2001 Honda S2000 Second Owner--low Mileage--great Shape on 2040-cars
Staatsburg, New York, United States
A little history on this Honda. I am the second owner. The first owner made a mistake. Hey it happens, we all make them. He purchased the car new as a surprise for his wife. Heck I could have told him that was a mistake. This is not a car women drive, that's just the way life is. Maybe a Mustang or an Audi, but not this. Fact is most women like dual sliding doors, not dual exhausts.
So, she stuck it in their garage. He drove it from time to time and six years later with 2941 miles on it, he traded it in for something she did want, a Volvo. That's when I purchased it, in 2006. If you are looking at the car I need not tell you of all it's attributes. You know about them. You know they are becoming collectible and you know that properly maintained, they should last a long time. A real long time. After all, it is a Honda. This car starts and runs like new. Mileage of 54,175 is original, guaranteed. Overall in and out for being 13 years old it is in great condition. My "marriage" is the reason for the sale. No, I am not getting married. I am married and happily so. I also know when to "hold em and when to......." So when my wife suggests something I might not necessarily agree with but it doesn't hurt bad, I say".. what a great idea, why didn't I think of that?" As I approach my 72d birthday my wife suggested I grow up and get rid of some toys. Why not, why didn't I think of that! ? This car stays in the garage, covered, and when I drive it to work from time to time, it is parked underground. Comes with owners manual, original top, clean car fax, boot cover, etc. I also have the security code which is important in case battery goes dead; you need it to restart radio or pay dealer a lot of money to do so. Although the car red lines at 9,000 RPM, I can never recall going over 6500 and even that was extremely rare. I just never had the urge to die. I have placed a low reserve on it but will not give it away. I mean age does have its priviliges. Besides if it doesn't sell, I can tell my wife I tried. You can buy this car and drive it home. And, it is the color everyone wants--Black. Any ques. give me a holler --845-337-1774. Good luck bidding. If this is the kind of car you are looking for, it will be hard to locate a better one. I want $500. deposit in 48 hours, balance in 7 days. Thanks |

Honda revamps F1 engine for McLaren
Thu, Aug 6 2015Things haven't been going smoothly for Honda since returning to Formula One, and the Japanese automaker says the challenge has been greater than it anticipated. But after a stronger showing at the recent Hungarian Grand Prix, Honda says its reliability issues are behind it and is working on introducing a revamped engine for the second half of the season. "I am confident our reliability problems are now behind us, which means we can turn our attention to increasing power," Honda racing chief Yasuhisa Arai told Autosport. "After the summer shutdown our plan is to apply a new-spec engine using some of our remaining seven tokens." The "tokens" to which Arai refers are a way for the FIA to limit engine development. The power units are broken down into 66 such tokens in the regulations, and each engine supplier can change up to 32 of them throughout the season. The allowance was at first afforded only to returning suppliers Mercedes, Ferrari, and Renault, but Honda succeeded in convincing the FIA to allow it the same leeway. Honda has been spending its development tokens on fixing reliability issues, but will shift its focus to improving performance. The McLaren team that Honda powers has only gotten both of its cars to the finish line at two out of 10 races this season. Most of those problems came down to the new engine package. That's compared to only two retirements the team suffered last season, when it was still under Mercedes power, and none the year before. In Hungary, however, the team not only got both cars to the finish line, but placed both in the points for the first time this season. "The sport has changed immensely since the McLaren-Honda 'glory days'," said Arai. "The current technology is much more sophisticated, and it is tough to make a good racing car. We knew it wouldn't be easy, but perhaps we didn't imagine it would be this hard." The Japanese manufacturer is now spending the summer break developing its power unit. Many of those changes are expected to be rolled out in time for the Belgian Grand Prix later this month, with the rest to follow in the ensuing races. Beyond reliability, engine performance is particularly important for the high-speed races at Spa and Monza, where the subsequent Italian Grand Prix will be held early next month. Related Video:
2015 Honda Civic Type R revealed [w/video]
Tue, 19 Nov 2013Earlier today, we told you how Honda has revealed a trio of new turbocharged VTEC engines, including the one that will be used in the 2015 Civic Type R. That's the winged, Batmobile-esque creature seen here. Ahead of a formal introduction at the Tokyo Motor Show, Honda is flaunting its new Civic Type R with images of the car testing at the Tochigi test track and video of the front-wheel drive hot hatch being put through its paces on the Nürburgring.
While the US is getting revamped Civic sedans and coupes, European customers will soon be able to opt for the 2015 Type R with its new Earth Dreams 2.0-liter turbo engine producing more than 276 horsepower. Honda has also made sure to give the car a styling that matches its powerful engine with a more aggressive front end, massive fender flares and a liftgate wing with unusual airplane-like canards. Honda is still withholding the Type R's official specs until the unveiling, but we can tell that the bigger wheels make room for beefier brakes.
The Civic Type R won't launch until 2015, but Honda has released the video posted below showing WTCC driver Gabriele Tarquini working the car around the 'Nürburgring, along with a brief press release. Check 'em both out and be sure to let us know what you think of this matte-black hot hatch in Comments.
2013 Honda Accord Coupe V6 6MT
Fri, 21 Dec 2012One of the first cars I reviewed for Autoblog was - say it with me now - a 2010 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L V6 w/Navi 6MT, perhaps the rarest of all modern Accord models. I mean, think about it: Of all the different Accord variants on the road, how many are coupes? And how many of those have the larger V6 engine? And how many of those are fully loaded with leather, navigation and all the trimmings? And finally, how many of those have option sheets where the only box that isn't checked is the automatic transmission?
That has to be something like one percent of one percent, right?
So when Honda started rolling its all-new 2013 Accord into the test fleet, I was happy to hear that yet another Coupe EX-L V6 w/Navi 6MT model was available out of the Detroit pool. And while this really isn't the car that serves as the control for judging the entire Accord line, it's still one heck of a sweetheart.
