Hummer H2 on 2040-cars
Placitas, New Mexico, United States
For sale is my 2008 Hummer H2, 525 AWHP (this is at the wheels not the crank) Crank estimated at over 700 BHP.Only 3,000 miles on built engine and 4,000 miles built Transmission I purchased it in stock form, from an auto dealer in Houston Texas with the plan of completely going through it (ok I got carried away) (this would become my primary vehicle). What I didn’t count on was how long it would take to complete the H2 and how quickly my other truck would sell. I became frustrated being with-out a vehicle, so I ended up going down to the dodge dealer and buying a new truck while the H2 continued to be worked on. Now with that being said you can imagine my wife looking at me shaking her head, 1 year and two months later the H2 is done. I am going to regret selling this. I will try to list everything, if you have questions please email me Engine: Built by Motiva Performance (Albuquerque, NM) 6.2 Liter bored and stroked to 415 CI running 9.8:1 compression Magnusson Supercharger Brian Tooley Racing stage 2 blower cam ARP Bolts Manley forged crank Manley LS Platinum pistons Manley H-Beam connecting Rods Platinum spring Titanium Retainer and Pushrods Cylinder Heads re-done New GM Water Pump New Nations High Output Alternator Odyssey battery Kook’s headers Kook’s custom y pipe High flow cats Borla exhaust Custom multi core large all aluminum radiator Twin electric fans 2-stage-electroincaly controlled Oil catch can, plumbed for easy empty 160 degree thermostat-stat, I would run 180 in winter K&N cold air intake See dyno sheet See dyno Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsNSdiZwBSQ Transmission: Built by Circle D Transmission (Houston, TX) 6L80E Circle D Vehicle bench package New gaskets, seals and rings New valve body seal kit New check balls New larger inlet filter New snap ring kit Increase clutch capacity in 2-6, 3-5-R & 4-5-6 drums Kolene steels in 2-6, 3-5-R, & 4-5-6 drums 300M billet intermediate shaft & with Reinforced billet output carrier 4140HSTR 4-5-6 clutch hub Reinforced 1-2-3-4, 2-6 & 3-5-R clutch hub Spiral-lock snap ring in 3-5-R drum Valve Body & Pump are performance Calibrated to CDT Specs Set transmission end play to CDT Specs Performance TCM tune New Torque Converter New upgraded Pump Auxiliary transmission cooler NOTE: The H2 transmission was built and tuned in house at Circle D Stock + options that came on H2 (some I added): Color - Black exterior and black interior Leather seats Heated driver and passenger seats Power driver and passenger seats Cold A/C Navigation Sunroof (tilt and full slide) 7 Passenger seating Bose sound systems (theater surround) with DVD and roof mounted screen Tilt steering, power windows and locks Remote start Ravelco custom system security system, engine immobilizer BF Goodrich MTR on 35x12.50x20 inch rims H2 is all wheel drive with electronically locking differential Automatic Transmission 6L80E Traction control Stability Track Roof rack Rear suspension is coil springs with air bags (I was planning on towing with this) Towing brake controller Front end has been completely gone thru New bilstein shocks General Notes: Oil is 10-40 Gas millage in Town, Mountain driving 7000’ – 9000’ above sea level 15-16 mpg and highway I don’t know, I live rurally and we don’t have freeways here. The motor has about 3000 miles on it The odometer has 84923 miles on it Clean Carfax Clean Title There has been an extensive amount of tuning done both on the engine and transmission, this is not my first BBQ and for what I was spending it needed to be perfect. I did not let them off the hook on anything, it wasn’t going home till it was perfect. I’m happy with it. I have never touched the brakes and the H2 stops great, better than you would expect. The steering is tight and the suspensions is incredible, go over a speed bump and never let off the gas, doesn’t even phase it. Like blip. It has a huge amount of articulation in it The Motiva sticker can be removed by buyer, Motive Performance actually paid me to put in on there as advertising for them I also have side steps for it as well and are included (not shown in pictures) I also have a full set (all 4 tires) of Pewag chains and are included (new in the box) they were 1,000 dollars alone. Example: The engine makes so much power we actually had to “de-tune” the torque values in the transmission, it would literally spin the tires between shifts, 35” tires and remember its all-wheel drive. The concept behind this build was to have it last a long time and to be as bullet proof as possible. The transmission shifts soft and smooth under normal driving, step on the gas pedal and it will snap your neck back between shifts. It is mild tempered under normal driving, there is no surging or no vehicle shaking idle (you can feel the cam in it), open the throttle and it’s a different story. My kids have nick named it the beast and it is. Oh how does it sound, like someone put a NASCAR engine in it, incredible I have spent a considerable amount of money on this and someone lucky is going to get, a well built and cared for Hummer H2

These were our favorite cars of 2022
