For sale is my baby, my first child.

This adult-owned and driven, never smoked in 2002 Honda S2000 was purchased by me used with 17K miles in 2006. In the seven years since purchasing it, it has morphed into an incredibly fast, extremely reliable and daily-drivable street beast. Beyond all the great features already standard on the Honda S2000 making it one of the best performing cars for the money, this vehicle was professionally built to go fast, while still maintaining it's civil nature.

The S2000 was introduced in 1999 for the 2000 model year and was given the chassis designation of AP1. It featured a front mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout with power being delivered by a 1,997 cc (122 cu in) inline 4-cylinder DOHC-VTEC engine. The engine (codenamed F20C) produced outputs of 177–184 kW (237–247 hp), and 208–218 N·m (153–161 lbf·ft) depending on the target market.[5] The engine was mated to a six-speed manual transmission and Torsen limited slip differential. The S2000 achieved what Honda claimed as "the world's top level, high performance 4-cylinder normally aspirated engine"

Features include independent double wishbone suspensionelectrically assisted steering and integrated roll hoops. The car featured 16 in (41 cm) wheels with Bridgestone Potenza S-02 tires. The compact and lightweight engine, mounted entirely behind the front axle, allowed the S2000 to achieve a 50:50 front/rear weight distribution and lower rotational inertia. An electrically poweredvinyl top with internal cloth lining was standard, with an aluminum hardtop available as an optional extra.

The 2001 model was largely unchanged, but Honda upgraded the radio and added a digital clock to the dashboard display. For the 2002 model year, suspension settings were revised and the plastic rear window was replaced by a glass unit incorporating an electric defroster. Other updates included slightly revised tail lamps, an upgraded radio, a leather gearshift knob and a revised engine control unit.

The AP1 was manufactured up to 2003 at Honda's Takanezawa plant, alongside the Honda NSX and Honda Insight hybrid.

The S2000 has received much praise from critics and motoring journalists and has received favourable reviews from such publications as Car and Driver. Highlighted are the high output of the engine, the high redline, the balanced handling, and the smooth gearbox. User surveys have named the S2000 as a favorite for overall customer satisfaction.[23]

The S2000 for sale on this eBay ad has the following performance modifications, all built and installed by ASE-certified Platinum level Honda Technicians.
Engine:
Torn down at 44K miles and completely rebuilt by Jeremy Allen of InLinePro(http://www.inlinepro.com/s1/) and (http://www.allenbuilt.blogspot.com/)
F24C stroker kit installed (http://www.inlinepro.com/s1/p-257-s2000-f24-stroker-kit.aspx) with 10:1 compression CP pistons
stock head/stock cams/stock intake manifold
Every seal/gasket in the engine was replaced during rebuild
Car does not leak a drop of oil, which is not normally the case with turbocharged Hondas
Car dyno'd 510whp and 397TQ at the wheels at 15psi(very conservative boost level for this build--has never seen more than 15psi) on 93 octane ( http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c355/viggenman/F24CDynoGraph.jpg <---may have to copy link into URL) and 440whp and 280TQ on 10psi
Car was professionally tuned by the best Honda tuner in the US(and likely the world) Jeff Evans (http://www.evans-tuning.com/) and has been running his tunes since 2008 with no issues....idles better than stock and gets better gas mileage than stock when not in boost--if you have enough self-control to keep it out of boost.

Started out as an off the shelf stage1 kit(kept and use the cast manifold for durability purposes--stronger and lasts much longer than regular tubular manifolds--makes dyno numbers even more impressive considering those numbers normally come from stage2 kits running more boost than this car is)
InlinePRO T3/T4 Cast Iron  turbo manifold
Borg warner or Garrett Turbo ( size will vary )
AEM EMS version 2
InlinePRO 675cc or 900cc injectors
InlinePRO injector clips
InlinePRO 2.5" charge pipes
InlinePRO Blowoff Valve
InlinePRO 3" downpipe
InlinePRO Couplers and clamps
InlinePRO 600 hp intercooler
Tial MVS Wastegate
Walboro 255 fuel pump
InlinePRO Oil Feed kit
InlinePRO Oil Return kit

