2012 Odyssey EX-L with Navigation.

Priced to sell and get your attention.  Make an offer.  The absolute lowest I'll go is $21,100, but I'll wait awhile to see if we can get full asking price, which is already well below the Kelly Blue Book value.

This van is in very good condition and runs great.  If you buy it for the full asking price ($22,950), I will reimburse you $100 for you to have it inspected and I agree to a $1,000 warranty for the engine during the first year of your ownership.  I have no issues with this van.  I am selling it because I have two Honda Odysseys and now only need one.

Vehicle History and Condition:
1)  Hit a deer (or vice versa) in November 2013.  Hood, windshield, and front bumper replaced with all new parts by a certified dealer.  All paperwork is available and there is nothing structurally, visibly, or mechanically wrong with the van. For a deer accident, it was relatively minor.

2)  Replaced sliding passenger door in 2013 with a new door.  No accident.  The door was dinged in a parking lot, causing rust and we opted for a new door instead of body work.  Looks and works like new because it is new.

3)  There are small scratches on the back bumper where my kids put their bike into the car.  There is one shallow scratch on the driver's side sliding door.  I didn't notice it until looking the car over in order to place this add.

4)  The leather seats have no rips, but have normal wear for a van that had kids in it.  There are some minor carpet stains and small marks in the rear seat area.  I don't think it is a big deal at all.  We have kids who rode in the back seat for two years.  I would describe it as normal wear and tear.

5)  The tires passed inspection in on May 13, 2014 and the mechanic said they are good-to-go.  They will probably need replacement in the next 5 - 10,000 miles.

All gadgets seem to be working - power seats, seat heaters, sunroof, navigation system, AC, heat, back-up camera, satellite radio, hands-free phone, Ipod adaptor / charger, cooling box, automatic doors (including rear door), etc... I can't think of anything that is broken.

This is an 8-seater.

The Honda Navigation system must be one of the best.  It works great.

There is no DVD in this van.

Any questions, please ask.  We are motivated to sell for a reasonable price.  The "low" end of the Kelly Blue Book is $24,589 as of 30May.  (2012 Honda Odyssey EX-L w/ 44,000 miles in "Fair" condition).  This van probably falls into "good" condition ($26,689) by KBB standards.  However, with the deer incident I'm taking a loss - even though there is NO damage.

Honda recalling 405K vehicles over airbag issue

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

Honda is in hot water due to an airbag glitch that is causing it to recall 405,400 vehicles. According to the campaign, the supplemental restraints might fire for no apparent reason. 342,000 of the affected vehicles are 2003 and 2004 Odyssey minivans, which gels with a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation we reported on in June.
Joining the Odyssey in the recall is the Acura MDX, with 63,400 units covered from the 2003 model year. Unlike the van, though, the MDX's recall covers Japan and Australia, in addition to the US and Canada. Both vehicles are suffering from an airbag control unit that is prone to malfunction when exposed to electrical noise, a condition that can cause the airbags to deploy without warning. Although no crashes have been reported in such scenarios, there have been some injuries typical of airbag deployment - abrasions and such.
Honda will be mailing recall notices to owners near the end of October, asking them to bring their vehicles into the dealership for installation of an electrical noise filter. The repair will take about an hour and be free of charge. Scroll down for the official announcement from Honda.

12 best hybrid SUVs for 2022

Tue, Jun 15 2021

If you're searching for the best hybrid SUV, the truth is there actually aren't that many choices. While there's an endless sea of those powered solely by gasoline, those that add batteries and superior fuel economy to the mix are few and far between. The very good news, however, is that the choices you have are actually excellent. The top-selling and top-rated Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 are not only available as hybrids, for instance, but are actually at their most appealing as hybrids.  Luxury hybrid SUVs are a different story. While Lexus offers each of its crossover SUVs as a conventional hybrid, those of other brands are by and large plug-in hybrids that provide a relatively brief amount of all-electric propulsion, superior fuel economy and higher prices that are somewhat countered by EV tax rebates. We include both conventional hybrids and plug-in hybrids in the below list of best hybrid SUVs. All are listed alphabetically within each category. Best small hybrid SUVs   |   Best midsize hybrid SUVs Best luxury hybrid SUVs   |   Best luxury plug-in hybrid SUVs Best small hybrid SUVs Honda CR-V Hybrid Why it stands out: Best-in-class back seat space; hybrid's distinctive EV-like power delivery; middle lower LATCH anchorCould be better: Antiquated and glitchy tech interface; a bit dull Hybrid fuel economy: 38 mpg combined (AWD only) Read our 2022 Honda CR-V Review Consider the CR-V the baseline for any compact SUV search. Objectively speaking, it's tough to beat due to its massive cargo capacity, voluminous back seat, well-balanced driving dynamics, competitive pricing and features, strong safety ratings and well-regarded reliability. In terms of its hybridness, we like that Honda's distinctive hybrid system sees most of its propulsion handled by the electric motor (the engine rarely powers the wheels directly), resulting in a more EV-like, torque-rich power delivery and a less obtrusive gas engine. For the vast majority of compact SUV buyers, and especially families, the CR-V Hybrid checks every box.    Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Why it stands out: Beautiful interior; excellent infotainment and safety technology; traditional automatic transmissionCould be better: No spare tire; styling a tad outrageous Hybrid fuel economy: 37-38 mpg combined (AWD only) Plug-in hybrid electric range: 33 miles Plug-in hybrid fuel economy: 80 MPGe Read our 2022 Hyundai Tucson Review The Tucson is the new kid in town and it's made quite an entrance.

U.S. issues new tariff threat, this time against British-built cars

Mon, Jan 27 2020

WASHINGTON — Britain is the United States' closest ally but their long friendship may be sorely tested as the two countries try to forge a new trade agreement after Britain's exit from the European Union. U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Saturday in London that he was optimistic that a bilateral deal with Britain could be reached as soon as this year. But Mnuchin gave up no ground after a second meeting with his UK counterpart, Sajid Javid. Javid has insisted that Britain will proceed with a unilateral digital services tax, despite a U.S. threat to levy retaliatory tariffs on British-made autos. Mnuchin told reporters after Saturday's meeting that such taxes would discriminate against big U.S. tech companies like Alphabet Inc's Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon. The UK Treasury declined to comment on the private meeting. The divide highlights the challenges ahead as the Trump administration seeks a new bilateral agreement with Britain, part of a broader push to rebalance relations with nearly all its major trading partners. The stakes are high — British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has pegged the trade deal with United States as a way to ease the pain of breaking with Europe, Britain's largest trade partner. U.S. President Donald Trump, has promised a "massive" trade deal to support Brexit, the product of a populist movement similar to his "America First" agenda. The goodwill and special relationship the two countries have enjoyed for decades may not count for much, experts say. "Trump is not going to be doing Johnson any favors," said Amanda Sloat, a senior fellow with the Brookings Institution in Washington. "He's not going to give him a trade deal without major concessions." Even before the digital tax issue arose, the Trump administration threatened to tax foreign car imports, which could hit British-made Jaguar, Land Rover, Mini, and Honda Civic hatchback cars. Stiff U.S. trade demands include increased access for U.S. farm goods, concessions that will be difficult for Britain's entrenched natural food culture to swallow. The United States also wants Britain to change the way its National Health Service prices drugs and allow in more U.S. pharmaceuticals, which could prove politically unpopular for Johnson's government. Washington's demand that London block Chinese telecoms equipment maker Huawei Technologies Co Ltd for national security reasons could also cloud talks.
