BACK UP CAMERA

These Hummer trucks are hard to find.  This one comes with a Safari rack on top.  This was professionally built and can be easily removed by using a fork lift.  You just pull the pin for the reese hitch and there are spots for the forks in the bed to safely remove the Safari rack.  All the weight of the Safari rack is on the bed and reese hitch.  There is nothing on the hard top of the truck nor does it touch the hard top of the truck.  There are steps that unfold for easy access to the top.  Once on top you can see there are 2 bucket seats and 1 bench seat for 2 people.  There are 4 cup holders on top and a center console to hold your favorite beverages.  This is a great place to do all your hunting from or it would make a great Safari Truck.  You can also just take the Safari rack off and have an awesome H1 Hummer Truck.

Please look at all the pictures to see how nice this Hummer is.

The interior is in excellent shape.  There is a bench seat that goes in the middle of the two rear buckets.  I have this bench and it goes with the truck.  I forgot to take a picture of it.  It matches the rest of the interior and is in excellent shape.  All the power options work as they should.  The AC compressor turns on and works but in will need to be recharged.  All the gauges work.

The exterior is in great shape for the year.  The black shines nicely.  There a few scratches marks as to be expected and two rock chips in the windshield.  The body is straight and all the doors open and shut as they should and seal up tight.  The tires are in great shape and have a lot of life still in them.

The truck starts right up every time and does not smoke.  The motor is strong and runs great down the road.  The truck drives in a straight line and also stops in a straight line with no shaking, shimmy or pulling.  The brakes are in great working order.  The transmission shifts smooth through all the gears as is should.

I am looking for a cash deal and will accept reasonable offers.

If you have any questions please give me call 309-333-6796(Tom).

If you would like the ride the Amtrak train to Macomb, IL I can pick you up at the train station.  Please give me a call before you buy your train tickets.  309-333-6796(Tom).

This Hummer is being sold through a dealer.  All Illinois residents tax, title and plate fees apply.  Out of state residents there are NO other fees just the purchase price of the Hummer.

GMC and EarthCruiser to collaborate on Hummer EV Pickup overlander project

Thu, Mar 30 2023

GMC just announced a collaboration with overlanding vehicle builder EarthCruiser, and the end result is going to provide us with a co-developed Hummer EV Pickup. The photo you’re looking at above is the first teaser for whatÂ’s to come of the partnership. The Hummer team will be working with EarthCruiserÂ’s research and design division to develop an overland upfit solution for EVs that it says will initially be integrated into the Hummer EV Pickup. In case you werenÂ’t familiar with EarthCruiser, theyÂ’re the people that have made utterly wild overlanding vehicles like the Terranova, FX and EXP. Needless to say, EarthCruiser makes some pretty rad stuff, and none of it is cheap. GMC says this collaboration will look to use EarthCruiserÂ’s expertise gained from developing its vehicles to create an overlanding solution for the Hummer. We should expect to see EarthCruiserÂ’s engineering technologies integrated into the vehicle, which will allow the Hummer to go even further off-road and provide the ability for owners to live with their trucks in the wilderness.  The one snag with overlanding in EVs is the typically long journeys away from civilization. As an example, the EarthCruiser XP and EXP feature 60-gallon fuel tanks to ensure you can get to where you need to go and power the living situation for a long time once youÂ’re there. WeÂ’ll be interested to hear what GMC and EarthCruiser have to say about the challenges presented by overlanding in an EV. Already visible in the teaser image is what looks like a solar panel-filled roof and rear side pods for supplies. The concept truck will be presented in late summer 2023, and while no date for a production vehicle was provided, itÂ’s likely that the final truck will come soon after. Related video:

Sell your own: 2006 Hummer H3

This is part of an occasional look at cars for sale in Autoblog's classifieds. Want to sell your car? We make it easy and free. Quickly create listings with up to six photos and reach millions of buyers. Log in and create your free listings. At the time of the Hummer launch in 1992, America's mood was pretty good, we'd pushed Iraq out of Kuwait, and the economy headed for an uptick. It may not have been the best of times, but it was the perfect time to introduce a thirsty, in-your-face SUV. Regrettably, in the following decade we suffered 9/11, were waging two wars, and then the economic downturn struck. And despite the relative sanity offered by the smaller H3, GM entered into Chapter 11 in 2009 and killed off Hummer. With relatively few sold in the five model years it was offered, finding a clean H3 is a challenge. We like the H3's smaller footprint - relative to the huge H1 and Tahoe-based H2 - and the quirkiness of an inline 5-cylinder matched to a 5-speed manual. With this for-sale example, offered in Arkansas, you'll find mileage perfectly reasonable for a vehicle now 12 years old, and it looks clean. Despite its ruggedness, we'd get a pre-purchase inspection and negotiate on an asking price significantly above book. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Humvee reborn on the battlefield... with a chimney?!

Fri, 09 Dec 2011

The military's High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), better known to most of us as the Humvee, has already served a long and distinguished career in the battlefield, and there have been a number of replacements waiting in the wings to take over where the HMMWV left off. Or, should we say, leaves off... assuming that ever happens.
It seems that the Humvee is set to get a new lease on life as military budget constraints are forcing the government to reconsider its replacement. But there are still some pesky safety issues to work out before American soldiers will feel comfortable inside the confines of the off-road box on wheels.
As you're likely aware, improvised explosive devices are an ever-increasing threat to the lives of American troops serving overseas. The Humvee, which traces its design all the way back to the year 1984 when it first saw duty as a replacement for the long-running series of military Jeeps, has seen a number of incarnations over the years that added armor and improved safety, but the latest version may feature something hitherto unseen: a chimney.