Tue, Dec 20 2022Favorite cars is different than best cars. The idea of "best" can speak to value and overall competitiveness in a given vehicle segment. There's lots of objectivity involved and to do a "best" list right, one really must be very thorough and as scientific as possible. This is not that list. This is about our favorites, so objectivity be damned. If we liked a Challenger Hellcat because it made loud noises or a Honda Odyssey because it made for a particularly special family vacation, fair game. These were the cars that most spoke to our collection of editors and the ones that stayed in our minds and hung in our hearts long after they left our driveway. — Senior Editor James Riswick 2022 GMC Hummer EV Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder: I didn't particularly expect to like the new Hummer. I wasn't a fan of the Hummer H2 or H3, so I wasn't automatically enthusiastic about this electric reboot. Fast EVs aren't hard to come by — and, in fact, may be too easy to come by — so its performance specs weren't enough to win me over. Despite videos to the contrary, pickups aren't my favorite vehicular format. And its excessive size and weight turned me off ... until I finally got behind the wheel. This thing is wildly entertaining to drive. Watts to Freedom launch control is a neat party trick, sure, but the novelty wears off quickly. The novelty of Crab Walk, however, has staying power. The rear-wheel steering makes this behemoth feel much smaller than it is — the maneuverability is incredible, and useful. The air suspension provides tons of clearance, including a ridiculously high-riding Extract mode. I can't wait for lesser versions of the Hummer to make their way to market. Give me less power (for less money), but keep the off-road tricks onboard, and I'll be a happy camper. Senior Editor, Consumer, Jeremy Korzeniewski: If I could afford to put one of these in my driveway, I would. Sadly, I can't, so I won't (What's that, Janet? I got the lyric wrong?). Still, I love the dumb thing. Thankfully, I have another choice down below. 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 Associate Editor Byron Hurd: Yeah, duh, Porsches are good. But there's good, and then there's GT3. This is the feeling every performance-oriented RWD tuner is trying to replicate. This is hard, precise, surgical and immensely satisfying. To begin to explore this car on a public road is by itself an admission that you believe yourself to be above the rules as they apply to normal drivers.
IIHS: High numbers of drivers treat partially automated cars as fully self-driving
Tue, Oct 11 2022WASHINGTON — Drivers using advanced driver assistance systems like Tesla Autopilot or General Motors Super Cruise often treat their vehicles as fully self-driving despite warnings, a new study has found. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), an industry funded group that prods automakers to make safer vehicles, said on Tuesday a survey found regular users of Super Cruise, Nissan/Infiniti ProPILOT Assist and Tesla Autopilot "said they were more likely to perform non-driving-related activities like eating or texting while using their partial automation systems than while driving unassisted." The IIHS study of 600 active users found 53% of Super Cruise, 42% of Autopilot and 12% of ProPILOT Assist owners "said that they were comfortable treating their vehicles as fully self-driving." About 40% of users of Autopilot and Super Cruise — two systems with lockout features for failing to pay attention — reported systems had at some point switched off while they were driving and would not reactivate. "The big-picture message here is that the early adopters of these systems still have a poor understanding of the technologyÂ’s limits," said IIHS President David Harkey. The study comes as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is scrutinizing Autopilot crashes. Since 2016, the NHTSA has opened 37 special investigations involving 18 deaths in crashes involving Tesla vehicles and where systems like Autopilot were suspected of use. Tesla did not respond to requests for comment. Tesla says Autopilot does not make vehicles autonomous and is intended for use with a fully attentive driver who is prepared to take over. GM, which in August said owners could use Super Cruise on 400,000 miles (643,740 km) of North American roads and plans to offer Super Cruise on 22 models by the end of 2023, did not immediately comment. IIHS said advertisements for Super Cruise focus on hands-free capabilities while Autopilot evokes the name used in passenger airplanes and "implies TeslaÂ’s system is more capable than it really is." IIHS in contrast noted ProPILOT Assist "suggests that itÂ’s an assistance feature, rather than a replacement for the driver." NHTSA and automakers say none of the systems make vehicles autonomous. Nissan said its name "is clearly communicating ProPILOT Assist as a system to aid the driver, and it requires hands-on operation.
Body shop manager stole over $500,000 worth of government trucks and parts
Fri, Jan 27 2017The US Department of Justice announced yesterday that the manager of a collision and restoration business in Virginia admitted he helped misappropriate and sell vehicles and parts from the State Department. Specifically, he sold 12 Chevrolet Suburbans, a Hummer, and $7,500 worth of tires and wheels. He pled guilty to charges to commit theft of government property and wire fraud. He will likely see 18 to 20 months in prison, a fine of $4,000 to $40,000, and has already agreed to pay restitution of $416,020 and asset forfeiture of the same amount. According to the Department of Justice, the body shop manager, James Ratcliffe, worked with the owner of the business and a State Department official, both unnamed, to obtain the property. It started with the wheels and tires, which were delivered and sold on two occasions, one in 2011 and another in 2012. The trucks came later, and were sold throughout 2011 and 2013. Ratcliffe and the shop owner kept most of the profits, and shared some of the leftovers with the government official. In addition to the vehicles that were sold, the government official also gave Ratcliffe a pair of Suburbans for his own personal use. The Department of Justice estimated the total value of the SUVs at $96,400. In total, the group misappropriated $512,420 worth of property. Related Video:
