The Honda Element is the versatile box of motor vehicles, combining unique and practical features with a kind of military/utilitarian chic.Honda says the Element was designed specifically for young adventurers who need to haul wet or messy gear, like you can in a pickup, but with the security of an enclosed cargo area, like an SUV's, plus car-like performance and economy.Element provides all that. And it appeals to a much larger audience than just young men.

Element's durable, scratch-resistant interior is a big part of its charm. Its seats are designed to get wet.Inside and out, it looks like a little truck. But it's built with components from the Honda Civic, so it drives more like a car than a truck-based SUV.

This element is in great condition inside and out. A few dings and scratches, but very clean for a vehicle of this year.

The inside is clean and free of odor, does not have any signs of smoking by previous owner.

The vehicle is sound mechanically, air conditioning is cold, brakes are in great shape and the manual transmission is nice and smooth. The vehicle will receive an oil change and a full inspection prior to delivery.

We reserve the right to end the listing early, it is listed locally.  Test drives are encouraged.  Third party inspectors will have access to our shop and a lift if they so desire.

Vehicle is for sale as is where is.  Transportation is the sole responsibility of the buyer, we will assist in any way we can.  If you fly in we will pick you up from the Syracuse airport.

Please ask any and all questions before bidding.

Honda ditching Takata for next Accord's airbags

Sat, Jan 24 2015

Today brings unsurprising news that Honda will move away from Takata and source airbags for the next-generation Accord, among other models, from one of the embattled company's competitors. Both companies have been in headlines of late after the former recalled millions of vehicles that were fitted with the latter's airbag inflators, which had the unpleasant tendency to spew shrapnel at consumers. The move, as Reuters explains it, is particularly devastating for Takata. Honda is the company's largest customer, and the Accord represents its biggest product, accounting for over a quarter of the company's sales last year. It gets worse, though, as a confidential source with knowledge of the situation is reporting to Reuters that both the 2016 CR-V and Odyssey will source their airbags from Toyoda Gosei. If true, that'd mean that Takata will be losing out on more than half the cars Honda sells in the US market. At this point, Takata, Honda and Toyoda Gosei have all passed on opportunities to comment to Reuters.

Honda CR-V spot delights with 'impossible' illusions

Thu, 24 Oct 2013

Mind-blowing car commercials that employ optical illusions and jaw-clenching stunts instead of computer animation are becoming the norm these days, and everybody from Volvo Trucks to Forza Motorsport 5/McLaren are regular contributors to the growing trend. Honda joins the crowd in its latest European commercial for the CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC Diesel, and uses well-placed props and well-drawn imagery to trick viewers into seeing the "impossible."
The old-fashioned optical illusion is alive and well in Honda's "An Impossible, Made Possible" spot, so go ahead and watch it and the making-of video below.

New death linked to Takata airbag crisis, Honda recalls 170k vehicles overseas

Sat, 15 Nov 2014

The safety crisis surrounding Takata's exploding airbags continues to expand. In the latest revelation, Honda confirms another death linked to the faulty parts, and the company is expanding its recall of the components. However, none of the newly added vehicles are in the United States.
With the confirmation of this report, there are now five deaths linked to the faulty airbags. According to The New York Times, a pregnant woman in Malaysia was killed on July 27 in a 2003 Honda City when she crashed into another vehicle, and the inflator ruptured. This was the first announced case outside of the US.
The faulty part in the woman's car was reportedly made at a now-closed Takata factory in Georgia, according to the NYT, and it's the first known example from that location. In response, Honda recalled about 170,000 vehicles in Europe and Asia to replace the potentially bad inflators. The latest campaign brings the total number of recalled vehicles worldwide to around 14.3 million units.
