Prelude Camera Bag Car   21214
i have owned a 1st generation Prelude since 79. one of the first in US > it got crashed.  this 81/82 (probable one on the last of the series 79-81)  is my 3rd  which i bought tru eBay about 12 years ago.  it had been garage kept,  professional serviced & was in cherry shape with about 70K mi >> I have driven it in the city almost daily since.now has 160K mi.  it is almost famous in some parts of town. i am a pro photographer,  the little Prelude has been a tiny rolling studio.  It's had a good but brutal gig & seriously need a make over big time.  >>> PLAN A.  convert car to a mobile camera. /sorta/ .  start by systematic stripping all interior & exterior plastic & chrome stuff, while still driving it. OK started that.  (have each & every part removed in storage).. see pix ... >>>>new-PLAN B.  my big brother wants to give me his like new Buick - i live in center of city. no way 4 both.    & so...2 bad so very very sad.. :( i will sell my beloved little toy car........
EVER-1 NOTICES IT. what is it?. many have never seen 1 b4.  people have taken pix of in in parking lot. it get a lot of attention!   in all the years i had a 1st gen.Prelude i doubt i have seen more than 5 or 6 on the road.  it is very rare.
as a $10k+- prelude project this car will get more WOWs @ the farmers market parking lot than the $100K Beeemerrr.
SPECIAL DEAL:  i have thousands of pix of the cars since 1979. i will give a  photo shoot of the Prelude after her make-over. free. maybee can sell to Discover Chanel. lol.
please only bid on this car if u have the resources to complete a creative make-over project, "it is a PRELUDE  after all"
thank you

180,000 new vehicles are sitting, derailed by lack of transport trains

Wed, 21 May 2014

If you're planning on buying a new car in the next month or so, you might want to pick from what's on the lot, because there could be a long wait for new vehicles from the factory. Locomotives continue to be in short supply in North America, and that's causing major delays for automakers trying to move assembled cars.
According to The Detroit News, there are about 180,000 new vehicles waiting to be transported by rail in North America at the moment. In a normal year, it would be about 69,000. The complications have been industry-wide. Toyota, General Motors, Honda and Ford all reported experiencing some delays, and Chrysler recently had hundreds of minivans sitting on the Detroit waterfront waiting to be shipped out.
The problem is twofold for automakers. First, the fracking boom in the Bakken oil field in the Plains and Canada is monopolizing many locomotives. Second, the long, harsh winter is still causing major delays in freight train travel. The bad weather forced trains to slow down and carry less weight, which caused a backup of goods to transport. The auto companies resorted to moving some vehicles by truck, which was a less efficient but necessary option.

Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.

Honda Civic Tourer reminds us why we love wagons

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

It was the early 1990s when the last Honda Civic Wagon graced our shores, looking more like a squat five-door hatchback with an extra dose of charm. Well, Honda debuted the newest Civic Wagon Tourer at the Frankfurt Motor Show today, but, as we reported last month, it's a European model that will go on sale there early next year. There's still no word of it coming to the US.
The Civic Tourer was designed by Honda's European studio, and its overall look comes across as more muscular, sporty and stylish than both the sedan and two-door coupe, with bulging fenders and revised windows. Adrian Killham, large project leader for the Civic Tourer, has commented on the styling, saying, "Recently launched cars have tended to follow a similar style. The Civic Tourer has a different balance and appeal." We appreciate the sentiment, and the Tourer's shape is a big reason why we like it.
But we also like the 22 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up, which grows to a gargantuan 59 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. The big Civic will be powered by either a 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with i-VTEC or a 1.6-liter Earth Dreams i-DTEC diesel engine. Manual and automatic transmissions will be offered.
