Vegas dealer sets world record with 218-Hyundai parade

How many Hyundais would you need to gather in one parade to set a world record? 218, it turns out. That's how many of the Korean automobiles gathered for a recent procession which has now been certified by Guinness as a world record. The event was orchestrated by Henderson Hyundai just outside of Las Vegas, NV, raising $4,000 for the STOP DUI campaign. Though the parade was actually held back in December as part of National Impaired Driving Prevention Month, it was just verified by Guinness now, with each of the 218 motorists to receive a certificate of participation at a celebratory event at the dealership this coming Saturday. The record had been previously set by Lithuanian business consulting firm UAB SDG. Of course that's just the record for Hyundais specifically. Guinness also keeps records of other brands and vehicle types as well. Ram, for example, set the record for the most pickups in a parade this past April at 451, while a procession of 964 Ferraris set another record at Silverstone in 2012. Sketch teases next-gen Hyundai Elantra

Hyundai is giving us a good look at the next-gen Elantra in a teaser sketch, and the company is overhauling the sedan's styling for the new model. It sports a simple design that's devoid of much ornamentation, and you can just spot the corners of the hexagonal grille up front. The headlights now narrowly squint rather than rising up the fenders. The roof arches gracefully over the passenger compartment for a coupe-like shape, and a crease down the shoulders flows to the taillights, the tip of which you can barely see at the back. Hyundai already confirmed the new Elantra's debut at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show in November. A leak earlier this year also purported to show an actual photo of the 2016 model for the Korean market, but that vehicle had a significantly different front end than this one. Learning To Love Understand You
I will admit, I haven't had the nicest things to say about our long-term 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo since its arrival in our fleet earlier this year. I can't exactly say that I've bonded with our turbocharged Hyundai, despite the fact that I've driven it quite a bit since its arrival in the Autoblog Garage. Several of my friends will no doubt recall me saying things like, "I love everything about this car - except driving it," which is a shame, since the driving aspect is what's supposed to make this car so special. I'm a big fan of the base Veloster, and this one has the extra power bump that the naturally aspirated could really benefit from. So what gives?
Recently, I took a trip to the south of France, where I drove the brand-new Ford Fiesta ST along the lovely roads of the Alps. I adored that car - it's everything a hot hatch should be, and it's priced right, too. But when I came home and picked up the Veloster Turbo at the airport, I found myself disappointed. The Ford I drove in Europe was similar to the Hyundai in terms of size, function, equipment and price, but it was far better to drive. To be fair, that car wasn't even out to benchmark when the Veloster Turbo debuted, but my already sour feelings only got worse at that moment.
