1993 Honda Del Sol Low Mile California Car Hardly Used Senior Owned Targa Top on 2040-cars
Canyon, California, United States
1993 HONDA DEL SOL THEY ARE ONLY ORIGINAL ONCE! SHE IS STILL IN THE WRAPPER ORIGINAL PAINT "HARDLY USED" ONE SENIOR OWNER AVERAGED ONLY 3100 MILES PER YEAR IN STORAGE FOR MANY YEARS CALIFORNIA CAR FROM NEW ONLY 62K ORIGINAL MILES REMOVABLE TARGA ROOF PANEL ITS NOT THAT THIS CAR IS CLEAN IT'S NEVER BEEN DIRTY Up for BID is a 1993 HONDA DEL SOL that is a very rare find that has only had one senior owner who used the car for one purpose which was to drive to the tennis courts. This car was purchased new in Marin county over 20 years ago and has only been driven 62k miles from new. The owner loved and babied this little classic from new but sadly had to give up driving a few years ago and will no longer be able to use it. This car is in amazing original condition If you ever wanted to go back in time here is your chance to re live 1993. I am listing this vehicle for a friend and believe my description to be accurate. The car has been in California its entire life and has spent the last 20 years living the Country Club lifestyle. It is a very low mile example that has original paint and has spent most of it's life garaged in a climate controlled environment and has been overly maintained. The car had the timing belt replaced at 55k miles and has only traveled 7k miles in three years. This car has hardly been used and never abused. It was though of as a collector car by it's previous owner and shows an overall pride of ownership. We have all heard stories of Honda's stellar reliability and how people drive them 500k but how often do you find a Honda that has only averaged 3100 miles a year and still looks like it did 20 years ago. This would be the ideal second car that you can take the roof off and store it in the trunk. You get a convertible with out the hassle of a soft top. And the reliability and good gas mileage of a Honda Civic and an automatic to boot. It has a power sliding rear window this is very cool on a nice day with out any buffeting This car runs and drives like new, it has been maintained at above factory specs THE INTERIOR IS VERY CLEAN ITS HAS POWER WINDOWS AS WELL AS A POWER REAR WINDOW THIS CAR IS AS CLEAN UNDERNEATH AS IT IS ON TOP!!! This car is a rare find that cannot be duplicated. She runs and drives great Thank you for looking at our auction. Hyundai-Kia claims 'greenest' title from Honda, Big Three still big losers
Tue, May 27 2014Let's start with the good news. On average, any new car you buy in the US today will be 43 percent cleaner than any average new car in 1998. Here's some more good news, for Korea anyway, Hyundai-Kia has been named the cleanest automaker in the latest study by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), which looked at 2013 model year vehicles sold between October 2012 and September 2013 from the top eight automakers (by volume). The bad news? The big three Detroit automakers are, on average, still making the dirtiest cars in the showroom. The big three Detroit automakers are, on average, still making the dirtiest cars in the showroom. The problem for Ford, General Motors and Chrysler lies in their trucks, which sell well but tend to have pretty bad fuel economy (compared to sedans, at least). The UCS calculates its list by averaging "the per-mile emissions for each light-duty vehicle sold by each automaker" and then factors in "the fuel economy, fuel type, and sales volume of each type of vehicle sold by each automaker" and "the upstream global warming emissions from producing and distributing the fuel used by each vehicle, as well as emissions from the vehicles themselves." That all means that, the more trucks you sell, the worse you're gonna do. Then again, the more trucks you sell with 18 mpg, the more you're helping drivers put CO2 into the air, so the UCS is doing a fair comparison of the things that this study is trying to track. More details on the methodology are available on page six of the study PDF. In case you were wondering (we were), UCS did make sure to use the revised mpg numbers for Hyundai and Kia models that were originally overstated. Hyundai has apologized for and fixed those figures and even with the new, corrected numbers, Hyundai's total emissions are dropping at a rate of about three percent a year, enough for it to take the greenest company title for the first time. In fact, this is the first time that an automaker other than Honda has come out on top in the UCS ranking, which has been released six times now, including the first one in 2000 (which looked at 1998 model year data). In 2010, Honda was almost knocked off the winner's perch by both Hyundai and Toyota, but managed to hold on. Chrysler, on the other hand, came in dead last (again) in the ranking of the top eight automakers, snagging the "dirtiest tailpipe" award once (again). Read the UCS' press release below.
Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles
Mon, May 13 2024It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.
Honda Gear concept explored at Montreal Auto Show
Fri, 18 Jan 2013Our friends at Autoblog Canada have just come away with a closer look at Honda's surprise Gear Concept at the Montreal Auto Show. The little three-door hatchback is arguably the automaker's first real shot at the North American city car market (the Gear is much smaller than the Fit) and may be an indication that Honda is getting serious about going after Scion on this side of the world after the CR-Z hybrid failed to deliver. Honda says the Gear Concept takes its inspiration from the fixed-gear bicycle scene, and should allow buyers an unprecedented level of customization. Designers also wanted to show that a car can be both fun and practical.
We're all for a compact stylish three door with functional room inside, but given Honda's propensity for draining the personality from its concepts on the way to production (at least the ones that don't look showroom ready), we don't hold much hope for the Gear. You can check out the full press release below for more information.
