2003 Honda S2000 7,389 Miles Black With Vortech Supercharger on 2040-cars
Cincinnati, Ohio, United States
This 2003
two owner S2000 is in fantastic condition and is complimented by great
performance. The $6,290(plus installation) Vortech Supercharger increases the horsepower “by
49%” to give you “358” as stated by Vortech on its webpage. The body is a 9.5/10 and the interior is a
9.9/10 as you might expect from mostly a one owner car with only 7,389 miles as
shown on the odometer and documented in the clean Carfax. I bought it last September and have put about
500 miles on it. As you can see the underside is as unbelievably clean as the
topside. When have you last seen a car’s underside this clean? Obviously it has
not been driven in bad weather. The
aftermarket exhaust is by MW and there is a MW badge on the trunk. I had a pre-purchase inspection performed by
a Honda dealer before I bought it passed
with flying colors. Compression in each
of three cylinders was 220# and in the
fourth was 230#. The wheels are all
scratch and curb rash free and are as new and the one pictured is representative
of the other ones. Tires are original and the fronts have 7/10” and the rear 4/10”. Due to their age 4 brand new tires, rated
better than the competitor tires in a Tire Rack comparative test, are included
with the sale as well as a nice car cover.
There is an aftermarket amp in the trunk. The top with the heated rear glass window is
very nice. There are no tears in the
seats or scrapes and the original mats are nice. The 9000 rpm redline takes some getting used
to as your natural inclination is to want to shift at about 6500 as most cars
require. The sound is fantastic. The
V-tech cam lets you know around 7200 RPM that it has arrived. The next year
S2000 lowered the rev limit, a shame.
Handling is superb. I have had 6
different Porsches on the race track at Mid Ohio including a Boxster S and I can
say without qualification that this car handles very well. I have not tracked this car. If you can find the Mid Ohio Track Video
showing an instructor in one you will see how well they handle. So good was this year and S200 that Car and
Driver picked it in a comparison test over a Borsche Boxster, Z4 BMW, a 270Z
and an Audi TT. It shows no paint work
and the clean Carfax shows no accident history. The AC blows cold..The stock
items removed for the Vortech installation are included with the car. I had the local Honda Dealer change the oil,
brake fluid and anti-freeze right after I got it last fall. I have the record of this fluid change as
well as the pre-purchase inspection invoice.
Check out the completed listings and you will see that one with a few
thousand less miles just sold for $23,000 and because it was for the latter
series it is not as desirable in my opinion. And more importantly, it is missing the Vortech
fun factor costing over $7500, counting installation. I have purchased several Porsches and Audi’s from Ebay or Autotrader without seeing them and
this is the best car purchased on line in terms of condition. I will not entertain bids or offers from
people with no ebay rating. |

Honda, GM fuel-cell partnership wants to reduce hydrogen refueling costs
Thu, Feb 27 2014To paraphrase the old political adage, it's the cost, stupid. Dollar signs are what's prompting Honda and General Motors to partner up to accelerate development of a hydrogen fuel cell system. With about half the cost of a fuel-cell system tied up in its fuel-cell stack, GM and Honda are looking to help each other drive costs down, according to a presentation by GM fuel cell research and development director Mark Mathias said in a presentation at the SAE 2014 Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Technologies Symposium. According to Green Car Congress, Honda and GM are looking to reap the fruits of their collective labor by 2020. As with other automakers, the high cost of producing fuel-cell vehicles is the fly in the ointment of a powertrain technology that combines the same range as gas-powered vehicles but with zero emissions. In the meantime, Honda, which makes the very limited production FCX Clarity fuel-cell vehicle, is slated to start selling its own mass-market fuel-cell vehicle in 2015. The two automakers made their partnership announcement last summer and said they contribute to expanding hydrogen fuel infrastructure in California during the next few years. Earlier, Ford, Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler and Nissan also said they would work together to speed up fuel-cell technology development.
Autotrader picks best cars for 2015's college grads
Sun, May 31 2015Summer is here and the school season is winding to a close. That means millions of students will be graduating college and (hopefully) entering the workforce. For many, that will mean buying a new car suited to the new stage in life into which they will now be embarking. That can be a bewildering choice, especially for someone who's never bought a car before. Fortunately, Autotrader has come up with a short list of recommended cars – new and used – which it recommends to the graduating class of 2015. Among the site's top choices are some compelling crossovers and hatchbacks, including the Buick Encore, Chevy Trax, and Jeep Renegade, as well as the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa Note, Mazda3 and Fiat 500. Can't stretch to buying new, or don't see the point? Autotrader has also identified the Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and even the Lexus IS as smart buys in the certified pre-owned category. "Any time someone goes through a major life change, such as graduating college, they need to determine if their current ride makes sense for their lifestyle, from both a financial and functional perspective," says Autotrader editor Brian Moody. "For example, while that hand-me-down SUV from your parents was nice when you turned 16, you may want to opt for a safer, more fuel-efficient car as you transition into the working world." Autotrader Names 10 Best Cars for Recent College Graduates ATLANTA, May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For many, graduating college is a milestone like no other – it represents a new chapter, a proud accomplishment and, fortunately or unfortunately, financial independence. Luckily for graduates who are in the market for a new car to suit their post-college lifestyle, Autotrader's expert editors say now is a great time to make a purchase, as dealerships are flush with affordable models that are fun, fuel-efficient and thoughtfully designed. Honda begins Micro Commuter testing
Fri, 19 Jul 2013Autocar is reporting that Honda is about to start testing prototypes of its Micro Commuter, a petite EV that'll do adorable battle with the Renault Twizy if it reaches production.
Honda first showed the Micro Commuter, a so called super-urban vehicle, in November. Like the Renault, it features a 1+1 setup, meaning there's a central seat up front and a small backseat behind it. Honda has designed the tandem runabout for versatility, featuring a body that can be adapted for everything from child hauling to elderly passengers.
A rear-mounted electric motor draws power from a 15-kilowatt, lithium-ion battery, granting it a top speed of 50 miles per hour. With 37 miles of range, the Micro Commuter could be a neat urban solution. That said, these were figures that were announced in November, so we wouldn't be surprised to see them change as Honda gathers data from its new prototype testing program.
