai for clarification on its future motorsport plans in America, but representatives weren't immediately available for comment. We will update this story when and if we hear back.
