2001 Honda S2000 Under 40k Miles Garaged Super Clean Red/black on 2040-cars

Year:2001 Mileage:39500
Location:

Tucson, Arizona, United States

Tucson, Arizona, United States

2001 Honda S2000 Red with only 39,500 miles garaged and super clean. I am the second owner. I have owned this Honda since 2004 and 10,000 miles. The first owner took excellent care of this car . He spent more time cleaning it than driving it.  It still looks amazing and considering it's age you would have trouble finding one in nicer condition. The most significant flaw is a factory defect concerning the driver side electric window. The window opens and closes fine but only while you are touching the switch. The automatic press and release feature does not work.   Normally, after fully pressing this switch and then releasing it this feature would allow the window to continue opening hands-free.  But this driver door electric window only works while you are pressing this switch just as you would with the passenger side electric window. The first owner took it to the dealer and was told it was fixed but it only lasted for a few days and he never took it back. To me it was not important and I have not given it much thought. I am just passing it on since it is technically broken. The interior looks almost new but not flawless or "mint."  There some very faint scratches from sliding the key into the ignition or from adjusting the cd player or ac unit but you would have to look hard for them to show and they are not visible in any photo. Most would just say the car looked new but I did drive it and occassionally had a passenger. It is 100% smoke free!

The body is also very clean with a few minor road chips to the hood and a small ding that is pictured but too small to be visible in the picture. This ding is near the gas fill door and has been there when I bought this car. There is no putty or fill to the body but I did have the bumpers professionally touched up . Not much else to say. No modifications to the engine. It has always ran fine. It was never raced or abused. It was never loaned to a friend. I never let a teenager drive it, etc...

I was not planning to sell this when I bought new tires and got Dunlop instead of Michelin. I had been putting Michelins on but the Dunlops will get more miles and they were more expensive. There are approximately 200 miles on the new tires.

I am selling because I am moving and I will not have room to properly store the Honda.

Honda recalling 748k Odyssey and Pilot models over airbag concern

Fri, 18 Jan 2013

American Honda today announced a recall of approximately 748,000 Odyssey and Pilot models due to faulty airbag concerns. The vehicles in question are Odyssey minivans from the 2011 to 2013 model years and Pilot crossovers from the 2009 to 2013 model years.
According to a statement from Honda, driver's side airbags in the affected vehicles were potentially assembled without some of the rivets that secure the bag's plastic cover. Because of this, the airbag may not deploy properly in the event of a crash, leading to further occupant injury. As of this writing, no injuries have been reported in conjunction with this issue.
Honda will begin officially notifying owners via mail in mid-February. The automaker urges customers to take their vehicles to an authorized dealership, where vehicles will be inspected and, if necessary, repaired. In lieu of waiting for the snail mail approach, owners may also visit www.recalls.honda.com or can contact the automaker directly at 1.800.999.1009 and select option four.

Honda's U.S. Plants Build Ten Million Accords, 20 Million Total Vehicles

Fri, Mar 21 2014

The ten millionth American-built Honda Accord rolled off the assembly line Friday at the Japanese automaker's plant in Marysville, Ohio, according to Autoblog. Honda is celebrating not only the Accord, which is the seventh best selling nameplate of all time, but also an accumulative 20 million Hondas built in the U.S. since the company first started manufacturing at Marysville in November 1982. Honda was the first Japanese automaker to gamble on American manufacturing. Now, 94 percent of all Hondas sold in the U.S are American-built. They are made in facilities in Ohio, Alabama and Indiana. Honda's U.S. plants manufactured 1.3 million vehicles last year - a company record. Honda currently builds the best-selling Civic and Accord, as well as the Crosstour, CR-V, Pilot, Odyssey and Ridgeline in the U.S. Acura, Honda's luxury brand, also builds cars at the American plants, including the ILX, TL, RDX and MDX. Honda Civic Tourer images arrive early on web

Sun, 03 Mar 2013

Honda provided a teaser sketch of its Civic Tourer concept wagon about a month ago (right), but today, just a couple days before its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show, we've found these official pics of the car in question from WhatCar?
The Civic Tourer concept adds a little length and height to the current Civic hatchback sold in Europe, stretching the shape every which way to make a new wagon model that will compete with cars like the new Volkswagen Golf Variant, which is also making its debut in Geneva this week.
As we mentioned when Honda released the teaser sketch last month, the European Civic is different from the Civic sold here in the US, so the production version of this concept, which should debut in the fall, will never see the inside of a dealership in the States. Do you care, or does the smaller Fit fill that role well enough for Americans?
