2001 Am General Hummer H1 Wagon - Low Miles on 2040-cars

Year:2001 Mileage:44500
Location:

2001 AM General H1 Hummer Wagon - THE REAL DEAL!!  It is finished in the rare Woodland Green paint with sandstorm (tan) cloth interior.  The paint is glossy and shows exceptionally well and the non-smoker interior is super clean.  The undercarriage is clean and virtually rust-free (see pics) and still shines!  Never offroad. This H1 has the legendary 6.5 liter turbo diesel engine that is known to run forever. It has an automatic transmission.

Accordingly to the previous owner it was the last Woodland Green 2001 available in the country at the time he bought it.  It was sold out of the Seattle area and then shipped to Florida where it resided until I bought it.  We are the second owner with zero accident history and in excellent condition.

It shows like new with just a few (3 I think) very small surface scratches and a couple paint chips.  No dings or dents.  It shows exceptionally and has less wear than couple be expected for its age.  Except for the winch, it has all options for the 2001 model year including 17" one piece wheels (had run flats but they were removed by previous owner for ease of servicing), central tire inflation system, driveline protection, power / heated outside mirrors, cruise control, privacy glass, rocker panel protection, heated windshield, trailer tow package, deluxe rearview mirror, brush guard (however the previous owner upgraded the brush guard with a factory heavy duty late model guard), and the Monsoon premium audio system with CD player.

It is a stock truck with only the following changes:  PMD was relocated, injectors were upgraded, as noted above an upgraded heavy duty brush guard (OEM) replaced the light duty OEM factory item, the brush guard was painted factory Woodland Green to match the truck, the wheels are the original 17" factory items but they have been custom painted with Woodland Green inlaid paint and custom hubcaps as shown in the picture. No modifications or cuts to any of the interior parts.  You don't have to worry about trying to figure out how someone cut up the interior or re-wired things - all OEM!

It has a Husky rear bedliner and a full set (4) of tan factory carpet mats and a front set of aftermarket all season mats (black).

No mechanical issues and everything works.  The CTIS works with a leak on the driver side rear but, based on the OEM manual, you should disconnect the CTIS when the truck sits for more than 3 days so I simply disconnect as I only drive it on weekends.

Overall this H1 is in incredible shape and it runs great and looks fantastic.  You will not be disappointed.  I would drive it anywhere without concern.

Clear Ohio title in-hand.  You will be required to pay any sales tax, transfer taxes , registration fees or other any other fees to register the vehicle.

We request, via Paypal, a non-refundable deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours of the close of the auction.  The balance is due in certified funds and we will not transfer title until the funds clear.  Regardless of what eBay auction page states, Paypal is for deposit only.  Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.

This is a used vehicle and does not come with any warranty, express or implied and is being sold as is, where is.

GM Design shows another early Hummer EV sketch

Sun, Aug 8 2021

Like a new mother who's still so excited about her one-year-old baby that she can't stop showing ultrasound photos, General Motors is so excited about its biggest new baby, the battery-electric GMC Hummer, that it can't stop showing off development design sketches. The off-road monster with the 200-kWh Ultium battery pack debuted online on October 21 last year. The next day, the GM Design Instagram page posted some of the Hummer's early "theme sketches" leading to the production version. These had a conceptual flair to them, but were rather restrained. A month later, GM uncovered a series of development renderings showing off a much wilder truck bursting with more angles than a geometry text book. The archives have opened up again with a new "ideation sketch," this one between the first believable sketches and the second truck that Master Chief and Doomguy share on their days off.  All three sets of drawings show similar three-box proportions, it's the details that got a ton of love. On this newest sketch, the fenders flare a touch more than on the production truck, but the wheel wells are cut with the kind of clearance found on a Baja 1000 Trophy Truck. Out back, save for the tow hooks, the rear end is totally different than production. The sketch puts illuminated Hummer script across a narrow tailgate flanked by small square, taillights housing six individual elements. Beneath that, a bumper-less rear end puts nothing more than a sloped bash pate between the truck and the rocks it's just scrambled over. To our eyes, this is the best blend of production-ready comfort from the first sketches and zoot suit angles from the second that we've seen so far.  First deliveries of the GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 are expected before the year is out. When we get a chance to absorb the truck in its native habitats, we'll know whether there's cause for disappointment at what could have been. If so, with all this hunger among the monied for something different, we feel like restomodders have been given the perfect head starts on custom rebodied Hummers that would make things right. AM General's new CEO has strong military roots

Fri, Dec 11 2015

AM General has a new president and chief executive officer. Current CEO Charlie Hall is retiring from the company. In his place, the defense and automotive manufacturer has named industry veteran Andy Hove. Though primarily a defense contractor, AM General has produced a number of civilian vehicles as well. The company is perhaps best known for the Hummer (or Humvee in military parlance) and continued producing both the original H1 and the subsequent H2 after selling the brand to General Motors. Even after GM shut down the brand, AM General continued producing Humvees for military use and as a civilian kit. The company is also behind Mobility Ventures, which produces purpose-built wheelchair-accessible vehicles, assembles the R-Class for Mercedes-Benz, and has been linked to potential commercial van and pickup truck assembly for GM as well. Based in South Bend, IN, AM General shares its roots with the Jeep brand. It was split off from American Motors Corporation after the latter was bought by Renault and then by Chrysler. Today it's owned by New York-based investment firms Renco Group and MacAndrews & Forbes. A former Army officer, Hove arrives at the company with considerable experience in the defense industry, particularly in vehicle manufacturing. He has previously served as president of HDT Global and before that of Oshkosh Defense. Prior to that he headed up the Bradley tank program for BAE Systems, where he increased sales from $250 million to $2 billion within five years. His departing predecessor Charlie Hall was named CEO in 2011, assuming day-to-day responsibility for the company's operations from the suitably named chairman James Armour. Hove brings to AM General a track record of excellence at a diverse array of defense and commercial companies in the United States and around the world. Hove most recently served as the President and CEO of HDT Global where he rapidly proved the quality of his leadership in helping transform the company.

2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Cupholder Mega Test: Will the Nalgene bottle fit?

Tue, May 2 2023

I absolutely adore the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and so was excited to spend a week with it when the EV landed in my driveway. When I first drove the Ioniq 5 in San Diego, though, I hadn't packed my favorite style water bottle: the big 32-ounce Nalgene. Despite it being the best, its sheer size makes it less ideal when trying to pack light for a short trip. It also means it doesn't fit in most cars' cupholders, but, without the bottle on hand, I'd have to wait until this new opportunity with the Ioniq 5 to find out if it passes the Nalgene check. So, let's get to it. Starting at pole position — the front cupholders — we find ourselves unlucky so far. It's not even close to fitting. Not unusual, but our first option for convenient access to megahydration is denied. In most instances, our next best bet is the molded pockets in the front door panels. Here we have success. It's quite a tight fit, so while our drink won't be knocking or rolling around, it's not as easy as it could be to retrieve while driving, and I'll probably eventually wear out the little plastic tether connecting the lid to the bottle, as that's the easiest thing to grab without looking. Still, I'll give these door holders a pass. How about the folks sitting in back? Where can they stash their Nalgenes? No surprise about it not fitting in the center armrest cupholders after our inauspicious start with the fronts. The fact that it won't fit in the door panels is disappointing. C'est la vie. But one more thing ... you might have noticed another potential stash up front in the storage cubby below the center stack. The Nalgene fits in there just fine, but a little bit of extra room means the bottle will be knocking around. It's actually a decent spot, and more accessible than the doors.