However, I opted for the more expensive options including:
-Precision Turbo .63mm Dual ball-bearing oil-cooled turbo
-Hondata ECU
-Injector Dynamics 1000CC fuel injectors
-Competition Clutches Stage 5 full-face clutch(makes daily driving a breeze and will hold all the power this car is capable of making)

Some other things that make this car unique and even more driver/user-friendly include
-AEM TruBoost Gauge-type Controller----this boost gauge is also able to hold two boost level tunes, currently running a 10psi boost tune and a 15psi boost tune; switchable on the fly
-Hondata ECU--This car will pass emissions and inspections in any state with no issues whatsoever. Installed race catalyst in exhaust so that it will also pass visual inspections. I have had this car inspected at VERY respectable(Rahal Honda, etc.) Honda dealers with this set up as-is and have never been turned away or denied. Never have to worry about failing emissions with this vehicle.
-Custom made Air/oil separator installed and hidden behind front bumper to evacuate oil vapors in valve cover(no dipstick blowing out or seals in engine being destroyed by pressurized crankcase gases)
-Custom made heatshields for battery/fusebox[which was relocated parallel to fender], intercooler pipes and air filter, all wrapped in 100% real/authentic Gold-Leaf heatwrap. Gold is the most reflective and least heat absorbing metal on the planet and this really helps keep underhood temperatures and air intake temperatures down to reasonable levels. You can find out more about it here: http://www.hrpworld.com/index.cfm?tpc=Reflective-Film-Gold&form_prod_id=3153&action=product  <---also applied to rear bumper to help reduce warping/discolouration from exhaust gases
-Braille 9-lb carbon-fiber racing battery
-Koyo Radiator with OEM fans/fan shrouds
-New alternator
-New starter
-Lightweight 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 SSR GT-7 wheels----not replicas, real-deal SSRs
-Hood is shimmed in the back(near the wind shield) to help dissipate heat from the engine bay
-Seibon black Carbon Fiber Mugen-Style vented hood is available at the buy it now price. Looks like this: http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/wm.php/images/seibons2000mghood5.jpg
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^^^please note that this is not my car, but an image to reflect the CF hood available

Beyond that, the entire rest of the vehicle is 100% stock and serviceable by any Honda dealer or technician in the world. Part of the reason why I built this car this way was because the car came from Honda almost as good as it could get. It simply needed more power and a reliable way of delivering that power.

You will not be disappointed by this car in the slightest. It starts and runs perfectly every time you get in it(just drove it 5 hours through traffic to the beach this past weekend in the extreme heat and with the A/C on full blast it never missed a beat). There are no underlying issues. THIS IS NOT A PROJECT CAR! This is a fully-built, ready to drive everyday vehicle that will not be coming with any surprises or issues. The reason I'm selling is because I'm moving to Colorado and will not be able to drive it 6+ months out of the year and I would rather someone who can give it the attention it deserves a chance to have fun with her. I will miss her. I may call you once a month to ask how she is or to see a pic of her. I may ask that you send me videos of her so I can hear her roar for old-times sake. She will make you happier than you could ever imagine.

If you're looking for a completely stock S2000, I ask you this, why would you spend the same money on a 100% stock and slow S2000 as you can on this and have better drivability, more performance and a better platform to start with. This would be the perfect start to a time attack or drift machine. I chose not to go those routes because I was too busy driving it and enjoying it everyday as-is.

***edit*** I have noticed looking through the vehicle history report that there are 2 incidents reported very early on in the ownership of the vehicle while it was parked.  This is news to me, as Carfax was not around back in 2006 when we bought it. However, I can assure you that this car is as straight as an arrow and I will be putting the vehicle up in the air to get some pictures of it from underneath and more pictures of the exterior/interior/etc. This will take a day or so, but I will update this before the end of the auction.

