I have a 2012 Honda Insight EX that needs some work. Previously it was purchased at an auto auction with front end damage. The car was salvaged and repaired. Was issued a Rebuilt Title. We went through a states inspection so the vehicle can be registered and insured in any state. The car is registered in my name personally, i am not a Dealer. The front end repair included both fenders and headlights, hood, grill, front bumper, and a drivers airbag. Painted and matched done profesionally by an auto body shop. However i put about 200 miles on it so far and i cant get it running right electrically. I have a few malfunctioning codes including Traction Control, Brake System, Integrated Motor Assist (IMA), and the Check Engine Light. The car still runs and drives but seems likes its in some type of limp mode. A little bit about the car, exterior is in good shape, no major scratches, dents. No faded paint and like i mentioned before paint was matched and done right. Interior is also very taken care of, only 12K MILES so practically new. It has both leather and cloth seats, no rips or tears, non-smoker. EX model which comes with all the options including Power Locks, Windows, and Doors, Cruise Control, Bluetooth handsfree, CD and MP3, Keyless Entry, and much more. Have no time to start working on and cant figure out what the problem is. Been sitting a bit so will try too sell it the way it sits. SOLD AS-IS, I have title in hand. If you have any questions feel free to email me or call/text at 941-268-8960, Alex. |

Question of the Day: Ever consider driving a minivan?
Thu, May 12 2016Since I'm supposed to know something about cars, it happens all the time: friends and relatives ask me advice about what kind of vehicle they should get. Very often, the only type of vehicle that can check every item on their wish list (e.g., hauls lots of people and stuff, gets good fuel economy, has great crash-test ratings, can take four Great Danes camping, and so on) is a modern minivan... and, of course, nobody wants to hear this. I'm not a minivan person, they will wail, and so they end up with a cramped, fuel-swilling SUV or a not-so-space-efficient minivan-in-disguise CUV. So, is it worth becoming one of those minivan people in order to get the incredible usefulness of these masterpieces of vehicle engineering, or do you hold your head high and drive something that doesn't quite meet your needs? Honda already working on NSX roadster
Mon, 25 Nov 2013Honda doesn't do many convertibles. There was the original Sports 360, the Civic del Sol, the S2000 and the Beat. But so far, that's pretty much it. The previous NSX was offered with a targa-style top, but the latest reports indicate that the Japanese automaker is already working on a proper convertible version of the new NSX, to be sold once again as an Acura in North America and a Honda in other markets.
Although it's not yet known whether the NSX roadster will offer a hard or soft top, sources indicate that it won't be a mere removable roof panel. Whatever form it does take, however, expect it to arrive a good couple of years after the tin-top version launches in 2015 with a similar form to the concept but with different underpinnings and a radical interior.
Why Honda of America won't fit 2014 Fit models with start/stop
Tue, 24 Sep 2013One of the most recent yet notable additions to the modern vehicle's growing suite of fuel-saving technologies is the humble start-stop system. It's rather simple - when the vehicle is stopped, the engine shuts off. It then fires back up when the driver starts to take his foot off the brake or step on the clutch. For one of the most important fuel sippers of the year, though, start-stop tech is a no-go.
Honda will not be offering the system on the North American-spec, non-hybrid Fit despite it being a standard item on both the hybrid (pictured above) and gas-only Japanese domestic models. According to Honda, it's ostensibly due to the momentary lag, that occurs when the gas engine re-fires and power is available. The start-stop-equipped Fits "will lose at stoplights to V6s," Nobuhiko Shishido, the lead powertrain engineer for the Fit, told Automotive News. This is just an observation on our part, but unless the new Fit turns up with dramatically more than the current car's 117 horsepower, it'll "lose at stoplights" regardless of whatever fuel-saving features are fitted.
The other issue Honda sees is more realistic. In the world of the EPA, stop-start systems are not taken into account in fuel economy testing. That makes the cost-adding technology a tough sell for US consumers who are forced to take a dealer's word on real-world economy gains over the milage numbers on the window sticker. That said, wouldn't it at least make sense to offer start-stop as an option? Have your say in the Comments below.
