This is a 2000 Honda Prelude that I have for sale, This is a 2 owner vehicle. was purchased used with 30,000 miles on it and driven and maintained by the second owner up to 283,000 miles,I have original window sticker from dealer. The engine and transmission have 130,000 miles on them. This vehicle came to my repair shop burning alot of oil, Hondas do go forever but at some point parts do wear out. I replaced the engine and had planned on driving the car myself back and forth from home and work, but have decided Im going to get a truck instead. The engine runs great does not burn oil, no noises or ticks. transmission shifts very well and smooth. The interior is clean (needs to be detailed) but free of tears and major blemishes. The exterior is in decent condition there is a litte rust started on the rear fenders (typical honda spots) but isnt severe, was quoted $200 dollars to fix it if its a big factor for you. the sunroof works and is very nice for summer days. Also, there are some scuffs on the bumpers due to being a low sporty car, has some rock chips on the hood, and needs 2 new fog lamps (for causmetics) or remove them. All in all not a bad car at all. mechanically it is in good shape, tires have about 50 percent. brakes about 70 percent left. has new catalytic converter and alot of other things as well throughout the years. would make a great comuter car, or even a first or second car for someone. happy bidding!! I do reserve the right to end the auction early if someone wants to see the car and purchase outside of auction.

Honda exec says US market near capacity, could hurt subprime buyers

Thu, 21 Aug 2014

Is there a point in the US auto industry where companies should start considering the welfare of their customers ahead of selling more cars? American Honda Executive Vice President of Sales John Mendel thinks that level exists, and we may be getting very close to it.
According to Automotive News, Mendel believes that finding more customers in the market could require pursuing subprime buyers and offering longer-term loans. However, he refuses to use those tactics. While selling models this way can improve things briefly, the strategies hurt resale prices and lower vehicle profits over time. The company won't do "stupid things in the short-term that damage the person who bought yesterday," he said to Automotive News. "It's a very, very short-term tactic especially in the subprime area."
American Honda, which combines the Acura and Honda brands, has seen market share decline from 9.7 percent to 9.1 percent through July 2014, according to Automotive News, and Autoblog's By the Numbers stats showed it posted falling sales in five of the seven months with data this year. Though, Mendel claims that was partially because the company focused on retail sales over fleets. The delays of the launches for the Honda Fit and Acura TLX likely didn't help either.

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:

Honda, Mercedes top KBB brand image awards [w/video]

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

Kelley Blue Book has announced the winners of its 2014 Brand Image Awards, which look at brands with "attributes that capture the attention and enthusiasm" of customers in the market for a new car.
The award is divided up into luxury brands and everyone else non-luxury brands, with a number of sub-awards in each group. There's also a single award for truck brands. Taking the crown for the best everyman brand (for the second year in a row) is Honda, while Mercedes-Benz was the king of the luxury brackets. Ford, meanwhile, had the best image among pickup buyers.
Honda was also named the most trusted brand among shoppers, while Kia, GMC, Mini and Chevrolet also snagged awards for value, refinement, performance and styling, respectively. Secondary winners in the luxury ranks include Lexus, Buick, Porsche and Jaguar. Mercedes was also named the most refined luxury brand.
