2002 Hummer H1 - Fresh Overhaul on 2040-cars
Golden, Colorado, United States
2002 Hummer H1 Open Top (soft top)
Complete overhaul completed November 2013. Includes: - Removed suspension, cleaned, degreased, painted, etc. Contorl arms and chassis are painted gloss black with an industrial paint for long wear life. - All suspension and steering parts are new with new hardware - Powdercoated metal parts that have been removed. This is the proper way to restore a vehicle. Most parts powdercoated black, however the springs, d-rings, and under carriaget proection were powdercoated gun metal greay for a very rich look. - Truck painted satin black metallic, this is a very uncommon color that looks amazing and is easy to keep clean (black is always hard because it's gloss, but with a satin finish it's amazing the difference). I saw this color on a 2014 Mercedes G63 and they called it "Designo Black" and I had to have it. Matches the wheels and dark grey powdercoated metal very nicely. During this overhaul we remove the entire drivetrain, cleaned and chassis painted everything, and reinstalled the drivetrain with all new hardware on everything. You could probably eat off of the bottom of this one! This Hummer has 17" 2-piece dual beadlock aluminum Hutchinson wheels (these are like $1800/ea + tires). The softtop is new also. This is a really nice truck! Please contact me via email or phone and we can discuss this Hummer. We specialize in Hummer H1's and have 5 listed for sale currently. We can recommend some financing options if necessary also. We manufacture Hummer specific accessories such as a steering system upgrade (retrofits the Alpha steering gear onto the 92-04 Hummer frame), air ride suspension, etc. Ebay's auto history report doesn't seem to be working for this VIN. I am uploading a copy of the VIN and I can send you a CarFax (just email me). I am the 2nd owner, the vehicle was purchased at the local dealership here in Denver and the previous owner was near Vail CO. BigDogOffroad. com |

Luxury carmakers make way more than just cars
Tue, Feb 24 2015Whether it's as simple as Ferrari offering model cars or as opulent as Bugatti with an $84,000-belt buckle, practically every automaker does more than just sell cars to keep their brands visible. The profits from these ventures might not be enough to keep the lights on, but in such a competitive industry, any extra cash is welcome. For the automakers that get licensing just right, there is a ton of profit to be made. According to a recent story examining the practice by The New York Times, Ferrari makes around $2.6 billion from merchandising each year, and General Motors tops that at $3.5 billion. Beyond just a profit center, merchandising can also protect an automaker's name. Take Hummer for example. The GM division shut down years ago, but it has continued to produce licensed cologne on sale around the world. "Because we still have the active fragrance, we're protecting the brand if we ever decide to bring it back," Gene Reamer, a GM licensing senior manager, told the Times. The whole piece is a fascinating look into this often ignored, but quite lucrative facet of the auto business. Read it for yourself, here. GMC Hummer EV SUV prototypes hit the trails in Moab
Fri, May 20 2022It seems like GMC's new Hummer EV pickup only just hit the market, but it's almost time to roll the hype train back through for the next installment: the SUV. GM President Mark Reuss shared images of some prototypes crawling on the rocks outside Moab in what he called "final testing validation" ahead of the SUV's projected arrival in showrooms some time in early 2023. "With its aggressive 49-degree departure angle and tight turning radius of just 35.4-feet, the HUMMER EV SUV’s maneuverability, capability and performance make it an off-road supertruck," Reuss said in the post accompanying the photos. The over-the-river-and-through-the-woods routine depicted in the photos doesn't reveal much we don't already know about the forthcoming electric 4x4, but we can at least contextualize that 49-degree departure angle; the best you'll get from any Jeep Wrangler currently on sale is 40.4 degrees. GMC's Hummer SUV will launch early next year with an 830-horsepower drivetrain, offering roughly 300 miles of driving range. Pricing will start at $105,595 before options. Later in 2023, GMC will release an EV2X variant with up to 625 horsepower, similar range and an $89,995 price tag. Sell your own: 2006 Hummer H3

Quickly create listings with up to six photos and reach millions of buyers. Log in and create your free listings. At the time of the Hummer launch in 1992, America's mood was pretty good, we'd pushed Iraq out of Kuwait, and the economy headed for an uptick. It may not have been the best of times, but it was the perfect time to introduce a thirsty, in-your-face SUV. Regrettably, in the following decade we suffered 9/11, were waging two wars, and then the economic downturn struck. And despite the relative sanity offered by the smaller H3, GM entered into Chapter 11 in 2009 and killed off Hummer. With relatively few sold in the five model years it was offered, finding a clean H3 is a challenge. We like the H3's smaller footprint - relative to the huge H1 and Tahoe-based H2 - and the quirkiness of an inline 5-cylinder matched to a 5-speed manual. With this for-sale example, offered in Arkansas, you'll find mileage perfectly reasonable for a vehicle now 12 years old, and it looks clean. Despite its ruggedness, we'd get a pre-purchase inspection and negotiate on an asking price significantly above book. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
