Hi eBay. I'm going to give it to you straight. I'm not a dealer trying to make money off of you or some shady seller on the street trying to peddle some car to you with an unknown history. No stories, no games. Instead, I will give you the full scoop on my car that I am losing money on. This is my 2009 Civic GX Natural Gas Vehicle. I am the second owner and we are planning on a third baby, so I need to get something bigger. It is a factory CNG car, so it gives you access to the HOV lane with a single occupant because it is a low emissions vehicle that in my opinion, is so much better for the environment than a conventional hybrid car. Reason being, this car has no batteries and you don't have to worry about what landfill they show up in. Also, CNG burns so much cleaner than a conventional gasoline car and at the same time, is cheaper (only $1.99 per gallon by me) that it's such a no-brainer to go with CNG power. In SoCal, there are CNG stations everywhere, and while it is rated at 36 MPG, but in reality, I get around 30 MPG combined with traffic in the real world, with the darn 405. The car has been garaged at our house and I keep very good care for it because my wife is a stickler for things being neat. Yes, she is a neat freak. so I have to keep it clean.

Non smokers, no pets, just two kids with a third coming. As you can see in the pictures, we've kept this car in excellent condition.

Going back in time, I bought this to commute to LA from here in Irvine on the 405's HOV lane but I was recently given the news that we are expecting a third child so I need to get something bigger. Also, my boss now has me reporting to the San Diego market for my work as a traveling rep for a marketing company and now, the car gets hardly any use. So, instead of letting it sit, my wife agrees that we should let someone else enjoy it.

Because of the incredibly low miles, it needs nothing. I put a battery in last winter, but other than that, it is exactly as new. Everything is factory perfect, car runs, drives and operates like new with no issues whatsoever. I just paid it off, so I have a free and clear title in my name, with no liens or funny stuff. You will have to transfer the plates and HOV lane access decals to your name, but that's easy. You just have to go to the California DMV site to fill out some forms and you're done.

Sold as is, sale is final. Please email me with any questions that you may have. I will respond quickly. I'm not interested in trades unless it's a rare car that I can tell my wife with a straight face that it's worth more than our Civic GX. Thanks a lot for looking. God bless.

Sales incentive growth clustered around brands with few CUVs, trucks

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

While it's arguably been around the longest, the dominance of the four-door sedan has been under threat for many years. As a further sign of the hurtin' that SUVs and crossovers have put on today's four-doors, a new report from Automotive News points to the increasing use of incentives by brands reliant on cars and light on CUVs and pickups.
Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Kia have all been stung by double-digit increases in their incentives-to-transaction price ratio, according to AN, which cites data from TrueCar. Honda's ratio is up 14 percent, while Toyota, VW and Kia are up 18, 15 and 19 percent, respectively.
"Most of the incentive growth we have seen is in product segments with low demand - midsized or large sedans," TrueCar CEO John Krafcik told AN. "As this trend goes on, the brands with three-sedan strategies are going to be in worse shape on incentive spending than the crossover brands."

Design Handbook explains the difference between design and styling

Fri, 11 Oct 2013

It's easy to confuse the terms 'design' and 'style,' but Jim Hall attempts to explain the difference between the two in his latest Design Handbook video column for Autoline. Before relating the terms to cars, Hall first uses other, non-automotive-related examples to prove his point, such as a well-designed glass versus a well-styled glass. Both do their job well as a result of good designs, he claims, but one stands out more because it also was styled.
When he relates his lesson to cars, he uses the 2013 Honda Accord and the new Chevrolet Impala as examples, but you'll have to watch the video below to find out which car he thinks is merely designed and which one has been styled.
We've also included a gallery of the Honda and a gallery of the Chevrolet so you can decide for yourself which one of these vehicles has been designed, and which one has been styled.

Honda China struggling with high-end Accord because Chinese covet German cars, too

Sun, 06 Jul 2014

It's not particularly unusual to see cheap cars in China, or those with designs stolen from foreign competitors, but increasingly the best-selling vehicles there would be very recognizable to just about any auto enthusiast. There appears to be one fact of life whether looking at car buyers in Sacramento, Stuttgart or Shanghai: People who can afford to buy premium cars often look first at the Germans.
Honda recently thought that it could challenge this perceived wisdom by including a premium Accord in the ninth-generation sedan's Chinese launch last year. The market-exclusive version was priced against the Audi A4. The venture failed, miserably.
According to Automotive News China, sales for the new Accord in China are down 37 percent through May of this year. Honda's overall sales are actually up by about 11 percent there on the strength of smaller, less profitable models. However, the company is still off its forecast 19-percent rise.