I would be happy to take more pictures or even shoot some video of her in action if you desire to see it running. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.

more pics and vids to come----

Honda Vezel is the Fit crossover we've been waiting for

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

"Vezel" may sound like the latest miracle cure from Big Pharma, but in truth it's the long-awaited Fit-based crossover from Honda. Unfortunate name aside, this four-door CUV looks ready for production, because it is.
Shown here in hybrid guise, the subcompact Vezel looks quite sporty, with boldly upswept sheetmetal contours, an aggressively raked backlight, "hidden" rear doorhandles borrowed from the JDM Civic hatchback, and an expressive face with LED headlamps.
Honda is presently confirming that the Vezel will go on sale in both hybrid and gas-only guise in Japan, but it isn't offering anything in the way of specifications other than to say that both models will make use of a 1.5-liter direct-injected engine, the "Sport Hybrid i-DCD" powertrain of course getting a "high-output motor" of unspecified power and what could be a dual-clutch transmission. Honda has declined to make clear whether this is the new 1.5-liter turbocharged VTEC engine we told you about yesterday, but it's a good bet that it is indeed the same new Earth Dreams powerplant. Critically, there's no mention of whether all-wheel drive will be offered.

Honda Fit EV lease drops to $199 a month, but there's a catch

Mon, Mar 23 2015

The Honda Fit EV just became a much better deal. When it first launched, Honda offered the car (in California and Oregon only) in 2012, the monthly price was $399. In 2013, the official lease price dropped to $259. Today, Honda announced that the fun little runabout will cost you just $199. The catch? For new customers, this price is only good on used Fit EVs. You can also take advantage of this deal If you're a current Fit EV lessee by extending your time with your car by two years for the new, lower $199-a-month price. The other limitations of the Fit EV lease – the fact that there's no purchase option at the end of the lease and that the car itself is still only available in "designated market regions" – remain, which means that getting this particular electric car is a better deal than it used to be, but it's still not a good Fit for everyone. Related Video: Honda Introduces New Lease Options for Existing and Prospective Fit EV Lessees Mar 23, 2015 - TORRANCE, Calif. Two-year Fit EV lease extension offered to existing lessees New, two-year used Fit EV lease offered to prospective customers Price reduced to $199 a month; no down payment and unlimited mileage, routine maintenance and collision coverage included Honda is extending the reach of its efficient and fun-to-drive all-electric Fit EV (http://automobiles.honda.com/fit-ev/) through new lease programs for both existing and prospective Fit EV customers. For current, eligible Fit EV customers, Honda is offering a two-year lease extension that includes a lower $199 monthly payment1 (previously $259) and extends the unlimited mileage, routine maintenance and collision coverage1 that were included in the original lease. The reduced lease price and matching two-year terms1 will also be available to new customers interested in driving a used Honda Fit EV. Honda shared the news to a group of Fit EV drivers at an event hosted at the Honda Smart Home US (http://www.hondasmarthome.com/) in Davis, CA on Saturday, March 21. "Most Fit EV drivers tell us they love their vehicles, and many have requested lease extensions and this extended lease program is intended to meet their needs," said Steve Center, vice president of the Environmental Business Development Office, American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

10 automakers shack up in Detroit hotel to talk Takata airbags

Sun, Dec 14 2014

Since Takata has decided not to take the lead concerning potential issues with its airbag inflators, the automakers have. Perhaps that's unsurprising, since it's the automakers, not Takata, that will take a beating on the dealership floor if consumers decide its models are a health hazards. The Detroit News reports that Toyota, Honda, General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Subaru met in a hotel conference room near the Detroit Metropolitan Airport last week to sort out a way to understand the technical issues involved. So far, faulty airbag inflators have been ruled the cause of five deaths and 50 injuries around the world, but neither Takata nor investigators understands exactly why the inflators are malfunctioning. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently asked Takata to issue a national recall, Takata declined, citing a minuscule failure rate and the fact that it's still investigating the issue. Toyota and Honda then made an industry-wide appeal for "a coordinated, comprehensive testing program" that would pinpoint the problem inflators and get them replaced, and that's what the Detroit meeting was about. Numerous issues, however, will make this a long row to hoe: simply getting the parts to replace the nearly 20 million inflators in cars recalled around the world so far - even working with other suppliers - will take a years, but more importantly, no one knows if the replacement inflators currently being installed will suffer the same issue. Answers will hopefully come quickly with Takata, the ten automakers and NHTSA all independently investigating the problem.
