Seems to need an engine mount, but not exactly sure of this. Clutch is high but still has life left in it. Small tear in driver's seat. AC isn't perfect but cools off after a bit. It is leaking engine oil, but I am not sure from where or how much since it is recent. The top will rattle over bumps and leak during rain, but that is common on most del Sol's. The locks sometimes stick and the key will come out of the ignition when it is running, however it doesn't affect the car's driving."

Selling my pride and joy 1993 Honda del Sol S. I bought this car a little less than two years ago. So far I have put the following into it:

All new paint and body work
New timing belt and water pump
New CV axles on both sides
New windshield with a lifetime warranty
New tires with around 3000 miles on them
New head unit, speakers, subwoofer, and amplifier
New battery
New auxillary lights
New accessory belts
New AC belt tensioner
New valve cover gasket
New spark plugs
New spark plug tube seals, upper and lower
New fuel filter
New wipers
New washer nozzles
New hood seal
New distributor o ring
New antenna
Replaced seat belts and rectractors under warranty
Plenty of clips replaced after body work

There are a few small issues with this car:

Has a couple small dings and body work is good but not perfect. Seems to need an engine mount, but not exactly sure of this. Clutch is high but still has life left in it. Small tear in driver's seat as pictured. AC isn't perfect but cools off after a bit. It is leaking engine oil, but I am not sure from where or how much since it is recent. The top will rattle over bumps and leak during rain, but that is common on most del Sol's. The locks sometimes stick and the key will come out of the ignition when it is running, however it doesn't affect the car's driving.

The mileage will be steadily increasing as I drive it a few miles to work and back daily.

I hate to sell this car but I need something more practical for me and Illinois winters. It runs and drives great, I would drive this car anywhere. Lots of fun in the sun with the top down!

I reserve the right to close the auction at any time since the car is also listed locally. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Happy bidding!

Auto sales in March and first quarter down nearly across the board

Wed, Apr 3 2019

Nearly every major automaker reported weak U.S. sales for March and the first quarter of 2019, citing a rough start to the year, but said a robust economy and strong labor market should encourage consumers to buy more vehicles as 2019 rolls on. GM, which no longer releases monthly sales figures, saw first-quarter sales fall 7 percent, with declines across all brands. Sales of Silverado pickup trucks fell nearly 16 percent and the high-margin Chevy Suburban large SUV dropped 25 percent. Ford also no longer releases monthly sales numbers, but is due to release its first-quarter sales figures on Thursday. According to industry data, Ford's sales fell 2 percent in the quarter and 5 percent in March. Ford representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment. FCA reported a 7 percent fall in U.S. sales in March and a 3 percent drop for the first quarter. All of FCA's brands dropped in March, except for Ram, which saw a 15 percent increase in pickup truck sales. "The industry had a tough first quarter, but with spring finally starting to show its face and continued strong economic indicators ... we are confident that new vehicle sales demand will strengthen going forward," FCA's U.S. head of sales, Reid Bigland, said in a statement. Toyota reported a 3.5 percent fall in U.S. sales in March and 5 percent for the first quarter, hurt by declining demand for its Corolla sedans and Camry vehicles. "While some of our competitors are abandoning sedans, we remain optimistic about the future of the segment," Toyota said in a statement. Nissan posted a 5.3 percent drop in sales in March, and its first-quarter sales were down 11.6 percent. Honda and Hyundai bucked the trend. Honda's U.S. sales rose 4.3 percent in March and 2 percent in the quarter, while Hyundai's were up 1.7 percent and 2.1 percent, respectively. Passenger-car sales suffered throughout the January-March quarter compared with the same period in 2018 as Americans continued to abandon them in favor of larger, more comfortable pickup trucks and SUVs, which are far more profitable for automakers. The battle for market share in the particularly lucrative large-pickup truck market intensified in the quarter, as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' Ram brand outsold the U.S.' No. 1 automaker General Motors' Chevrolet-brand trucks. The two automakers have both launched redesigned pickup trucks.

Meet the Kanjozoku, Osaka's infamous street racers

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

Street racing is obviously illegal and incredibly dangerous, but that has never stopped people from doing it. While we don't hear nearly as much about the scourge of Japanese tuner cars as when The Fast and the Furious first hit theaters over a decade ago, illegal street racing is still bubbling under the surface all over the island nation. An excellent new documentary short from Bowls Films takes a look at the Kanjozoku from Osaka, Japan; a group that claims to be partially responsible for the tuning style known as JDM.
The group gets their name from their preferred route known as the Kanjo. It's a 4.77-mile long loop of connected highways running right through the city of Osaka. You might expect a hardcore group of illegal Japanese racers to show up with highly tuned Nissan GT-R and Toyota Supra coupes, but the Kanjozoku evidently eschew all of the others in favor of one particular car that they love: the Honda Civic.
According to the video, that vehicle of choice came in part from the city's location. Osaka was relatively near the one-make Civic races held at Japan's legendary Suzuka racetrack. The hatchbacks thus became the default weapons for the Kanjozoku's street battles.

New Odyssey ads feature Honda Vac, star power

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

Honda has released a string of new ads highlighting its refreshed, 2014 Odyssey minivan. While the Japanese brand hasn't started bragging about attaining the first Top Safety Pick+ for minivans, it's all too happy to brag about another first - the world's first van with a built-in vacuum cleaner.
In three spots, anthropomorphic children's rubbish discusses the merits of the new minivan, only to be sucked up by the built-in vacuum, which is only available in the top-end Touring Elite model. There's also quite a bit of star power floating around for those that watch a lot of TV. Neil Patrick Harris from Doogie Howser, MD and How I Met Your Mother voices a character in one of the spots, while Rainn Wilson from The Office stars in another. Take a look below for all three ads from Honda.
