2014 - Honda Civic on 2040-cars
Pelican, Louisiana, United States
What makes my vehicle different is what extra comes with it from the dealership. I added the Underbody Spoiler Kit which retails for roughly 1,300 and the 5-Year Wheel and Tire Protection package which is 550, which covers all wheels and tires, no matter what may happens to them. Doesn't matter if you blow a tire, hit a pothole, or get curb-rash. Everything is covered, and the protection follows the car just like the factory warranty. The warranty on this 2014 Civic Si is 3Yr/36K Miles Bumper to Bumper as well as 5Yr/60K Miles Powertrain. I only had the vehicle in my possession for about 3 weeks before I was called back overseas. I won't be returning home for about 3 more months, but my parents will take care of everything Engine: 2.4L I-4 DOHC 16-Valve i-VTEC Transmission: Close-Ratio 6-Speed Manual Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV-2) Front-wheel drive 4.76 Axle Ratio 45-Amp/Hr 410CCA Maintenance-Free Battery Gas-pressurized shock absorbers Front And Rear Anti-Roll Bars EXTERIOR Wheels: 18" Alloy Tires: P225/40R18 92H AS Wheels w/Machined Accents Steel spare wheel Compact Spare Tire Mounted Inside Under Cargo Clearcoat paint Express Open/Close Sliding And Tilting Glass 1st Row Sunroof w/Sunshade Body-Colored Front Bumper w/Black Rub Strip/Fascia Accent Body-Colored Rear Bumper Black Side Windows Trim Body-colored door handles Body-Colored Power Side Mirrors w/Convex Spotter and Manual Folding Fixed Rear Window w/Defroster Light tinted glass Variable intermittent wipers Fully Galvanized Steel Panels Black grille Wing Spoiler Trunk Rear Cargo Access Fully Automatic Aero-Composite Halogen Daytime Running Headlamps w/Delay-Off Front fog lamps ENTERTAINMENT Radio: 360-Watt AM/FM/CD Premium Audio System -inc: 7 speakers including subwoofer, 7" display audio w/high-resolution WVGA (800x480) electrostatic touch-screen and customizable feature settings, HondaLink Next Generation, Pandora compatibility, Bluetooth streaming audio, display audio interface, front and center console USB audio interface, MP3/ Windows Media Audio (WMA) playback capability, Radio Data System (RDS) and Speed-Sensitive Volume Control (SVC) HondaLink access within the display audio interface is currently only compatible with iPhone 5 and newer models. Honda speeds down memory lane with its first F1 car
Fri, 22 Nov 2013Though most Formula One teams are based in the UK, they hail from places all around the world. There are teams from Russia, India and Malaysia, but in the 1960s, the idea of an F1 team coming from as far away as Japan was unthinkable in what was a predominantly European racing series. That's just the notion that Honda aimed to upset when it entered the car you see here in the 1964 Formula One World Championship.
With a 1.5-liter V12 dispensing 220 horsepower through a six-speed manual (its shifter necessitating the steering wheel mounted left-of-center), the 1964 Honda RA271 was built around an aluminum monocoque in a package that looks like a Formula Vee car you could erect in your garage, but it state-of-the-art when it was built. Speaking of which, Honda only built one, and today it's part of the Honda Collection Hall at Motegi, but the priceless racer made the trip down to Japan's capital so we could check it out at the Tokyo Motor Show. Awfully nice of Honda, we'd say. Check it out in our gallery of live shots from the show floor above.
Honda Civic, Volvo XC90 named 2016 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year
Mon, Jan 11 2016It's a great day to be the Honda Civic and Volvo XC90. These cars are the official 2016 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year, with the awards just having been announced at the Detroit Auto Show. The Civic is a great car, and a fantastic entry in the compact class. To us, its win isn't a surprise, though our enthusiast hearts were really rooting for the runner-up Mazda MX-5 Miata. The new Chevy Malibu was also a finalist for this year's award. As for the Truck/Utility award, we wholeheartedly agree with the Volvo XC90 choice. It's a fantastic-looking, premium, tech-forward vehicle, and represents a huge step forward for Volvo here in the United States. But its runners-up, the Nissan Titan XD and Honda Pilot, are also great choices, bringing a lot of stiff competition to some pretty important segments. Here's how the jury voted: Car of the Year Honda Civic – 203 points Chevy Malibu – 181 points Mazda MX-5 Miata – 146 points Truck/Utility of the Year Volvo XC90 – 310 points Honda Pilot – 111 points Nissan Titan XD – 109 points
Honda and Mario Andretti cite pedestrians for excessive slowness
Thu, 05 Jun 2014Honda and the Andretti family have a lot to celebrate at the moment. Andretti Autosport driver Ryan Hunter-Reay won the 2014 Indianapolis 500 in his Honda-powered car, and Marco Andretti, Mario's grandson, also managed to take the third step on the podium. Apparently, the victory is making them feel magnanimous because Honda and Mario Andretti are giving the chance to ride with him in a two-seat, open wheel car.
To promote the contest, they created the Honda Speed Patrol to ticket anyone going too slow. It's an interesting idea, and the chance to ride with Andretti would be the opportunity of a lifetime. Perhaps the biggest shock of the video, though, might be when you realize how short Mario is when you see him milling about in public. Scroll down to watch one of America's most respected racers cite people in Chicago for being too slow.
